Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Hahaha love it. I look forward to hearing all about them. Do you go to the parks every trip?

@CogsworthTN, sorry you had to cancel. Sending healing prayers and good vibes. I've mentioned I had a resection as well, it is no joke. Please give yourself time to recover. I was home from work for about 8 weeks and I still hurt when I went back. 3 weeks out I was barely eating or moving. Disney will be there when you are ready. It will be better then ever because it will mean so much more.
This trip is with dd26. She is the queen of rope drop. It doesn’t matter how late we get in the 1st night or up any night, she is up dragging my old lady self to a park!

NOW MOM, LET’s GO!!!!

We go RD and resort/shop/swim/resorts exploring midday then a park at night. However we have done 3 parks in a day often. We hit what we like and leave.

BWI was added late because I got Remy that night. Easy to get to.

Looking for a quick answer for a potential last minute trip as a surprise for my 81-year old mother. Is AKL club up and running to its usual quality?

Nice! I think BWI is next on my list. Can't wait for reviews. I like yourstyle of touring. I attempt that but my family likes sleep too much.

Good question, I'm 100% sure yes on Boma and Jiko. They might use the Sanaa recipes but cook them at Jambo, like the butter chicken, I believe is the same as Sanaa. That would be a bit of a trek to transfer food but for all we know there could be some underground system between the 2. Anyone remember seeing a Sanaa chef at AKL cooking one night? I feel like I have but everything in my life pre-covid is a bit of a blur.

I can't vouch for AKL, but BC and YC share one central kitchen. GF's restaurants also have one central kitchen. I don't know how they are connected, but a chef once told us much of the food prep for Narcoosee's is done in the central kitchen. The Narcoosee's kitchen isn't nearly big enough.

We also once had a very funny conversation with a chef at BC/YC. At the time, the CL protocol for someone with food allergies was to talk to a chef. We were in a bit of a hurry to get to dinner, so the club level CM's said we could call the kitchen instead of talking in person. Our ADR though was at the place that is now called Ale & Compass, and we were late. So most of us went ahead to the restaurant.

There too, the protocol at the time was to have a chef come to the table to discuss the allergy. Lo and behold, the SAME CHEF came to our table as we'd just been talking with on the phone. So we all had a great big chuckle. He assured us, on future trips, it was all one kitchen.

So I imagine AKL has one central kitchen as well, but I can't say for certain if that is true. There they did tell us the area next to the CL buffet is just a holding area it is too small for much in the way of food prep, so it isn't made there.

Well, I’ve found myself in a bit of a conundrum today. Was able to find the GFs GRAND SUITE!!! 😳😱
Which one? King Kamehameha or the Grand??? :hyper2::scared:

We’ve been blessed, but can’t do both as we’re seriously thinking about a world cruise on Silver Seas or comparable.
So no go on doing both, wha!!!!😩😭😖

So seriously, which one?
TIA💗🥰

I saw Boma chefs on Tuesday gathering during the snack period 12:00 - 4:00 at club. Don't know if they were there that night because we went to BOO Bash.

Sorry if this ruins any magic, but there is no underground system between Kidani and Jambo. All transports between the two buildings are done by vehicle, Ankole cattle, giraffe or gazelle. The zebra refused to be a part of it as they're unionized and wanted higher pay and benefits.

That’s a hard choice! It depends. You don’t say how many people. The Grand’s suite doesn’t sleep as many. The 2 twin beds for any sleeping is not the best so would go with KK unless it’s only 2 people then The Grand.

Keep both and alternate each night? 😂🤣😎 Skip the cruise.

Take ME....I'll gladly sleep in one of those twin beds!!! :rotfl2:

Yes, we were talking with Lorenzo in AKL club last night and mentioned we were going to eat at Boma and he said that is where some of the items were made. We also saw several of the desserts at Boma too.
Disney has a pastry kitchen specifically for making those deserts. Exception to the ones that are tailored to the resort (zebra domes at AKL, Magic Bars at WL... etc.). The kitchen is huge and they make everything from the cupcakes you get in the Magic Kingdom to the cookies at the Contemporary to the tiny "ice cream cones" that taste like dirt but seem to be in every club level, regardless of flavor. LOL. They even have a group that specifically works on special order cakes, all in the same kitchen. It used to be behind the Boardwalk bakery and run the length of that side of the resort, but I'm told it was moved to a stand alone location for more space and better layout.
