We have a lake view room booked. I read to request odd number to see Epcot?! Is that right?
Also does online check in make it harder to get an upgrade??

After an amazing stay at the CR last month for my birthday, we are booked at the CR again for our upcoming May Trip to celebrate Mother's Day with my family! I'm so excited because we were able to get Standard View-CL this time. I can't wait to go back to my favorite resort . Our dates are May 7-11.

I hear there's some great places, over at GF. But I havent been to them.

So I really like receiving the emails from Disney entitled "You're one step closer to Walt Disney World Resort!"...

HAHAHA!!!

I make weekly payments to my balance and get these emails with each payment, so (while the bank balance goes down), the Disney balance goes down and I get cute little emails!!!



PLUS! Just upgraded our Base Tickets to Park Hoppers!!!

Popping in this thread to say hi! My dh has a work conference in April at CR. We are going KID-FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haven't been on a WDW trip w/o kiddos ever and haven't traveled without the kids in about 12 years and that was a very brief trip. I am so stinking excited!!!

It just came up yesterday so I am trying to figure out what we'll do. I'd like to do some special things that we wouldn't normally do with our 4 kiddos. Suggestions appreciated

Congratulations on the adults-only trip! Any of the Signature Dining venues would be a nice treat or maybe some of the tours or water excursions that you wouldn't normally do with children. I'll log your dates.

Our first stay at the contemporary is coming up in 45 days! I can't wait. We have a bay lake tower room booked. Any requests I should make?? Is it better to do online check in or wait till we get there??

Some like to request a high floor. Online check-in only inputs your credit card information prior to arrival and let's you select from a short list of generic requests. If you've already made room location requests, then it's not necessary to duplicate them with OCI. There's nothing wrong with doing OCI, but it's best to have any room requests added directly to your reservation by calling the WDTC/CRO. The OCI requests are sometimes limited or not even applicable to certain bookings. However, the Room Assignor will see all requests.

I think it depends on the room type?

Online check in is always better! Have fun... We'll be there in 5 days!

There's only one room-type bookable in the Tower as a Bay Lake View and OCI doesn't have any advantage over calling in your requests and having them added to your reservation. In fact, OCI limits your room requests to a pre-set list, but it is fun to do because it makes your trip seem closer

OCI has no impact at all on upgrades and yes, odd-numbered BLV rooms have the beds facing toward Epcot.

BLT opened in '09 and the villas have not yet been rehabbed. DVCs usually rehab every 7-8 years. BLT villas are slated to be rehabbed in 2016 according to the annual 2014 Owner's Meeting. Pool areas aren't on the same rehab schedule as rooms/villas.

Fun! DH & I had a kid-free conference trip a couple of years ago. Some of the things we did that we don't normally do when the kids are with us: a concert at the House of Blues; drinks at Raglan Road while just sitting & listening to the band; dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse; simply wandering slowly through World Showcase & enjoying a few adult beverages

I'm headed back to the Contemporary July 29-August 2 with my sister and 2 of our girls. Can't wait!

New Boards are coming!

We are moving our boards from the current software and servers to all new systems! We have been on this generation of software for a long time. There were a lot of reasons we were unable to move but we now believe we have found a great solution.

We are very excited to move to Xenforo! Xenforo ltd is run by a team we have known for a long time and they have done a great job with this product. We certainly wanted to wait until it was stable but we feel we are there and that this will provide a great solution for everyone especially our mobile users.

We are done testing the actual technical migration and Corey and his design team are now working on the new look.

It currently looks like the boards will shut down Sunday Morning 2/8 around 1am eastern time and reopen some time on Sunday 2/8 late afternoon/evening
There are a lot of factors that could affect the exact time.

I will start a thread on the tech support board if you have any questions please ask there!

Looking for an update on Top Of The World at BLT. We are renting points from a DVC member form out May stay. Are they letting folks up to TOTW without a membership card at the moment? Seems to go back and forth on whether they ask or not. Thanks!!!

The reservation number (407) 939-1936 and give them your confirmation number, they can add requests. Just remember they are not guaranteed.
