FYI, a new BLT pool closure notice has been added to CR’s hotel and villa site. Te Villa site still also references a 9/30 through December closure of the Bay Lake Pool at CR, although that notice still doesn’t appear on the hotel-side website for whatever reason.

From January 26, 2026 to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool and the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy.

Yes Disney updates are not consistent at the resorts. Another good example is the BC has the details on the closure of SAB from January 2025 through June 2025. While the YC only mentions guest room refurbishments with Zero mention of SAB!

This makes me wonder if this new notice for BLT and CR is really for 2026 since BLT refurbishment starts today. Maybe a DVC member can check with Member Services to confirm.

For our November trip, we are going to have 9 people spread across two garden wing rooms with resort views. I've given into the children and purchased MB+ for everyone. Are there USB ports in those types of rooms so that we can charge them each night? If so, any idea how many? Thanks!

Im not sure about those rooms specifically, but 4 of us in one room 3 weeks ago at Coronado found that with all of our bands, apple watches, phones etc charging at night, bringing a power strip was a great idea.

So, when did the Olympiad Fitness Center get this beautiful refurb? Or am I losing my marbles and it’s been like this? I stayed here not long ago. Most of the equipment seems brand new.

Most of the Incredibles artwork has been replaced by modern art of the Contemporary, heavy on blue color scheme. Possible sneak peak of what the Bay Lake Tower refresh will look like?

Me too. I love that look of the first floor. I hope they continue it on the second floor. The Grand Canyon concourse really needs a refurb.

Yes with the last remodel they have added lots of usb charging ports. Here are a few pix.

Cool find, that’s the first I’ve seen/heard of it. I haven’t used it since last fall, and that’s definitely seems renovated from my recollection. How do the showers/locker rooms look? Last I was there they were like 2-3 renovations ago!

Just booked a stay at CR in April 2025 and have a few questions.

1. Does CR share busses with WL to both AK and HS?
2. Who is picked up/dropped off first with shared busses?
3. Do you find the shared busses to be crowded?

There have been times when I’ve had direct buses back & forth (busy times of year or early park openings), but often seem shade with WL to HS. CR gets picked up 2nd and dropped off 2nd. I’ve never found the buses too busy. The bus there in the morning is busier, but we’ve always been able to get seats. We usually head back around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and they usually aren’t busy. A few times we’ve had to wait at the stop a bit for the bus though (they don’t seem to run as often midday).

Thanks! We’ve stayed at WL before and I thought they shared with FW, maybe that was just for Epcot. I can’t remember! Good to hear you haven’t had issues with overcrowding on busses for the most part.

Agree with @jemtx . Usually busy times bus is for resort only and quieter times you share but it is pretty quick. I stay at both resorts and enjoy getting a peek at the resorts.

We also use the midday multi drop to visit the other resort to shop, explore or eat. After 3pm you can use the boat to get to/from CR and WL if interested.

Good idea to go shop and check out WL! Glad to hear the boat is running again, it was not when we were there a few years ago.
