Is the sleeper sofa (in the deluxe garden wing) a lot less comfortable than the regular daybed?

Three guests, two adults and a child. I don’t believe we need anything extra that DVC may offer. We’ve stayed in many DVC and regular rooms and because we’re a small family the differences never really matter much.

I’ve read the BLT elevators can be a pain, but the garden wings looks so removed, and like a longer walk to MK. But views from BLT look superior.

While I have stayed at CR a bunch, I had never stayed at BLT prior to this past summer (thanks to Disney since Poly was closed). I have to say, I was very impressed. The bell folks out front and the CMs in the lobby were always warm/welcoming, the views were great.

I really enjoyed having all three pools as an option (something that isn’t an option for CR guests). The pool bar setup at the BLT pool is far superior to CR’s pool bar (which I rank as probably the worst on property). We’re pool people, so this carries some weight with us.

We used the BLT Community Room amenities quite a bit. My son thought shuffle board was boring at first but by day 2 he was asking for a rematch. :-)

We didn’t experience any elevator issues, seemed super fast and convenient to me. Granted this was right after reopening so probably not a fair comment.

Note I haven’t stayed in a studio, so can’t speak from experience on that particular room type.

Ignoring the room type for the sake of a decision since I can’t speak to the studio, I’d personally probably opt for BLT over the Garden Wing at the moment.

FWIW!

Oh so BLT pool is only for DVC? That’s good to know! We are big pool bar fans so that is notable as well. I have read about issues with elevators but we aren’t looking at a high travel time so hopefully that wouldn’t be an issue.

We have Garden Wing booked through Disney currently but keeping an eye on BLT as we weigh the options. Thanks for the input!

We have stayed in both and enjoyed both FWIW...still if I had more than 2 in my traveling party I would choose the CR garden wing over a BLT studio every time. I cannot overstate just how small the studios are at BLT—especially if you are using the pullout sofa. The GW rooms by comparison are quite spacious. Please make sure to watch a room tour video before making your decision. Our traveling party usually consists of my DH, DD (15yo but petite) and myself and we won’t stay in a BLT studio unless we don’t have to use the sofa bed. When it’s pulled out it pretty much touches the table and there are inches between it and the patio doors. You would have to climb over it to get to the balcony. It is tight to say the least. If you will make up the bed daily, it could work.

ETA: We have not had issues with the elevator while staying at BLT.

Yeah, BLT guests can use their pool and both CR pools. CR guests can’t use BLT’s pool (access is via MB).

Better listen to @Mzpalmtree regarding the size of the studio since I’m of no help there. Sounds small!

Looking into it and it seems the BLT studios are smallest on property. We are a small party of three but your points still resonate with me. Being cramped on vacation isn't fun. Neither room decor appeals to me, we are strictly staying for access to MK and California Grill so size may be what decides it. Although I can't wait to explain to my son why the bigger, better looking slide is off limits :headache:

Sorry to be a bummer. We love BLT and CR but we usually do studios so our frequent monorail resorts are Poly and VGF due to their studio sizes. If you go up to a 1br, BLT is awesome but I understand it’s a big price increase over the GW too. My daughter is a teen and she’s not so concerned about the pool’s fun factor and actually loves the quiet bullseye pool near the GW with the view of Bay Lake, but if I had a little guy I understand how that would be a factor.

Not a bummer at all! Really value actual information and experiences :) We'd prefer Poly, but no monorail + painfully slow boat service has us defaulting to Contemporary. Love those one bedrooms but can't splurge every trip!

Hello,
Will be staying 3 nights in the Main Tower-Theme Park View and then moving over to BLT one bedroom-Lake View for 5 nights.....in 2 weeks from now!
It will be our first time at BLT. I feel a little overwhelmed with a room request for BLT.

Can anyone recommend or suggest which side of BLT I should request. I don’t care about being close to the elevator, I am just hoping for a great view! I am assuming that means the highest floor possible for 1 bedrooms?
Bay Lake is my absolute favorite and I love sitting on the beach at Contemporary looking at it. Do some lake view rooms also have a view of the Contemporary building?
Thank you for any suggestions you can share!

This was our view from 8035. It is considered a lake view. View attachment 562099E641B5DA-A02F-4548-B594-E68869846E72.jpegView attachment 562099View attachment 562099562101

I would request even number, south side. Even number rooms are slightly larger and the south side has a view of the lake and CR.
This was a 2 bedroom but I imagine there are similar views for other room sizes.

Did you have a view of the full lake also? We have a dedicated 2 bedroom lake view villa & have never stayed at BLT. I'm confused what to ask for also. Could you see the electric water pageant from your room? What floor were you on?

I really enjoy a center-section, odd-numbered rooms which look straight out across the lake, so xx21 or xx27. I'd be wearing of other odd-numbered one-bedrooms. For even numbered rooms, xx04 and xx42 would give you the best views of the lake. Some folks really want to see the Magic Kingdom, and xx12 will give you a partial view. Higher is always better.

Check out a diagram of the room layout here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/b...nks-last-update-of-post-1-10-21-2015.2257082/

Yes, half of the view was the CR and half was the lake. It was very pretty and very peaceful especially at night when the CR was lit up. It was also a good view of the monorail running coming and going. You could see the electrical water pageant from both balconies and also heard the music. I was there in Nov 2019, so we could also see fireworks from across the lake which I think was Epcot. We were on the 6th fl. I originally wanted to be on the north end as that is the MK side, and sometimes lake view can also have partial MK view, but after staying in the room we had I would request that location again.

Does anyone know when the morning window opens for mobile ordering for Contempo Cafe? I'd like to preorder for a 7am pickup so I can start that walk over to Magic Kingdom by 7:40. Thanks!

Hmm MDE llist's Contempo cafe opening at 7 AM so I doubt you can pre-order before opening time just like other Dining options that allow Mobile orders but I await a firs hand report.

https://www.disboards.com/threads/b...nks-last-update-of-post-1-10-21-2015.2257082/This is an invaluable tool for BLT planning.

I prefer the outer c for pie shaped room, high numbers face CR/Seven Seas Lagoon on right, Bay lake left. The lower numbers face MK and a decent castle view on left, bay lake on right. The interior face pool with bay lake in distance.

Basically the TPV are the rooms over the entrance. Std are lower floors or ones with trees in way etc. Lake view on both inside and outside upper floors.

I don’t think there is a bad “lake” view. It’s just the views really do vary.

I have had 2 on outside , a TPV and an inside C as well. All were good views.

Thank you everyone! I reviewed many pictures but still feel a little confused looking at that chart.

I think we would prefer a lake view that is mostly lake when looking straight out and also able to see the marina area to the right. Is that possible? Is that the south side? Is that an even numbered room? Confused!

Also, we are renting points through a rental agency. Am I even able to make a request?
How do I do that? Same as with a hotel room through Disney?
Thank you!

No not through Disney. The member that you are renting points from needs to submit any "requests" via Member Services.

So you will need to contact the rental agency and they will have to contact the point's owner.
