Welcome to the CONTEMPORARY RESORT Thread!

I'm starting a new Contemporary Resort thread as the old one has become quite outdated with many broken links on page 1. Also unlike 10+ years ago - in today's world nearly every aspect of Walt Disney World is covered on endless blog, vlog, influencer, and various social media sites. As time has gone on and the way people consume information has changed, these resort discussion threads no longer really have the need to be "mega" sources of resort information like they were at one time - and keeping them current is nearly impossible for even the most die-hard fan.

I'll keep a few basic first few posts updated, but for now this will be the new CR thread.

I posted this over on the BLT thread as well, but FYI:

Was at CR over the weekend and visited the temporary Community Hall by the CR pool. Frankly hadn't realized it was in a temporary spot until we walked over to BLT and were redirected. FWIW the CMs said they didn't have a date, but some had gotten a walk through of the renovated space so thought it would be 'any day now', again for whatever that is worth.

The BLT bridge was also still closed at the time.

Yay for the new thread. We are booked Labor Day week CL at CR and can't wait. We stayed CL there last September for the first time and were just overwhelmed by how much we loved it.

Hoping to book for September at BLT and very excited to stay at CR again! Debated between Poly and VGF but I don’t want to deal with lobby construction at GF and Poly seems so busy! Excited to see the new thread!

You do know that the BLT Villa updates may not be done until Sept. 2025. There is other work ongoing at the CR, Convention Center and they may be closing the Skybridge between BLT and the 4th floor A-frame concourse intermittently.

We do know that work may be finishing up at BLT but are hoping it will mostly be done by late September. As for the skybridge, that’s not as big a deal for us. But good to know!

Can’t wait for our upcoming stay! Any idea when community hall will reopen? I’ve heard they are doing the art activities elsewhere for now.

I was there last weekend and the “community hall” was still in the temporary space at the CR Marina. CMs said some had gotten a walk through of the new CH and thought it would be sometime soon. TBD in specifics of course.

Relaying a post from our DVC friends on the Bay Lake Tower thread regarding the bridge/Community Hall. FYI.

Here now and I can report the bridge is open and the lower floors on the south side are complete. We have a refurbished resort view studio. The guy at the check in desk told me when we arrived this morning I would probably get a refurbished room b/c the other side would be closing Sunday for the next phase and our reservation is longer than that. So assuming he is correct they plan to start the North side Sunday beginning with the lower floors (since we had a resort view booked which are the lower floor rooms. Also community hall has reopened.

I tacked on a couple of nights at CR on the front of my annual Labor Day weekend Swolphin stay after snagging a nice AP discount on a tower room, lake view. Looking forward to finally staying here after many fits and starts. My plan is to hit up the Halloween party while I’m there.

Is the pool that’s under construction through May 2026 the one that is connected with the main tower ?
