Disney's Magical Express -- Luggage Tag Info

I realized 5 days ago that I had not received my magical express package in the mail yet. I got the other welcome packet with the free plastic luggage tags and all of our travel info and vouchers, but NO yellow ME tags. So I called ME and the lady I spoke with said she would drop the in the mail, well its been 5 days since I called and nothing yet..our trip is a week from tommorrow!!! :confused3

DME needs about a week to 10 days to generate the packet and get it to your home. So, will you get it in time??? Maybe, but there is no way of knowing for sure.
If you don't, then you can just head to the DME counter where they will print you up vouchers to use to board the bus. As far as baggage goes, you can either get it yourself at baggage claim and then bring it with you to the DME bus, or you can bypass baggage claim and just give the DME CM a description of the bags, the number of checked bags and the baggage claim receipts to copy so they can use them as well. Then they will send someone to claim the bags and get them delivered to your resort.
Many have done this with no issues at all.
Since you did call them, and they said they would get them out to you, you are obviously in their system. I always recommend that people call DME just to be sure that they have the info in their system. IF they don't, you won't be allowed on the bus. YOu have to have a reservation in their system.
Have a great trip!!!

Did you book a package at WDW?? If so, that's the mail you got. DME packet comes in a different mailing. Most likely your TA will get the DME packet and then have to send it along to you.

Thanks! My TA just needed our flight info and she said the ME packet will be sent to us.:cool1:

I received my DME package and there are 5 luggage tags for all the people on my room reservations. However, only one of those people is actually taking a plane and using DME (and that is all I reserved for DME). She needs to check two bags. Can she use the yellow luggage tag with her name on it, then one of the other 4 tags that that are not associated with people actually taking a flight? Wasn't sure if names on the yellow tags were matched with actual people that are on the flight info given to DME.

Thanks :thumbsup2

She can use any of those tags, no problem at all. Long explanation, I won't bore you with it, but she won't have any trouble doing that.

I always rent car, so I don't ever use DME, but I have been put in charge of our group at the airport on Friday. They just gave me everyone DME packets to give them when they get to the airport to check in. I noticed there is only 1 tag per person. What do I tell them they do if they have more than 1 bag per person to check? (I am renting a car, so I don't need my tags at all).
Can they do as said above, bring their claim tickets from the departure airport and give it to the people at DME when they check in for the bus??
I know they can also get the extra bags and take them to the bus themselves if they prefer.

Thank you!!

I added my dad to my reservation, first 7 night as a package and last day room only. Just wondering if the DME would get this info, or would I have to call them as well? thanks for the help in advance

If someone has more than one bag to check, they can just give the info to DME people at the checkin desk. They will ask for a description of the bag and will want to make a copy of the luggage claim receipts. Then, they will send a CM off to get the bags and get them to the DME luggage area, for resort delivery.
If you don't need your tag, you can always give it to someone else to use..as long as you are staying at the same resort.

You do need to call and have him added to the DME reservation. Disney will not automatically add someone to DME just because they are on the room reservation...especially when added after the fact. So, call and get him put on the DME reservation as well.

Even if I don't take the bus myself? I thought they wouldn't put your bags on the bus unless the name on the tag matched the name of someone checked in for the bus?

Shouldn't be an issue. Unless the airline misdirects your bag. Are any of you on the same reservation??? You know...same room, just different names? If so, one of the people in that room can just tell DME that they checked two bags...it won't matter if one of the room occupants didn't get on the bus. As long as someone in that room did.

No, same group, but it's just me and my daughter in my room, and neither of us are taking the bus.

I never received my yellow tags for my luggage. My sister who is going with me and lives in another state (taking a different airline) is talking about sending me one of hers. Does it matter if I use hers since we will be in the same room?

I'm thinking your sister has your tag. Only one person, the person who made the reservation, gets the DME packet. Even if there are three or four adults, each paying their own way, in the same room, only that one person gets the packet. It is up to that person to get everyone else their tags.
It sounds as if your sister made the reservation, so she got the packet. If she has extra tags, it means that she has yours. Each person gets one tag..unless they requested addtl tags.
So yes, she can send you a tag and you can use it...it may even have your name on it!!

Sooo, you'll have two extra luggage tags?? I would say it should be okay if someone else used those tags...it's not as if you are using them to tag your bags and then not taking the bus. You are getting your bags and renting a car. But, if one of those tagged bags is misdirected, they may have trouble tracking it.
Do you have time to call DME and get some extra tags??

Nope, my group is incredibly disorganized, they just gave me the packets, and we leave at 8 am Friday.
I will just tell them to either gather their own extra bags, or take their claim tickets to the desk.

Thanks!!!
