This might not be something that a lot of people have noticed but in 2021, Disney changed where the perimeter launch sites are, and changed how many of them there are. For the holiday party shows, the "perimeter" fireworks is just two extra launch sites behind MK. Previously it was 6 extra (I believe) that circled the park. For NYE and July 4th, the 360 aspect is really lacking. Previously there were 11 ( I believe) launch sites used for those shows but now there are only 6. This takes away the 360 part and its really just fireworks in front of you and behind you if you are inside Magic Kingdom. Before if you stood on main street there would be fireworks EVERYWHERE you looked.
On the technical side of things, there used to be 3 sites along World Drive next to Space Mountain. A new one was constructed north of the area and those 3 are no longer used.
On the west side of the park there were 3 sites, all in backstage areas, now there is only 1. For the 360 shows, I honestly can't pinpoint every launch area but on top of the previously mentioned sites, there were temporary trailers set up and barges in seven seas lagoon, along with the island in the lagoon. Now it is the island, one barge close to Grand Floridian, and one temporary area south of the MK bus stop.
In the grand scheme of things this isn't a huge deal to most, but it's definitely something I've noticed, and it definitely takes away from the wow factor of these shows.
