Can someone tell me a little about this? Do they just pick up your party or a few other families? Will they make a grocery stop (I'm sure the answer to that is no)
Tiffany Town Car charges $90 round trip...I wonder if I would be better off going with them and making a grocery store stop (I NEED A CASE OR TWO OF WATER BOTTLES!!!)

I would imagine Magical Express (because it is complimentary) will function similar to Mears. That means many other families, stopping at several resorts along the way. :flower:

What I wonder is how disney will know you want to use it and how they will know to get your luggage. Does anyone know? Do they contact you to ask? And what if you are renting pts from DVC? Can you use it? I am counting on it!

You need to call no later than 10 days before your trip if you want to make reservations for DME. Renting points at DVC you can still use it. Just call CRO and they should be able to take care of it for you.

As far as who they pick up and will they stop. The bus holds up to 57 people. The people will be put on buses that are going to a set group of resorts...say the Magic Kingdom resorts on one bus. Then, they will drop those people off at their particular resort. We have been told that there most likely won't be more than 4 stops...maybe possible 5 once and awhile. So, no you can't make a grocery stop. A lot of us use one of the several shopping services...netgrocer.com or wegoshop.com Both good services. They will get your groceries to you resort for a minimal fee. Check out their websites.

Since DME hasn't started yet, no one is too sure how quick it will be. We should know more soon after mid-May since it starts May 5.

I was thinking that the luggage transfer would work much the way it does on a cruise. The cruise line gave us special luggage tags, that would make our luggage stand out from the rest, so that they could then collect the luggage and deliver it to our state rooms.
I was assuming that Disney would send us some sort of tags for the bags too.

You should receive special luggage tags approximately 3 weeks before you leave. It should be just like a cruise.....I usually take a towncar, but I will be using Magical Express, and using a shopping service for the groceries. What a way to start a magical vacation.....don't have to worry about luggage or food shopping..........Let the magic begin.....

It's my understanding that they mail you special luggage tags beforehand & that's how they know to pick up your luggage

But keep in mind....you have to call Disney and reserve your spot on the bus!!! You do not automatically get those luggage tags. If you don't call, and you try to just show up...first, your luggage won't be getting picked up by Disney...it will just sit there, going around and around, waiting for you to come get it...and second, there won't be a spot for you on the bus. Disney will know ahead of time how many people are going to which resorts and will dispatch buses accordingly. So, if you want to take part in DME...get on the phone and call them to make your reservation.

Lots of info is available, check Disney's Site, and search this one for "Magical Express".

And no, there is not a grocery stop.

There are grocery delivery services available in the area.

I have heard good things about some of the shopping services, about $15.00 on top of cost of order(plus tip) pretty reasonable. Wegoshop is one I think, if you use magical express and order from them you are saving alot of money right off the bat! (more money for :mickeybar )
