Disney's Junior Encyclopedia of Animated Characters?

I got mine on Amazon a few months back for about $9. It stated there were only 5 left...maybe that's why they are costly. I know a lot of people on my Disney trip FB group has ordered some. I think they are becoming popular as autograph book for Disney trips. Hopefully the price comes down. $70 is outrageous!

Given that this thread is nearly 3 old, and the book was wanted prior to a trip taken in September of 2010, I think you might be a wee bit late. :rotfl:

LOL I just saw that!! I hate revived threads! I always feel dumb after I respond

I actually may want it! I ordered a used one from amazon and when I received it it was missing over 20 pages! Is yours the new version or the 2004 version?

That happened to me back in 2011. I bought both versions the 2004 and the 2009. The 2004 was missing some of the first few pages. I did put in a complaint since the description didn't mention any pages missing. I said I could understand pages missing in the middle but at the beginning it should have been noted.

I just did a search and this thread came up. I am FREAKING. OUT. - I had the book in my cart on Amazon and suddenly it was $80! I can't find it anywhere (Walmart shows Not Available, Barnes and Noble, etc all show $80+) Crap!:headache:

WOW! :scared:

I wonder why there is such a price hike??? I JUST bought mine from Walmart 2 months ago and Amazon was just selling them for $9... makes me wonder if a new version isn't in the works? I really hope so. The original was published in 2004, then there was the one in 2009 so they're due for a new one. :confused3 Sorry you missed out PeanutButter. It really is a cute book.

That was my hope too (that there would be a new one) but it looks like it's gone in favor of a whole bunch of individual books (Book of Princesses, Book of Fairies, Book of Pixar, Book of Cars, etc) which is WAY not what I wanted.

I am dying for this book for my daughters first Disney trip in sept but I cant bring myself to pay what everyone is asking!!!

Is this the one you have? That is the one I really want. Anyone else have a suggestion for where I might get this cheaper of for a comparable book?

Omg, I paid 10$ for that at Walmart. I ordered it in February for her bday in July. She has no idea we are going to Disney, I'm going to let her read it on the plane! :) I also seen it at my daughters book fair.

If anyone was looking for the updated book (like me.. Pretty much all day) Amazon has a preorder page live and will start selling on June 3, 2014. I can't post links yet since I'm new, but here is the description:

"From Ariel to Zurg, this jacketed hardcover guide features fun facts, tricky trivia, and cool quotes about over 150 Disney heroes (and villains!). Readers will also learn about the stars of the latest Disney and Disney*Pixar films, like Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, The Good Dinosaur, and more! Plus the book jacket reverses to reveal a poster!"

So, I had pre-ordered the new Disney Junior Encyclopedia of Animated Characters on Amazon, and it arrived today. I don't know why, but I was expecting it to be a paperback, and it's hardcover. I know I saw on a different thread that others went to Office Max (or somewhere similar) to have the binding removed, then spiral-bound, and the covers laminated. Have any of you done this? Was it with a hardcover book? I feel like I'm being wasteful removing the hardcover, but this book is HEAVY! Plus, I wanted to do the spiral-binding, as it would make it easier to keep the book open. But, by removing the hardcover, I won't have a cover remaining for the autograph book. Any suggestions? :confused3

Now I can't wait until mine arrive....they are supposed to be here tomorrow!!

Got it yesterday and I love it! I was thinking of doing the spiral-bound makeover but when I saw the hardcover I decided to keep it that way. Yes it's a little heavy but we have a stroller so shouldn't be too bad carrying it and I will use the red sheets and covers for autographs from characters not in the book. I won't bring the poster with us tho.

What age range is this book for? I'm intrigued...

ANY age! Each page shows a picture of the character, an overview of the character, and then has a fun fact or trivia question. It really is a nice book, and this updated version even includes Anna and Elsa.
