Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

So.... we have never stayed club level as we use our DVC points for accommodations, but I have always wanted to try it :D So as a special gift to ourselves I added three nights club level at Grand Destino tower to the end of our stay this spring. Now I am seeing a resort view club level for the Cotemporary is also available for my dates and I am second guessing my selection. I am hoping for some feedback from posters on this thread regarding how the two experiences compare... It's just the two of us. We love Wilderness lodge but it was not available, the Contemporary is a sentimental favorite, and the Grand Destino would be brand new to us. I made the reservation on a Bounce-back offer.. Thanks in advance.
When is your trip? We have stayed cl at GDT. We loved it! We have a trip coming up for CR Atrium cl in 20 days. I'll be happy to compare the 2 when we get back.

One thing I will say is that if you are doing the parks, you obviously get the EEH with the deluxe resorts vs GDT.

If food selection is important to you, I would do a search on YouTube to see the different offerings that each lounge provides! It might help steer you one way or the other! Good luck!

The regular CL rooms are on the same floor as the CL lounge at the Contemporary. Double check the exact listing for the CL room as it may be on the Atrium CL floor or the Tower CL floor both have their own lounges.

At the GDT your regular CL room may be on any floor but a quick elevator ride away due to the speedy elevators at GDT.

I made the reservation on a Bounce-back offer.. Thanks in advance.
Also consider that with a bounce-back reservation that you can check again at any later time to see if any other offers are available as you get closer to your trip.

I can't compare the two but I'm a big Coronado CL advocate. It's the only club level at WDW which was intentionally built AS a club level (instead of retrofitted into a club after the fact) and I think it's very evident. Beautiful views, gorgeous space. We've absolutely loved the service and CMs there, and even though it does miss a few amenities and features being a moderate level, the price difference certainly helps make up for that in my opinion. ;)

As mrsap suggested, I think looking at the food offerings to help decide is a great suggestion.

Thank you so much... I would love to hear your thoughts and comparisons of the two- that would be great :-) We are not scheduled to go until April- our spring trip, with the Cub level at the end of our stay.

Yes- part of the draw for me is good food, easy access, no thought required 🤣 U-tube is a great idea- I have followed a lot of the postings on this thread and that has been helpful. I am going to see what I can find on U-tube. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Dave- thanks for the comment. I was kind of confused by the description shown for : Resort View- Club Level...."Plus, enjoy access to the designated Club Level Lounge." I am not really sure what that means.... it would be assigned at a later date?
Also consider that with a bounce-back reservation that you can check again at any later time to see if any other offers are available as you get closer to your trip.
That is helpful information to have! Thank you.

Thank you- we haven't been to the GDT. It would be totally new to us and that could be an exciting part of the experience. You make good points about the facility and the cost. I guess I am choosing between two good options and having some analysis paralysis as a result.🙂

OT for this thread, but as someone living on the left coast, I’d just like to announce that 7 am ET (aka, “Lightning Lane purchasing time”) is extremely early.

@Counting Stars - most of those rooms are on the 12th floor (Atrium Club), but if memory serves, there are 3 on the 14th floor (Tower Club). One or two actually have a TPV, but I don’t know how easy it is to request them - one of the TPV rooms is handicap-accessible with a roll-in shower, which is not my preference, so I always email and request a non-accessible room. I really like CR - the food is really good now, maybe my favorite. I’ll be there next week (14th floor, but same food) and can’t wait.

Yes there are (5) rooms that fit into this Grey area. (2) King rooms, and (3) Queen rooms. They are actually on the 14th Floor, Tower Club level where the Suites are located instead of the Atrium CL floor on the 12th floor with the rest of the normal CL rooms.

The even odder fact is that the (2) King rooms that are bookable as King rooms are actually Theme Park View (TPV) rooms located right next to the Tower CL lounge on the 14th floor. Also (2) of the (3) Queen bed rooms are actually TPV rooms.

The key is in the Room Title. But to clear up your question, you will be assigned to, and have use of the CL lounge located on the floor where your room is located in the A-frame.

Does this make sense?

ETA: add comment about (2) Queen bed rooms on the Tower Club that are also TPV rooms.

Thank you Dave, that is very helpful! I wasn't aware of the grey area, now the wording designated club level makes sense to me.

When I look online the listing shows availably for a queen/or king room Resort view club level with a view of bay lake. The Resort view King- Club Level title directly below does not show any availability.

So if I understand this the room would be on the 12th floor with the Atrium club, but could possibly be on the 14th floor with the tower club lounge, but either will have a view of bay lake. Thanks!

Yes you are correct. That should be a regular CL room on 12th floor with Atrium club access, and a view of Bay Lake.

Hi - if you were planning a girl's trip DCL cruise and wanted to add 1 night on at a deluxe resort with club level - which would you choose? The other 3 ladies that are joining me have never stayed at a deluxe resort and haven't spent a lot of time at WDW. They will impressed and excited by any of them. We are not going into the parks at all. We will have a1 day to spend there, then breakfast the next morning in the lounge, then off to Port Canaveral. We may walk around the area but will spend the day at the resort.

I want something that feels upscale, not crazy congested or busy. I'm not really worried about price point as I'm planning this as a splurge for just a night. I want it to feel special. Also not worried about restaurant options at the resort. It's more about the feel and the atmosphere of both the overall resort and the lounge.

I've stayed CL at a few and have a couple of my favorites but I'm trying to keep my opinion quiet right now. I want to hear other's opinions and which they would choose for themselves in this situation from a fresh perspective. The only one that I'm just not really considering is the Contemporary. For whatever reason the theming there just isn't my cup of tea. But all others are on the table. Thanks for your thoughts!
