Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort - 2014 Roll Call!!!

We will be there March 15-22 in a 2bedroom. It will be myself, DH, DD 12,DS 12, DD 5, DS 5 and DD 5 months. Anyone else going to be there with kids.? I know the beach will probably be cold but I was planning to do a dolphin tour one day, mini golf another day, maybe the nature museum another day, harbor town lighthouse. That's four days with room to relax a little. Any other things we shouldn't miss? We will be staying in Savannah on the 14th so we will try to visit it before we head to HHI on the 15th. I'm worried it will be packed because of St. Patrick's Day. The 15th is DD and DS 12 th birthday

Second trip to one of our home resorts will be Aug 2014. It is booked...5 nights in a 2BR...but is up in the air since we just got back from a rather miserable WDW trip (miserable due to family drama and one of the culprits was my DS-17 who no longer likes to vacation with us and now we aren't sure what to do about the HHI trip).

We are sticking with the HHI trip...8/17-8/22 in a 2BR. We even convinced the DS-17 to come (twin DDs-15 are happy to come). Sitting here debating going out to shovel all the snow off the driveway....cannot wait until our HHI trip.

I know I've previously replied but I thought I'd give more details. We will be in a 2BR Aug. 31 - Sept. 5th. It will be me, DW and DS39. That is if I can change our Studio to a 2BR next week. If not, I'll just keep trying each week until we can get a 2BR.

Go online first thing on 1/31 (8am, right?). I was considering switching my 2BR to a 1BR and kept watching...all was available, even a 3BR GV (which I really wanted to try but DH vetoed me) until I looked a day or so after the 7 month window opened and poof.

Golf is not AT the resort, but across the street in Palmetto Dunes. There are 3 courses there (all of which DH has played multiple times). You used to get a discount if you told them where you were staying-I don't know if that's still true.

So glad to hear there will be kids there the same time we are there. With all those boys there is bound to be some water games involving a ball going on no matter what the temp is outside.

We definitely want to rent bikes as well.

So dumb question. The HHI website lists basketball equipment on the activities rentals. Is there a basketball court? Last time we traveled with our youngest kids so I didn't pay attention but this time we will have our older 2 going and they are both ball players.

With our Disney New Year's Eve thru Jan 5th trip now a distant memory we have officially started the countdown to our annual return to DVC HHI (our home resort). 8 of us -- July 20th - July 26th.

There are studios under each Grand Villa. You could request to have the studio in the same building as your Grand Villa.

We will be there starting June 22nd.

There is a basketball 1/2 court near building 16. I am not sure if there is a full court anywhere.

Thanks so much for updating this! Between tax season and major medical stuff we've been pretty busy. But while waiting for the lymph once biopsy, we decided to add extra days at Thanksgiving. Take that, "C"! So now it's November 24-December 3, 9 days at HHI. DH says that if we just have breakfast at Tide Me Over, then sit on the balcony for the rest of the day, we'll have a good time.

Oh no...so sorry you're going through a tough time. I hope you get good news on those test results. Your HHI trip will be very nice. I'd love to go for Thanksgiving...hopefully someday.
