I am really interested in trying the Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf course, while we are in Disney World this Sept.!!! My question is since I have never been there before, how would one get there if we are staying at Disney's Bay Lake Towers Resort? In all my trips so far to WDW I have never seen a bus that has a sign saying it will take you there, but when I have been on the Disney's bus to go to the parks and such I have seen the miniature golf courses. Just have not figured out how one get's to them if you are staying at one of Disney's Resorts.

Also would love to hear more about from people have done this and pictures would be awesome as well!!!

One more thing I have heard of people buying golf balls, that say Disney's Fantasia Gardens and that it has a Disney Characters on it. Is this true? Do they have a gift shop there that sells these?

Thanks so much in advance!:thumbsup2

There are no buses that go directly to the miniature golf courses, but Fantasia Gardens is next to the Swan & Dolphin hotel (and Summer/Winterland is next door to Blizzard Beach). Easiest way from BLT would be to walk to the bus stops in front of the MK and catch a bus to the Swan & Dolphin.

Don't know about the golf balls, but they sell balls with characters on them in a store in Downtown Disney.

Can't help with how to get there. We drove in a car.

But it is a ton of fun!! Have no pictures...but it is really great. And doing it at night was good too. We could see fireworks.
They have a pitch and putt as well.

Going over to Fantasia Gardens is really easy. As pp, go to MK and take a bus to Swan/Dolphin. It's right across the street. Not even a 10 minute walk. There is a mini-golf course and a pitch and putt course. If you have an AP, it's a 50% discount. There is really no true "gift shop", it's more what surrounds the counter. They do sell character golf balls. Some are singles and some are in sets with tees but I have seen find the character golf balls on Main Street in MK, Goofy's ESPN store in DTD and the World of Disney store in DTD along with golf towels and club covers. Both courses are alot of fun. Give it a try.

There is no "pitch and putt" course at Fantasia Gardens.

There was in 2003??? Where did it go!!!

you are either being pedantic and saying that Fantasia Gardens is the mini golf course as PART of the overall "Fantasia minature golf" section...or didn't notice it....or your definition of pitch and putt doesn't meet the description of Fantasia Fairways below

This is from Allears

"In 1996, WDW opened Fantasia Miniature Golf, which consists of Fantasia Gardens, "The Hippo-est Golf Around," and Fantasia Fairways, "A Miniature Golfing Adventure." The two courses are located behind the WDW Dolphin on Epcot Resorts Blvd."

The Fantasia Fairways (for the more serious golfers) challenges with exaggerated contours, menacing water hazards and diabolical sand traps. The layout combines par-three and par-four holes ranging in length from 40 to 75 feet. Par is 61 and covers 1,445 feet

A pitch and putt is a course where you use a number of clubs. You "pitch" the ball with a lofted club, say a sand wedge or pitching wedge to a green then you "putt" it in the hole. At Fantasia Gardens you only use a putter. It is "mini-golf"

I'm just trying to give accurate info. If I went to a "pitch & putt" I would bring a variety of clubs. I just don't want anyone to go to the trouble of showing up there with several clubs and then find out it's really a miniature golf course.

Great research you've done, but, it doesn't say "pitch & putt" anywhere in the info.

So what do I call it then??:sad2::sad2:
I (and the other PP) call it that...
and it isn't mini golf. If I said mini golf to a friend they would NOT expect sand traps. I mean on a putting green at a golf course it isn't mini golf but you only use a putter.
So...:sad1:

You did the research and posted what Disney calls it. Why not just call it that?????

No reason to argue about it. It is MINIATURE GOLF. Like I said, I was only trying to correct the misinformation. If anyone that plays golf sees the term "Pitch & Putt", they are going to bring a variety of clubs to the venue. Fantasia Gardens is PUTTING ONLY, hence the term, miniature golf.

Fantasia Gardens is your typical mini golf, putt-putt style course.

Fantasia Fairways is like putt-putt on steroids. The holes are longer than a normal putt putt and it has water and sand features. This course would probably not be recommended for real little kids with no golf experience. Even though you just use a putter, the difficulty level is high.

Thanks so much! We will give it a try! Do you happen to know if you get a discount if you are a DVC owner or Disney Visa Card holder by chance? I will be sure to look at the counter for the character golf balls.

The last few times we have played Fantasia, they gave us Goofy Golf Balls and Grumpy Golf Balls as gifts. I seem to remember them selling a few golf related items, but, if I remember right, all the gift shops in the resorts sell something along that line. As does the sports shop in MK. AS for getting there, we've been going after a day at AK. We take the boardwalk bus from AK, get dinner at the Spoodles window (sadly closed now) and then walk over to Fantasia. We don't know what we will do now.

As for a photo, please note that the score on the left was me :goodvibes

I hope when we go they give us one of those golf balls as a gift!!! As I would love one!!!

That's an awesome score you got! I played miniature golf yesterday and got a 46 I thought that was pretty good since I had not played for a little while!

Didn't mean to start anything with the "pitch & putt." Anyway, the DVC discount is 15%.

I absolutely love the "Fairways" course. Is it a true "pitch and putt" no, because you simply putt. But its the only mini golf course I've ever been to thats designed to replicate a real golf course. I mean some of the holes you really have to whack it to get it there. The only problem with the fairways course, its incredibly difficult. Most of the bunkers have been removed, so its not as brutal as it used to be, but its still rediculously tough. I cant imagine how the course record is in the 40's, because its all but impossible. I'm a 4 handicap in real golf, and I've only broken 60 on this course a couple times. But thats what makes it so fun in my opinion, and I cant wait to go back.....

Oh and the last 2 times i've been this year they gave me a free golf ball with a character on it...

Sorry I didn't mean to go so far...I just LOVE Fantasia soooo much.

I know the ADVENTURE course is hard but I really enjoyed playing on something unique (to me at least) in such a wonderful Disneyfied experience.
People often say...oh you can play mini golf anywhere.....and I have

But Fantasia Gardens regular mini golf and the mini golf adventure are LOADS OF FUN!!!!!
:yay: :woohoo::cool1:

And it would be a nice idea to get golf balls...I will add that to my list:rotfl:

and the DVC discount is also nice to know...
:yay:

CORRECTION

Due to my 'stupid fingers' I wrote the wrong thing. I was the score on the RIGHT not the Left in my photo. We were playing the Putt Putt side, not the miniture golf side.

I beg forgiveness.

I think its like $8 but we get 50% off for DVC

Located within the Epcot Resort Area, Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course is a miniature golf course consisting of 2 courses: Fantasia Gardens and Fantasia Fairways. Although subject to change, prices are $11.75 per 18-hole round for adults, and $9.75 for children 3 to 9 years of age. Both courses are open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

So is the DVC discount 15% or 50%???? Given you paid $8 I'm guessing 15%???

My kids loved Fantasia Gardens, and we each got a Grumpy golf ball when we finished! LOL
One question though..could anyone tell me why there is that large area of ?circus tents/canopies? with nothing but a huge empty area underneath them all?? While we golfed, I kept looking over there wondering what such a large empty area could be for. It almost looked like covered waiting for some kind of event?? Anyone??
