Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

What is the mix of your group? The Hawaii CL lounge is very often a busy happening place while the GF CL lounge is a much quieter place with more upgraded food selections, and very spreed out seating options.

Dave
Thanks! This would just be us (parents) and one teenager. The only reason I was thinking Poly was the ability to walk to TTC for EP monorail.🚝

GF all the way. Poly is very chaotic. I used to be a diehard Poly fan. I've aged out!
Kids at GF are monitored a bit more closely by the parents than at Poly. (JMHO)
Thanks! I’ve never actually stayed at either resort, but always wanted to try one of their clubs. We always stay at CR and CR CL. I love CR and CR CL just wish the lounge were a little bigger and roomier.

Yes it is very easy to walk to the TTC but you did mention Summer so it can be quite hot making that trip to the TTC without shade. Will you spend any time at the pools?

Poly always wins for me over the monorail resorts for this reason alone. I hate hate hate transferring monorails. I realize this is probably a me issue. We've stayed in August and didn't mind the walk from Hawaii to ttc.

Yes, you’re right, it could be really hot in the summer. We’d be looking at very late may or early June. Yes, I think we’d swim a bit. We don’t actually mind the pool at the CR. It’s never too crowded and my teen loves a water slide.

We always stay CR and I hate the transfer too. Actually was thinking of splitting with YC CL, but haven’t seen any CL for YC or BC this far out. Wanted to split bc I hate Disney buses even more than monorail transferring.

Hmm then the Poly loses a few points with the Lava pool that is often called the people soup pool but it does have a pool slide, and a Zero-depth entry.

Are you looking at BB rates? YC CL is our go to room. Y & B CLs seem really rare with BBs. I’ve found discounts with AP & general public discounts. I’ve even booked it on Priceline. I just looked at BBs last week, we can go anytime so I was looking at several dates. Never saw a CL at either resort.

it always looked liked a nice pool, but people soup does not sounded appealing. 😆

Yes, I was trying to find YC CL (or even BC) with the BB rate. You are right that it seems really hard to find those with BB. 😔

Haha. Glad I'm not the only one. I dont love the busses either though I prefer taking 1 bus over transferring monrails. It once took me 90 minutes to get to chef mickeys from epcot! Now I only uber to ADRs.

We have stayed Poly, WL and YC club level with our 3 kids in mid-late August over the years. Our favourite is Polynesian CL, where we normally get a resort view room. We get our view “fix” when we sit in the lounge and look out at the castle, so we don’t bother paying to upgrade our actual room view. We really enjoy the food/drinks in the lounge (especially once our youngest turned 21) and have never encountered a situation where we couldn’t get seats in the lounge. The volcano pool can get busy, but now we tend to spend our time at the quiet pool so it doesn’t really affect us. The short walk to the TTC to get the Epcot monorail, even in the summer heat, is definitely a plus.

Oh my gosh. That’s an awful wait/transfer. I don’t mind the bus if it is direct to my resort. I hate have to stop at another resort. I think need to start ubering back from HS.

Looking ahead to early next summer, would my veteran CL’s choose a resort view CL at GF or water view CL at Poly. I like the idea of not having to go to an outside building, but poly looks nice too. Poly is about $60-70:cheaper, thats not a big factor.
I agree with @lotsohugginbear that the Poly is chaotic, and I have aged out of it. The whole pool/ marina/ main building area feels so busy to me. I much prefer the vibe at GF. I would definitely not choose Poly solely for its walk to TTC, personally. I would also throw out there that technically you could still walk to TTC from GF, as there is a great walkway from GF to Ploy, but of course it would add probably another ten minutes to that walk.

Realistically you can’t go wrong at either resort but for me, the chaos is aversive enough that it outweighs the things that I love about the Poly. My family still loves it there though.

We take Lyft/Uber to Epcot from the MK resorts. The monorail is a bit of a hassle.

But, we also do the walk from Contemporary all the way to Poly for fun. (So take any of
my opinions with a grain of salt!)

iI'll give a mini trip report. We're at Saratoga and leave tomorrow. It is a beautiful quaint resort but i miss bwi and club level in general. We had a great time
Yesterday was the Halloween party and it was a beast lol. Huge storms for like a hours. We left early. Nothing was really open so the few things that were. Including trick or treat lines were long. There were characters at several of the trick or treat lines. Im 2/3 for Halloween parties and weather. Think I will do the Christmas party next time. Food and wine was awesome as usual. My favorites were the lemon Grey goose slushie in France and filet mignon at Canada. My friend had some pineapple drink at Hawaii and liked it. We were in England when we left and my friend was ready to take the bus. I said absolutely not lol. Walked to BC and took a lyft. Got dropped off right at our building. More on Saratoga tomorrow but it was a one and done for me. By the time I got coffee in the morning I was literally sweating lol.

Yes last night was brutal at MK, and HS. Lots of attractions were down due to the power surge during the storm.

I didn't realize there was a power surge and that it could knock everything out. I was trying to figure out why indoor rides were down. We were on its a small world when it started and the lights came on and the music stopped. The boats started to crawl. I was thankfully the music stopped but then the music came back lol. It was the longest ride ever. Probably only a 15 minute hold up but with the music felt like forever 😅
