All of the Bay Lake view rooms in the tower you can see the Water Pagent from.

We walked out to the dock to watch the EWP last September. It is right there and we had a great view of it.

I just booked my package for 12/7-12/15 and it is a big splurge for us to stay at deluxe!!! I didnt know about the construction until I called but she said it was just in one section and shouldnt be a big deal so I think that will be fine.

But I requested North Garden Wing (standard view) and she said no problem but I'm reading here there there is no more North wing, so since we will be in the South Wing how much further is the walk to MK and the restaurants in the main building? What area can I request since I'm just doing the standard view??

Also is the Food and Fun quick service restaurant going to be closed in December? They didnt tell me about that.

No matter what we cant wait to stay at a Deluxe and on the Monorail we just love riding this

With a Standard View you will more than likely have a view of the parking lot and the back of the Convention Center (or Centre if you're Canadian, or British, or Austrailian or ...)

The South Garden Wing is not that much difference in terms of walking, so I would not worry about it.

We just stayed in the South Wing, Garden View. Check the Unofficial Guide Book and it tells you exactly which rooms overlook the parking lot. We were in room 6108, which was ground floor as far away as you can be from the main building, and we had no problem walking to MK.:cool1: Also, you could look at the resort map at the DIS Contemporary page and see where you might like to be.

Regarding the Electrical Water Pageant, seeing it is okay but don't you want to hear the music? :charac2: We watched from the beach. I've also heard some people say to catch the water taxi close to the time and you get a great view from the boat. They say it passes the Contemporary at 10:05 but it was a little past that, which was great for us because we had to literally RUNN! from the Liberty Tree Tavern to get there. (The only ressie available that night was 8:55 pm and we still made it!):crazy2:

Oh yeah, and the Food and Fun area we didn't even use. We brought cereal and plastic bowls with us, and bought milk in Sundries shop. They sell beer and snacks, too. Enjoy!:thumbsup2

Does anyone know what kind of food is going to be available at the temporary 4th floor counter service? I mainly concerned about what will be there for breakfast foods and being able to get a refillable mug and being able to refill it. Plus my kids and I love getting a desert at the end of the night before we head to our rooms, will they have any treats like at the normal counter service places?

No one knows 100% what the temporary counter service will be selling, however chances are they would serve cold food like they did when the counter service locations at the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge were being renovated.

Like I said before the Contemporary Sand Bar might be selling the refillable mug, because that is what they did back in January 2000 when the Food & Fun Center was closed for a minor renovation. I will also say again another plus with the Sand Bar is they would sell a lot of the items that the Food & Fun Center would, so you don't have to rely on the temporary counter service location. The only negative thing about them is they don't sell breakfast items there.

Does anyone know if the MK View rooms have been discounted in the past. Have a trip booked from 12/8 - 12/15 MK View. It is pretty expensive right now and would love a good code.
TIA.

Yes, we've gotten an AP discount for an MK view room. Have also been disappointed in waiting for a code and ended up paying rack rate.

We went in may. rate was 445 / night - AP discount brought it down to 344 / night.

Just make sure you keep checking for when AP discounts are released and call right away. You might want to check the historical release dates for these discounts on mousesavers to see when they've become available in the past.

Hi! I just booked 2 nights at CR Atrium Club for the end of our August trip. I hadn't wanted to stay anywhere for a mere 2 nights, but I changed my mind...we will just pack a separate overnight bag :laundy: I am very, very excited! DD has never stayed at the Contemporary. I have stayed there three times (never club level) - twice as a teenager w/ my family and once in my 20s as a babysitter :hippie:
I was so excited to see the room pop up w/ the Passholder rate:thumbsup2 I have Standard - Atrium Club booked. Of course, I would love to have an MK view for my daughter's sake. Should I request this? Might I be put in a room w/ Bay Lake views? I know from spending time in the bar at CR ;) that the Bay lake view is very beautiful and peaceful. However, who wouldn't prefer a view of the MK?
What else should I know about Atrium Club? I have searched but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info...

Thanks in advance!!

yes, put in a request for MK view. You have a 50/50 chance of getting one. The view is amazing. We stayed Atrium Club last September and had the MK view. We loved the 12th floor. If you do get Bay Lake, the concierge food area has 2 or 3 balconies and a wall of windows overlooking the MK. Have fun!

Not sure if you knew this but when you arrive at the Contemporary tell the Cast Member working at the bell stand you are staying on the Atrium Club. They will call them to say you and you're family have arrived and then a bellman will take yo and you're family along with your luggage up there to check-in, so you don't need to do this in the lobby.

Thank you very much for the information:thumbsup2 I must admit, it's nice not having to wait in a potentially LONG line at check-in princess:

Thanks! I will put in my request for an MK view but at least now I know we'll have great views from the Lounge :wizard: Do you have any pics from your stay that you'd be willing to share?

All my pics of the lounge, food, and my panoramic MK view are on Deb Wills site under the CR pictures. www.allears.net She posted them there after our Sept 06 trip.

My daughter and I have to move from AKL, savannah view.
We will be in Disney 7/16-7/23.
She is disappointed since she loves animals, so I am trying to make the right decision on where we should move.
Our first choice was polynesian, but nothing is available.
We have been offered a room in the contemporary garden wing, I think with a garden view.
Any input on this area is appreciated. We've never stayed at the contemporary, so I don't know a lot about the hotel.
Have all the rooms been renovated?
Do you feel this is an acceptable offer considering we've had reservations for almost a year?
Any comments on the garden wing are appreciated.

How do you feel about the contemporary verses a resort like the Yacht or Beach Club? Assuming they would have an opening.

Thanks.
