We will be staying in a garden wing if we want to see wishes from the CR where is the best place to go? I know we probably won't be able to see it from the garden wings. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We stayed at CR from 19th -26th and WOW what a great time and a great place.

Happy to answer any questions

We had a MK view on the north side of the floor

Overall had a great trip full of family memories and LOTS of pixie dust

There's a large viewing balcony just off the Grand Canyon Concourse, with the accompanying music played softly over the speakers. You can access it on the north end of the concourse, just beyond Fantasia. There'll be two doors leading outside, and there are some benches out on the balcony.

Alternatively, you can actually use the tower access stairs and watch from up there.

Glad you had a good trip. We'll be there next month in the Atrium Club. How was the food? What was offered? Did you get any pictures?

Hey RedSoxMickey....glad to hear you had a great time!!

Can you please tell us about the location of the Lounge on the 12th floor?? I'm excited to know what it looks like!! I understand they used 3 rooms to make up the lounge....is it safe to assume that the view can be seen from windows that stretch the length of 3 rooms??? Is there a balcony that is the width of 3 rooms?
Also, I might have misunderstood previous posts....I was under the impression that since the renovations....the lounge food "spread" was the same at the 14th floor Concierge. Did you happen to notice evening cordials, maybe cheese and crackers?? Is there still a difference between floors?
Thanks! ;)

We just got back from the 12 in July. We were there for the grand opening. There are 3 balconies that all face the mk, you can sit out there I think there was a small bench. The lounge is large and has 2 sort of separate rooms. The left side is the food and a small table for kids and tv. There is a couple of tables and a couch and chairs. Then a wall separates the area, not a full wall about 3/4 of one. You can walk around the wall and there are more tables and another couch. There is a large flat screen tv. The decorations are very upscale, beautiful vases and such.
I have never stayed on the 14 but I was told the food offerings were the same. The breakfast was muffins, cereral and fruit. Then through out the day were cookies brownies pretzels. Also a lot of different pop and some smalll bottled water. In the evening there was cheese and crackers and beer and wine, then Baileys and Kaluha. We really enjoyed it!
Lynn in IL. :yay:

I had only been to the CR for Chef Mickey, Concourse and Cali in the past and not that often so I do not have a good frame of reference. Everything looked fine to me. Some work was happening on the first floor that I noticed due to a couple of temporary construction walls being up at the back doors on my way to the pool area.

The Lounge was a good size. I guess about 3 rooms. I am not one that needs a sweatshirt often but wow was it kept cold. Very noticable in the morning. I would open the balcony door and place a table and chair close to the door so I would not freeze. I did a soft complaint and heard others complaining as well and on the last morning either I was getting used to it or they changed the temperature because I was fine.
The balcony was fine and long but not very deep. About the depth of a room balcony.
We enjoyed the lounge and the staff was great.
Yes they had plenty of evening cordials and my favorite Amstel Light - Yes to the cheese and crackers as well. I was told work was being done on the 14th and that expected it to be open by September 1st. I would guess the food is the same as they are doing on the 14th. I was just not that impressed with the food.

Somebody else had posted that they had small plastic bottle of waters for their trip. We did not and they where not available. We did ask and it was no problem for us to take back a large bottle to our room so we had water when we needed it in our room.

Can anybody tell me about how long check-in takes? We are hoping to check-in at 7am because we have an ADR for the CP at 8:05am and don't want to miss it. Will getting there at 7 give us enough time to check-in and get over to the MK before 8? I know there is a walkway that we can take which should only take 10-15 minutes by foot.

Also, can anyone tell me about the Christmas decorations? We are arriving on Dec 8 and will be staying in the tower. We were booked at the Poly, but then my girls saw the pictures on here of the MK view from the tower room and that was it, we had to switch. I was just curious how they decorate for Christmas. I've seen a few pics of the lobby, wreaths and pointsetias, etc, but haven't seen a tree or anything. :) Thanks

We just came back from CR YESTERDAY! We loved the resort, except the food and fun center. The Fun center was great but the food left something to be desired. Compared to other WDW resorts we have stayed at the menu is VERY limited. The seating area definately needs to be expanded. Many times we bought food and then spent 10 minutes waiting for a table to open up. Meanwhile those of us with hot food ended up eating it either standing up or when we did sit down we had to warm it up in the microwave. We had great meals at Chef mickey's and the concourse grill. We were not able to get up to the california grill.

We had a 6th floor tower room facing bay lake. I would recommend this view to anyone. The renovated room was wonderful. Plasma screen TV, comfortable beds and a stunning bathroom. It was nice to have the Electrical Water Pagent come by every night and be able to watch it from our balcony. It was nice and relaxing to sit out there and also be able to watch some of the fireworks from illumintions from the room. Being a monorail hotel does have it's perks but the drawback is that's it's a great excuse for the kids to go back to the MK. "But Mom, it's only a ride on the monorail and the park doesn't close for another hour and half!" The word "relaxation" is not in my families vocab. The bus transportation to the other parks was generally good except for the one bus driver taking us to Blizzard Beach. HE GOT LOST!!!! We circled the Speedway a total of 10 times before we finally were on our way. we got on the bus at 8:20 am and didn't get to Blizzard beach until 9:10 am. A waste of our magic hour!!!!!

Overall we had a great trip and would definately stay there again.

I haven't seen more than one person queuing in line for check-in at the CR. At the worst, our longest check-in took five minutes, including queuing. That doesn't necessarily mean your room will be ready (and the odds are surely against you at 7 AM), but you should be able to get fully checked-in within 10 minutes of your arrival.

hi, if after you check in early and your room is not ready,is there anywhere that you can store your bags, we are staying on the 12th floor(dont know if that makes any difference), thanks susie2

Yes you can store your bags. Be sure to let the bell hop know you are stayin in the Atrium Club. They will take you straight to the concierge on the 12th floor to check-in.

They'll greet you at the car when you tell the valet you are checking in.
