Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Thank you to the CL experts for helping with my fireworks quandary- I knew this would be the right place to ask! We decided to stay with WL (non-CL) and try to catch the later fireworks on the 30th maybe from the Poly beach. We will stick with our plan to spend NYE at AKL CL (so many acronyms, so little time…) so hopefully they do something a little out of the ordinary for that.

Something to put on your radar, boat traffic on Seven Seas Lagoon is stopped 11:30-12:30 (due to the additional fireworks launch points) so don’t flirt your travel too close to that window. I always see people scrambling before and annoyed after when they’re trying to get back somewhere and the boats take forever to get going again. Catches people by surprise since it’s not a common situation.

We've done NYE at AKL before. They celebrate NYE in Africa, I feel like it was around 2 ish. I don't remember anything super special in the CL. They kept reminding everyone that they closed at 10pm and not midnight. I think they had some special desserts like chocolate covered strawberries. This was NYE 2019.

Thank you. Do you know if non-resort guest can watch from the boat dock or marina area at the Poly or is that off limits too?

Good morning,
Does anyone know if the scaffolding has been entirely removed from GF? Will there be anything blocking the fireworks view rooms from RPC?

Thank you so much.

Scaffolding is not entirely down, but is coming down, as well as some walls. Just posted a pic yesterday on the GF Thread HERE. You should not have any obstructions. Enjoy!

Adding this pic I just saw posted today. You can see the current scaffolding location, which is now on the side of the monorail station:

Thank you! We are toying with the idea of going to Epcot, but are wary of the insanity that will be there. Knowing that AKL won’t be doing anything is helpful!

We were thinking of taking monorail back to MK and then bus back to WL but your warning has definitely promoted me to look carefully at options for travel that night- thank you!

Yes, the boat dock is open to anyone. If you’re walking towards Poly from the dock they’ll have that left turn blocked by that bathroom building so you can’t access the beach.

Hey girl! Here’s my post from NYE at AKL CL this past December…

Just an FYI:

We were told by a CM that the AKL Lounge will be open until midnight and sparkling wine will be served.
Hope they do the same this year so you can enjoy it! Have fun!

Thank you Mrsap for the quick reply yesterday regarding GF's fireworks view rooms. I immediately went to modify our room reservation, but it didn't go through. I also tried to book a new reservation but that didn't work either. Anyways, the fireworks room is gone now.

I still see a Deluxe 2Q and Resort-View. Would I get a better view from the Deluxe Room? I've never stayed in this room before.

Thanks.

Don’t forget to keep checking on the room you want. People cancel :). I usually get what I want eventually by stalking.

I’m unfamiliar with the Deluxe 2Q…I know some of the Deluxe King rooms have (had?) direct views but were less conveniently located. The resort view may get you a side view of fireworks, or none at all. I have always found GF viewing areas to be uncrowded, but I understand wanting to be settled in my room :).

With all the wedding expenses I really wanted to drop cl for Nov trip. However I have BWI deluxe at AP and I really want to see the new rooms and lounge. 🤞🏻they finally release late Nov-Dec RPC dates. It’s been odd. They release a few weeks worth of availability then close it again. I have been stalking for months!

I just grabbed a Deluxe King CL room for Dec 1-3 with an AP discount! The rack rate was eyewatering and a no, but the AP rate took my total trip price up only 600, and I have managed to wrangle discounts onto every other part of the trip, so I went for it.

I’m aware that I’m insane, yes:).

ETA - was just able to change it to tpv cl room with AP discount.

I have stayed at GF and Poly both cl and non many times for NYE in recent times. I swear they are told to lie to the guests. More than once I had a cm in cl and just walking the grounds tell me there’s no one allowed to visit the resorts on NYE. I was told they request ID for pathways also. Yet I always and I mean always go from poly to/from gf by mono, boat or walking path without any issues each time. I’m telling you this because if staff tells you something you think it’s true. I panicked one year thinking I would not get to my dining reservation but I simply walked to GF without any security asking any questions.(there wasn’t any)

The only thing I do see is the beach will have 2 sections blocked off. One for poly cl and one for the rest of the resort.

Anybody can visit Poly and still watch the fireworks and they do! Place is packed but fun! I like the marina area too, but boat launch is better if get early enough .

One thing I am reminded each NYE - which is somewhat obvious but I think it makes its way into resort/CL operations/experiences. That’s not necessarily the most popular night to work and if you have seniority of any kind, you likely put in to have that day/night off long ago. The few folks I’m friendly with want nothing to do with that day. You’ll see a lot of people filling in/picking up shifts/possibly not in their normal roles or locations. That impacts everything from the person serving Dole Whips to the bartenders to the poor college program recreation CM pulled from WL and told to stand at this one spot by the beach and check wristbands with otherwise no direction.

So you have that going on along with Disney’s rather poor track record of communicating quality info to CMs and guests, and you create an environment where misinformation can creep in.

(Still love NYE though!)

My dates are 11/28-30 and still NOT A SINGLE cl room available in RPC/outerbuilding. I check constantly. Only thing I can think of is a poster from GF usually books a conference around those dates so maybe there just isnt availabily.

So happy you got TPV! Yep get while its somewhat affordable lol.
