Excited for our first trip to WDW and have book CR tower tpv. Noticed that garden wing garden view is now available for our dates for $1000 cheaper! Will I regret moving to garden wing? Is it much farther to walk to MK? Pros and cons anyone? Thanks! :-)

We loved the GW. Walk to MK is perhaps 1 minute longer :)

Super excited! Made the switch to Garden Wing - Garden View (really hard to overlook the $1000 difference) and the more I read, the more excited I get!!! Hate to admit this in the official CR thread, but I have a hard time overlooking the appearance of this resort. Lame, I know... but it just doesn't appeal to me like some of the other resorts do. That being said, I really want to love it, so would love to hear more great things about it!

I didn't have the option to add any special requests when I switched my reservation. Is that still possible? Would I just phone a week or so prior to our arrival date? I know they are just requests, but if it will make a difference, then I'd like to try. We'd really like to be as close to transportation and restaurants as we can, so would I just request to be as close to the main building as possible? Also heard that lots of people request non-adjoining room, as they tend to be quieter. Anything else that people normally request, that I should be aware of? Thank you so much, this thread has been a wealth of information! :flower1:

Yup.

You can call anytime from right now up until 4-5 days prior to your arrival.

That would be a good request.

I requested first floor with a view of the lagoon (called about 4 days prior to arrival to add this to my reservation). Loved having the patio and ended up with a view of both the lagoon and the pool. We were actually able to cut right from our patio to the pool, which was awesome. Our room was in the middle of the GW, but still steps from the tower - and actually faster to walk outside to get there than through the GW hallways.

I'm not a huge fan of the resort design either, but the rooms were beautiful and spacious, and you just can't beat walking to MK! We are Poly people, but switched to CR last fall in the heat of all of all the construction, and were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our CR stay. The dining options are fantastic, kids loved the pool/water slide and even caught the EWP from the beach one night. You will love it!!!

I think you'll love it. We find the GW to be very quiet and isolated compared to the craziness that is possible otherwise during your vacation. The walk to transportation is short- just through the main CR lobby. The pool is right next to the GW and is also very nice and usually quieter than other pools at WDW. We like the GW very much and also choose it to save vs. the tower. We'll be heading back in August.

Making my first stay at BLT on DVC points week after Thanksgiving. I have a themepark view and am curious as to what other requests anyone would suggest making. I've been taking Disney trips for the past 4 years and honestly wasn't too excited for this years until my waitlist request for BLT came through. Now I'm starting to get on my own nerves!:sad2:

Just got back from our BLT stay last week. What a view! Theme park on one side and lake on the other.
Thanks for all your work and links Kook! The room views link is fabulous. I printed it off and had it in hand for my first, second, third room choices.
Really nice Cast Member Bud met us when we got there and was nice enough to find our first choice! :) Here's a view from the Balcony of 8008. Lake is on the right
but this was my favorite part. FWIW we preferred the studios at BLT over the regular rooms at CR. Everyone's different but it worked perfectly for us.

Would you mind sharing the room view link? I've been looking all morning for it. We have a 1 bedroom Lake view booked but I know there are some Lake View rooms that also have a MK view.

We are leaving Saturday for our week long Disney vacay at BLT! Im sooo excited. We have the Deluxe Studio MK View Room...one question, will there be an iron in the room? Also is the freezer section of the fridge large enough to hold ice packs?
We will be arriving sometime around 7:30am, Im not counting on our room being ready but do you think its safe to leave all of our luggage at the front desk or should we leave it in the car until we get the call that our room is ready?

Yes, there's an iron in the room.

Not sure about the freezer.

You wouldn't leave your luggage at the front desk. You would leave them with Bell Services. We prefer to do that instead of leaving them in the car.

Great, thank you!
One more question...we decided to book an extra nights stay after Disney released their 24 hr event while back, but couldnt add onto our current room that we had booked due to availability so we are having to switch resorts for one night but its only to the Contemporary, so I didnt think it would be that big of a deal. Can the resort transfer our luggage to the CR from BLT? Im planning on just packing a nights worth of clothes to transfer to the CR instead of lugging all of our weeks long stuff with us and leaving the rest of it in the car overnight. Do you feel like its safe to do that?We obviously wouldnt be leaving valuables in the car just clothes and a stroller.

Yes, they will transfer them for you. Normally, you shouldn't expect your luggage to arrive at resort #2 until around 4 or 5 PM. But with you staying within the same property, I would assume it would be sooner. But I just don't know for sure as I've never done it like that.

Big Happy Mother's Day to Queen Kook of Bay Lake and all of her followers!!! :daisy:

Hi pas.....hope things are going well with you :flower3:.

We enjoyed our stay so much that after the possible disney wedding. We will look at buying into blt along with our okw

Glad you had a great stay. Hope everything works out with buying into BLT.

Just got back from our BLT stay last week. What a view! Theme park on one side and lake on the other.

Awesome view :wizard:.

Hey KOOK :)......how's the August trip planning going?

Congrats on the savings, that amount is hard to overlook. We've never stayed at the CR due to the theme/decor and not really seeing any appeal to it, but after seeing lots of pics and reading great reviews of the resort, it is on our list to try ;).

We are Poly people as well and while the CR doesn't have that "wow" factor to us as far as theme/decor, I am looking forward to trying it on a future trip.

Everyone's different, but if it were me, I'd leave my luggage with bell services instead of in the car. I'm sure it would be safe in the car, but my preference would be to take it into the resort.

Yes, Disney will transfer your luggage from BLT to CR. I, personally, would take all my luggage with me to CR, but if you would rather not have all of that extra baggage, I'm sure it would be safe in the car. It's just a matter of personal preference. Have a great trip :wizard:.

Hi mickeynut and Kook :grouphug: All is good in the hood, happy to see mousemommy (AKA former RC Candace) and her crew had a great trip with the new little Prince! I have abandoned ship on the RC thread as I have no RCs to report LOL. Halfway through my last term for my BSN, 90 days until BC CL. Are you still doing Poly in August? (Sorry for the hijack Kook)

DH and I are currently booked at BCV for mid-September of this year. But we have stayed at BC/YC for our last four trips and I think I might want to try something new. I was looking through the pictures of CR on Disney's website and the bathrooms look really nice. They also look bigger than the BC/YC bathrooms which I think are cramped in the toilet/shower area - anyone have any experiences with both resorts and could compare for me? Or just an impression of bathrooms at CR in general?

Also, how easy is it to get to Epcot from CR time-wise - it seems like two monorails would go pretty fast, but having never stayed at a MK resort before, we weren't sure. I just want to confirm - there is no way to walk from CR to the TTC right?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!:disrocks:

Hey pas....glad everything is good with you.....congrats on nearing the end of school for your BSN :thumbsup2. Your trip will be here before you know it and I know you'll have a great time :goodvibes. We are no longer at the Poly in August, but rather the GF :rolleyes1. The trip is tentative and will probably be a last minute decision, but it's good to have something booked just in case. Hope you're planning is going well, I'm sure you'll have a great time at the BC :wizard:.

I agree that the bathrooms look like they are a nice size. We've never stayed at the CR, but the rooms are the largest of the deluxe resorts (comparable to the Poly and GF) and are quite bit a larger than the BC rooms, so I'm sure the bathrooms are slightly larger as the room is larger :).

It's easy and not too time consuming (IMO) getting to Epcot from the CR as the TTC is the first stop after leaving the CR. Also, you are correct that you cannot walk to the TTC from the CR. The only walking path from the CR is to the MK ;).
