Regarding the rehab to the south wing that is now in progress....does Disney book rooms in the wing while the rehab is going on? For example if we go in early Oct (the rooms are slated for completion 10/31) would they put people in the rooms that have already been redone while working on the last remaining rooms or do they totally close down the whole building until the very last room is done?

Glad you had a nice trip! I sure the renovations will take care of those problems.

We've stayed at the CR 2 times and never received towel animals either. Maybe these mousekeepers were never taught. :confused3 No biggie!

Here's my towel animal experience during out stay last May...

After returning to our room on the second day, I casually mentioned to DH that they didn't leave any towel animals so he wrote a note asking mousekeeping about them without my knowing and left it on the pillow before we headed out for the day. When we got back that afternoon, I was shocked (and very happy) to find three swans on the bed and another three little birds in the bathroom. :goodvibes We ended up getting different animals almost every day for the rest of our stay. :flower:

If you want to get a discount on the 14th fl regular room, I would suggest going out to allears.net every morning (early) to check if there are any updates on discounts. Sometimes they will hear something and give you a heads up, sometimes not. The past two times we stayed on the 14th floor, I was lucky enough to get a discount, but I also called first thing in the morning when the discount came out.

We love the 14th floor and the CM's there.

Hi all,

Can someone explain the difference between Garden view standard, garden view, tower, and wings to me please?

We are looking into a trip in late 2006 and wanted to do maybe 2 nights at CR but we mainly want to stay there because of the views of the MK and the water and will be very disapointed if we're stuck looking at a parking lot.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Sheri

I am no CR expert but Tower rooms are in the actual A framed building of the Contemporary. They can have views of either the MK/castle or bay lake.

The wings are 2 buildings separate from the main building. The north & south wings as they are called are 3 story buildings that can over look bay lake, gardens, or parking lot.

The price for the wings is lower than the tower.

Hi Sheri,

xxxx tower
*** *** standard view overlooking parking lot
* * garden view
* * garden view
* * garden view
* * garden view
*** *** rooms overlooking lake, Jr suites, I think

We've stayed in both the North wing and the tower. We had a great view of the fireworks from our room. (garden view) If you can swing it, the tower has the best views. However, if I was watching my $$$, I would not hesitate to stay in the wings.

Thanks. :) Like I said, it is a ways off, but we'd love to try it next year. :) We'll hope for the Tower but if it's going to be too much when we get our whole budget put together, we'd be happy with the wings it seems. :) I love the idea of taking the boat to MK. :)

I am booked for the 14th floor CR in July :cool1: . I hear they are rehabbing the rooms at CR. Does anyone know if the 14th floor is completed, if not, do you know when it will be?

Shari,
No boat from CR to MK. It's the monorail or walk only. The boat (blue) goes CR/FW/WL (any order).

4Disney, When we stayed on 14 in Sept, it was not rehabbed. I know it was in the works. I do not know when it is scheduled. We loved 14, though, since it's so close to rehab, I'd wait until it is finished before staying again.

the boat doesn't complete the circuit and go to MK? or can you change boats at FW or WL to get to MK?

You could get off at either FW or WL and take the larger, Green boat to the MK. It would diffently be the "scenic" route. ;)

The boats are fun, especially on a hot, humid day.

I have the exact same question. We just booked CR Garden Wing for October 1st, and I am wondering where they will put us if they will have both the South and North Wings under construction at that time. I am hoping they will be putting people in some of the new rooms by then, but I could be wrong. Anybody know? Thanks! :confused3

Hey guys,

I have a question about the day beds. My 11 DD will be sleeping on one when we go in August and I am not sure if I need to bring a sheet/blankets/pillow for it. We did stay at CR back in 1995 - but we did not use the day bed.

Just wanting to make sure she has a comfortable place to sleep!! :lovestruc

No need to bring linens for the day bed :) My sleeps very comfortably on it, and she is almost 13. Have a great trip!

Hi,

I posted this on another thread but I think this might help with your questions. I made a ressie for the CR Garden wing from 7/2-7/9 back in January. I just got a phone call yesturday (6/2) and was told that my room was about to start its reno and would I mind moving to the Poly for my vacation. I said I could not afford $315 a night and she said you do not understand we will move you and no additional charge. So basically they upgraded me for free!!! I am actually quite excited about this since the Poly was my 1st choice and we couldn't afford it so we ended up booking the CR.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, LuvAriel. Hopefully they will have some of the new rooms opened up by October, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. I wouldn't mind staying at Poly either. Congrats on the upgrade! How exciting for you! We'll be checking into SSR on the day you leave (7/9). Looks like we will just miss you! Anyway, have a really fun time. If you hear anymore about the CR rehab, please post. Thanks!

I've read that there is no kids club at CR. Is that true??? If it is, can we use the kids club at other resorts? DH and I would really like to go to CA Grille without the kids.

Hey Beth :wave2:

There is no kids club at CR but you can get the Fairygodmother's to come to your room and watch your boys. It really isn't that expensive and your child will have one on one care. :)

just saw the pictures of the renovated rooms,wow! When will it be open to public? Has anyone heard? Thanks!!

Correct, the kids club closed around last Oct. (I wonder if was due to the renovations.) There are kids clubs at WL, GF, and the Poly.
