I loved the idea of gf but with 4 adults the 1bedroom villa at gf only has one bathroom, BLT has 2.

Great call on the last minute change, and you can update us on the recent room updates. Two bathrooms make for a happy blended family.

I am cautiously hopeful about the tea room surviving... I think they need it to with the bar... to have extra seating, and also are able to host some events...

Personally, I'd love to see Summerhouse demolished to allow for expanded pool offerings... but I doubt that will happen.

I may not get to GF but dd will be at V&A so I’ll try to get fancy food pix from her at least!

I get it. The extra bathroom is a game changer. We currently have two deluxe studios at VGF booked for our trip next summer. At the 7 month mark I am going to switch us to a 2BR at BLT.

My sister stayed in one of the updated BLT villas a few months ago and said they were fabulous. I think this is a great call - the extra bathroom thing is critical!

I think they did a better job with the theming on BLT than regular CR rooms.

Grand Floridian Construction: Bar Countertops, Tea Room Windows, & More​

Birdcage Bar Countertops​

In our last update, crews were about halfway done installing countertops for the Birdcage Bar.


Now those are complete, but they are still covered with that dark blue film.

Tea Room Windows​

New windows have been installed at the Tea Room. They are arched stain glass windows with images of branches and birds inside.

Currently, there are three installed, and we are unsure whether there will be more placed.



We also got a small sneak peek of some of the decor for the Tea Room, which appears to be some type of branch-shaped based with a glass top.

Upstairs Elevator​

Heading to the second floor, the center elevator now has wallpaper surrounding the elevator doors. Like other areas of the lobby, it is a mural depicting a scene with an archway, vines, flowers, and a bird perched on the fence.

There are goldtone sconce lights on the columns placed on each side of the elevator.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Lobby Continues Refurbishment​

Progress is coming along at the beloved resort, and the changes look great. The first update we noticed today is with the birdcage.

More of the birdcage bar is complete.

The team is also adding more to the bar top.

The old tea room is also still under construction, and we got a glimpse of workers behind the white curtains.

No details have been released on what the remodeled space will be used for in the future.

Here is another great look at the general construction happening in the lobby.

Once complete, the lobby upgrade project will offer a refreshed yet familiar space where guests can once again relax and enjoy the elegance of the Grand Floridian.

Refurbishment started in April and is estimated to be completed by November 2025– we can’t wait to see the finished look.

Im PRAYING the princess tea comes back to the tea room! I went as a little girl and would love to take my daughter!

Took boat from MK to GF then Mono to CR, I “to go” ordered from CR S71 while on the mono. So food was ready quick and o bit to see the lobby!

The colors look more blended in person. Lots of places for families to gather. The new bar looks pretty in person. Love the top finial!

It looks so gorgeous! I am on tenterhooks waiting to see if the whole lobby (not tea room area yet, I’m guessing) will be open soon. I check in 2 weeks from today!

How is the marble to carpet transition? I used to always trip on the elevated marble that made the transition before.

Good question. I was only looking to see if colors worked lol. I’ll think about it if I get back.

I will admit I’m missing being at GF. However this morning getting ready was such much easier with this layout at BLT. Kids still have V&A so it’s still a GF trip ish.
