Disney's Fascination with Raven

What's with Disney's fascination with Raven? She has got to be the most annoying teen on TV. Now, I'm watching the Food Network show about WDW and holiday food and she's the host.

I don't get it either. Couldn't stand her on The Cosby Show, can't stand her now.

She's been in TV too long--she's incapable of coming across as anything but stylized and plastic.

Well, her speech is very articulate, but she just is so forced. Maybe if she didn't try so hard, she would be less annoying.

She is a great actress - sit thru an entire episode of "That's So Raven" sometimes and see what this kid can do. How many kids her age can truly pull off the lead in a sitcom? She plays several different characters on one show with various forms of makeup and costuming. Like her or not she is one of Disney's Golden Kids right now. Hope she socks away her earnings for the days when she isn't on every show on TDC.

Thats one of the few shows I can watch w/ my 7 yr old dd. I would take Raven over Kelly Ripa any day of the week. Now she is one annoying Disney Woman.

I like her. How articulate she is--is how she is and it is refreshing--to me anyway. I thought she was cute on The Cosby show. And while we don't have TDC right now--the snippets I've seen, don't see what is so annoying about her.

How old is she anyway?

I liked her in Cheetah Girls too. (not too fond that Disney is trying to market the group as a real group--but it made for a cute movie).

She's one of the few Disney actresses I love. She cracks me up all the time and DD loves her too. I really like that she's not a skinny little lollipop actress.

i do like her disney show she funny and talented

We just finished watching Holidays at Walt Disney World on Food TV. DH, DD and I were just talking about how fake she sounds. Couldn't stand her on the Cosby Show and can't stand her now.

dont even bring her up.... I hate the current disney channel with a few exceptions, like even stevens ( the best show on that channel IMHO, even though its hardly ever on anymore) and phil of the future.

I only watch Raven's show because I like Chelsea. Her real name is Anneliese....that name sounds so princessey.

I agree Deb & Bill, I think Raven is very annoying. She seems so cocky, I did read on here on one of the threads a CM who met her at Disney and said she threw a fit when she didn't get something she wanted. I really was looking forward to the Disney special tonight, but really wish they had someone more likeable for a host.

I love her TV show. She has a wonderful make-up line and is a idol for young girls. Shes not running around half nude at the grammies like many girls her age and is funny. She is way better than Hilary Duff IMHO

Yup shes one of the few who hasnt gone freaking skinny.
