Disney's Doorway to Dreams opening in New York

Following the success of Disney's Doorway to Dreams in suburban Chicago's Woodfield Mall, Disney Vacation Club is scheduled to open a second location later this summer in Long Island, N.Y.

The new Disney's Doorway to Dreams will be located in the popular Roosevelt Field mall, an expansive property located in the nation's premier metropolitan area, where it serves an immediate trade area of 1.5 million consumers in more than 500,000 households.

Like the Chicagoland location, the new Disney's Doorway to Dreams will feature a full-scale model of the two-bedroom vacation home accommodations Members find at Disney Vacation Club Resorts. The 6,900 square-foot location also will feature an interactive family vacation discovery zone, comfortable discussion areas, a supervised children's play area and an eye-catching flat-panel screen displaying glasses-free 3-D images.

Got the same email. Not close enough to work at but definitely close enough to visit for events. Here is the email if anyone is interested:

It's like two towns away from me & definitely close enough to consider working at at least part time. I checked out the actual Position offer. It is posted as DVC Sales Guide. The required qualifications include a "minimum of 3 years direct professional sales experience." I unfortunately don't have that qualification. I would even consider being a greeter/ice cream scooper.

That's exactly what I was thinking! I live 5 minutes from there but I don't have the qualifications or the flexibility they want but I can't wait to see it!

Darn! That is terrible. I was only able to get there once, but what a fantastic place. And they do a booming business there! Darn darn darn.

it is due to the rent in that area. Super expensive. I heard they may open a smaller store near time square

i'm trying to talk my dh into applying. we live nearby and go to this mall all the time. he has the qualifications, i don't, however i still think i'd be better at it since i'm the dvc expert in this family

Great news! When do they open?

I live on Long Island and I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning. This particular radio station was broadcasting from WDW and the DJ was sitting with Jim Lewis who said it would be opening Aug. 1st, 2009.

OK Long Island is big could someone give me a town. How far from say Suffolk County? Thanks, have relatives and thinking I would love to go visit one day.
