Disney's Minnie Van begins testing

I hope this means all hours too? Say we need to be at MK by 7:00am ... Hopefully they will be running that early to schedule :)

No, it's not all hours, there are hours for the service. I'd have to locate them again, because I read it last night and now can't remember what they are. But I did get me wondering about their running out of vehicles early mornings. I don't know how many they have

The posted hours are 6:30 am to 12:30am

One of The articles mention something I hadn't even thought of. This service will drop you off close to Pioneer Hall for your Hoop Dee Doo reservation!

Thanks

In addition to the closer drop off for HDDR and dropping off at the bus stop at MK the Minnie Van will be able to pick you up at your building at CSR. CSR is the only resort with internal gates so Uber/Lyft can't go to the individual buildings. It's not a problem at any other resort or for drop offs (since you are there and can open the gates with your MB)

I can imagine lots of people will be calling for Minnie Vans after night time shows. I am guessing they will have it like a taxi stand, where you get in line and wait for the next one.

Imagine if it was identical to Uber, where every time a Minnie Van showed up, all those waiting would run up to see if it was their Minnie Van. This wouldn't work so well!

Brings up a good question, how do you know which Minnie Van is YOUR Minnie Van.
With Uber/Lyft you are told your car make, model, color, plate number and driver name. It can get hectic but at least you can find yours in there with little effort
Obviously with Minnie Van 3 of those things are never changing so that leaves plate numbers and drivers. It's not safe to run around and read plate numbers (since that means getting in the street to read the back of the vehicle). So it will be matching drivers with guests I guess. Going to be interesting in busy situations that's for sure.

I have seen airport limos that have a display screen in the front window with the rider's last name. Perhaps something like this? Brings up the question of exactly how many Minnie Vans are available at one time?

Anybody have thoughts or knowledge of them servicing Swan/Dolphin?
Another good question. I'm going to bet they will service Swan/Dolphin. Just basing it on the locations that Disney buses service. Nothing more than that. And I could be wrong too.

I doubt it.

I'm expecting a staged implementation, just because of the scale of the Disney-owned resorts. There are 29 Disney-owned properties at WDW. I'd expect Deluxe first, then DVC, then Mod, then Value. Maybe never Mod and Value...

Disney is going to have a serious supply problem. They need vehicles and drivers for 18 hours of service x 7 days per week, staged at 29 resorts, 4 theme parks, and two water parks, plus Disney Springs. Think of the numbers of vehicles and drivers involved.

I don't see any room (or benefit) to offering the service to Swan/Dolphin.

I guess they have data on how many often Uber and Lyft transport within Disney so they have some idea on demand? That said, demand during PPO ADR time is going to be the highest, I would think.
