Can anyone tell me the times you can expect your room to be ready at BLT? I know technically check in is at 4, but I want to get in around noon. Thanks in advance:)

I would not expect it before 4PM. Is it possible, yes but unlikely. DVC runs at greater than 90% occupancy and the Villas take longer to change over between guests. In all our DVC stays the earliest we have gotten in our room is 3:30PM.

Thank you. I guess we will hit up the park earlier:)

I am obsessed with CR since our stay last week! It was our first stay at CR and I loved everything about it! The walk to MK, the monorail view,Contempo and Chef Mickeys, watching the fireworks from the observation deck,......the list goes on and on! I really was afraid I wouldn't like it because it didn't feel/look very Disney, but I loved all of it!
I am so happy to read this. I have heard from 3 different people all the reasons I won't like CR, but I usually know what I like better than strangers do!! lol.
Did you have any problems with security between the hotel and the MK?

30 days until we are at CR!!

Any tips for CR with a toddler? I know it has a splash area and I am sure my son would just play there all day. He loved the one at the Poly but it was geared toward a little bit bigger kid so I actually like the simple one at CR lol! Is there a playground anywhere nearby? I know some DVC resorts have them but for some reason I feel like the monorail ones do not...
Happy Anniversary!

Security was a breeze. Easy peasy and quick. I hope you love CR as much as we did. It is my absolute favorite resort!

Ok, I'm really confused. We've been trying to find the possible room floor plan or pictures that might help us pick which room we'd prefer but I can’t seem to figure out what our reservation means. I’ve searched the forum and can’t seem to find out what a “standard” room is or what our reservation really means. Last time we were at WDW (May, 2002) the BLT didn’t even exist. As you can see below we're supposed to get a theme park view room for 2 adults. What the heck does that actually mean...other than a room facing the theme park? :D

Mike

p.s. since I can't seem to find a way to insert a screen grab from my pc I'll just list the info from my MDE page:

Deluxe Dining Plan
Check In: Monday, December 4, 2017
Check Out: Friday, December 8, 2017
Room Type: Tower - Theme Park View
Guests: 2 Adults

I would check-out post #5 from this thread - here's a link: Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT and BAY LAKE TOWER Information and Questions Thread Post #5

You're in the "Tower" which is the main CR building (the one the monorail goes through). Since you have a TPV room, your room will be on the west side of the building facing the 7 Seas Lagoon / MK. You'll be anywhere on the 6th-11th floor, although I'd suggest requesting a high floor. Most standard rooms have 2 queens but I believe there are a few with one king scattered about, if that's important to you (someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that).

Hope that helps, feel free to ask any questions! :thumbsup2

Interesting, when we called WDW to book, the room we discussion was about the BLT. The main CR Tower was never discussed and no rooms were available online at the time. We're going to have call and find out for sure but that actually makes a little more sense.

thanks, Mike

EDIT: We verified that it is the CR and not the BLT. We assumed that since we called about the BLT that's what we're getting.

Hmmm, I wouldn't think you have a BLT reservation given what you describe, but maybe I'm mistaken?

Nope, you were correct. We assumed that since we called about the BLT, that's what we booked. However, we verified that we are actually in the CR and NOT the BLT.

Thanks,

Mike
If it helps, we had tower theme park view and LOVED it. We requested higher floor with odd numbered room and got ninth floor and room almost closest to the side of theme park view. We were able to watch the fireworks from our beds (hence the odd numbered room) which made it so magical. I definitely think the extra charge for theme park view is worth it as we have two little ones which means we can't stay out at parks late. We want to do this again and thanks to GaDisneydad, we may do club level the entire trip

Ahh, yes, the odd numbered room. That's another great tip with a TPV room! :thumbsup2

Does the odd number room really matter that much. Looking at the pictures of the CR it clearly show viewing advantages but I'm not sure it's the angles really make that much difference.

Although, it's kinda hard to tell from google earth. :D

It ONLY matters to be able to sit in the bed and see the MK, which is somewhat silly and not really all that critical in the grander scheme of things. It's just a tiny nuance. This pic is a good example, the head of the bed is to the left.

Other than that, all TPV rooms have the same view.

That makes sense.
