Registration is now open for Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons Bridal Showcase on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at the Grand Floridian Convention Center. After you register ($15), you'll get a link to book a discounted room at the Contemporary ($261 + tax/night), Port Orleans French Quarter ($154 + tax) or All-Star Music ($88 + tax).

The format is a bit different this year. You can pre-register for seminars on menu planning and decor options that fill half the 4-hour event. There's also a food and wine seminar with "tastes" for $106.50 extra, which starts after the showcase is over and lasts 2 hours.

You can read about past bridal showcases HERE and HERE. To hear what other brides thought about last year's showcase, check out this podcast.

Is that rate available for your entire trip if you make a trip of it??? It just seems so cheap for the Contemporary!!!!

The earliest it lets you book is Sept. 26, and the latest it lets you stay is Sept. 28.

Does anyone think the Bridal Showcase is beneficial to Escape Brides?
It seems like a once in a lifetime experience, but I don't want to feel out of place!

I definitely don't think you'll feel out of place—nobody knows what type of wedding anybody else is having! But it's hard to say whether it would be worth making a trip for if you're on a budget. The decor and food seminars would definitely be helpful if you're planning to add a private reception or additional floral and decor. If they have them this year, the cake samples could help you choose flavors for your cake, and they may have sample Escape cake designs on display again. But if you're going for the basic Escape package with no upgrades, it may not be worth paying for a special trip to attend the showcase.

How likely is it that they'll have another in 2015? I believe they skipped 2012. Is this year's too early for a 2016 wedding?

It's hard to say without seeing how well-attended this year's is. I don't think it's too early to go if you're planning for 2016 because the main thing that's going to change is the price, and they don't ever talk about that at these things! :teeth:

For example, even with the dramatic changes to the way they price Wishes weddings, which occurred a few months after last year's showcase, nothing you had been able to see and do at that showcase changed. There's still going to be cake and food and floral and decor and photography and videography in 2016. Plus, if you buy a ticket, you can schedule a meeting with a planner, something you may not be able to do otherwise if your 2016 wedding is more than 18 months out.

When I registered I did notice the mention of the sessions with planners and that they filled up fast but I didn't see how to sign up for said sessions. Any ideas? Do I just wait and hope for an email on the subject?

For any bridal showcase noobs like me out there, Disney gives you your resort confirmation number about 72 hours after you make the reservation.:teeth:

Can you add dining to those discounts?
I may have convinced my mom! We are looking at The Contemporary...
I'm a Travel Agent, and I see that Free Dining is also out for those dates.

What is everyone else doing?

No, room-only discounts like the one for the showcase and the free dining promotion room-and-ticket package cannot be combined.

Lurkyloo - thanks so much for posting this! I will already be down there for my engagement visit from, and I was planning on checking-out on the 27th...now I can extend the trip for one more day and do some fun research in the process, plus stay at the GF (which I have yet to do)! Perfect!! :goodvibes

My sister and I are going! She's my MOH. We're so excited to go!

I'm going to the showcase but I'm super sad that I was only able to register for one of the seminars! :(. Apparently one if them is full! I'm making a special trip to go to the showcase and I have a site visit booked.
