Has only taken the monorail when it first opens over to MK? I know the walk is easier/faster, but my kids are obsessed with the monorail and we are only staying one night to go to MK before we move over to our DVC room at the Boardwalk. I am just wondering how crowded it is first thing in the morning.
We walked .

Every family is different.

Tell the kids you can get on more rides if we walk to MK then mono back. You can also just ride the whole mono loop at any time too . Maybe knowing they can go all around once may be a decent trade. From MK past CR once around and back to CR about 30 mins depending on how long they stop.

If you don’t plan to rope drop then it doesn’t matter anyways just take the monorail.

Also since you said one night why night ride the mono that night at some point then the morning won’t be as important ?

Again if they prefer mono over rides that’s your/their choice and just go with it.

That’s what’s nice about Disney , there is no wrong way to have fun :)

Hello I am very excited to be staying in the tower at the CR. I recently read that the wait for the elevator was as long as waiting for a park ride. I don't mind waking down the steps instead of waiting for an elevator in the morning, but not sure if I want to walk up the steps in the evening especially if I am put on a higher floor. Anyone no how many elevators there are and if they are crazy busy right now. Thank you for any responses.

For us the monorail is a ride.

Was there in August, really our only issue was the evening on the weekend. Even then there were about 5 groups ahead of me waiting for 5 elevators, (one of 6 is used only for CG).

It did not impact our vacation.

It looks longer with the 6 ft spacing vs actual line.

We always offered others to join us. All but one did, if you don’t want to share wait for the next one. People were really good about respecting people’s choices.

Thank you very much for the information trishadono. I ma really excited to stay there and I am more than happy to share the elevator.

Does anyone know how early you can get coffee at contempo cafe. Unfortunately, I'm usually up at 5 am these days.

anyone there recently knows the current hours of pools?

Labor Day weekend the feature pool hours across property moved to 10am-10pm, and based on reports around the boards I believe these are still accurate (although I always caveat things can always change and we may have just not had a latest report yet). The leisure pool (“Bullseye Pool”) standard hours are 7am-11pm, which has continued to be the case since reopening.

Hope that helps.

It opens at 7am. IMO your best bet is the in room coffee before then. Unfortunately. Although I have grown to like the in room Joffreys in the post COVID era of staying at WDW resorts, it’s actually better than I ever gave it credit before.

For those who have stayed in a garden wing - garden view room, do you have a favorite room or location? I know I want ground floor and was thinking of requesting as close to lobby as possible. It looks like there are some beautiful views though from those rooms facing the bay but I have heard they are far walk from lobby. Any room recommendations?

Just noticed they are listing Outer Rim as open now on Disney’s website. Anyone there now can confirm it’s opening today?

added: noticed on the Disney site that they added hours, but it seems to just be open Fridays and weekends right now.

I would stick with ground floor as main request. It would be nice to have that space. Also many of the rooms closest to the lobby are actually the hospitality suites. I had 3 doors for one room!!! LOL I kept using them all. They are the first ones in that wing.

I don't know compared to values and mods I don't consider the gw to be that "far" from the lobby etc.

In August I posted some p;x of the grounds at the GW. It was a short walk from the pool. Great if you plan of swimming or using the hottub.

Yes ground floor will be my main request. I was going to use Touring Plans room request and use room 5106 as the example of area I would like. Those bay views look beautiful though.

It's funny that Good's Food to Go is listed in the To Go places. Good's Food to Go is just the name of the place.

just noticed that the California grill menu changed a bit for for new season. We were planning on trying to get an adr in December but now we really don’t like too much on the menu. 😕
Think it’ll change again by late December?

Hi there! I've done some searching, but am still not sure if I have a true and correct answer...
We've moved our Wilderness Lodge December trip to Contemporary, Garden Wing, in November. Are the garden wing - standard view rooms DVC? Thanks in advance!

No, the Garden Wing is just regular resort rooms.
