Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

FWIW, the “Grand Suite” at GF and the “VP Yosemite Suite” now show up as a bookable room option online. Unless I’m having a brain freeze, pretty sure that is new.

Both are listed under the CL room category, FWIW.

Also noticed some (but not all) of the BC suites now show up under the CL room category. So do the BWI suites.

So they must be tinkering with things.

I noticed this too, because we've been playing around with the dates and resort(s) for our Christmas week trip. The 1BR suite is now showing up for our dates with "club level amenities". Do you think this means that CL will return to BC by then? I would really hate to pay that rate ($1300+/nt) without having access to the CL lounge...so for the moment we have a BCV 1BR booked.

Not sure - I’d personally still plan on no CL since no announced reopening for BC CL. Anything else would be a nice bonus.

But, to me if the last few weeks prove anything it’s that Disney seems content to be full steam ahead on reopening things (and making money), so it’s only a matter of time before BC, YC, and Poly CL join the party, in my humble opinion.

Still a lot of time for things to materialize - or not - I guess.

Sometimes Disney makes it too easy to make fun. A steakhouse announcement with a picture of a chocolate cake taken on what appears to be a weathered picnic table. 😂

At least no Incredibles. :duck:

But in seriousness, I was always a big Wave fan, so this seems cool/I hope the same good quality food and friendly CMs remain in the reimagined version.

A lot of dining announcements coming out! Now we may be thinking of doing the Cinderella Table for breakfast....

But it doesn't have character dining yet does it?

I cannot wait to make a reservation for the new Wave :) We'll be at Contemporary Sept 30-Oct 2.

AKA Steakhouse 71 as in the year WDW and the Contemporary resort opened.

Dave
Yeah - I know - but I've liked calling it 'New Wave' - I'm an 80s kid ;)
Steakhouse 71 sounds like a steak sauce. But I'm excited to have it back in whatever flavor it is, need that casual table service back at the Contemp!

I just want them to keep the bacon and eggs appetizer on the menu, I’m still mourning that

We are huge Wave fans in our family too...we are a family of vegetarians, and they had so many wonderful options for us there! I'm a little worried that a restaurant with "Steakhouse" in its name won't, but you never know -- Le Cellier has actually had some wonderful options over the years. Fingers crossed for us and all my fellow veggies out there that the new Wave has some great veg choices as well!

I had the exact same reaction, both the term and the functionality of the system sound exactly like Six Flags. Then I remembered Disney (well, Pixar) has a character named Lightning.

I understand the need to rebrand it. If they kept it as FastPass there would have been complaints that it's included with pre-bought tickets. This way they can say FP is gone.

But they could have called it FlashPass (Zootopia, although the character is a sloth, so maybe not)
Definitely another forum/board....but funny you mentioned FlashPass...that is the exact name of the Six Flags skip the line! :rotfl2:

Oh that's funny. When I heard "Lightning Pass" my mind saw a flash and thought Six Flags. Now I understand why.

Just realized that Disney has another obscure character named Flash Nilsson, a blue car in Cars 2, and there was a dog in Rescue Rangers that was named Flash the Wonder Dog. I guess there's only so many exciting names in English they could come up with. Time to branch out.

For those who have stayed BWI CL in both a Standard CL room and Deluxe CL room, did you notice a good difference? We could go either way, and am wondering if the extra space may help our attitudes and just a little better for sleeping, i.e., some conk out quicker, etc.,lol.

I remember the room being longer so it felt roomier but I don't think it matters in terms of privacy. I think the main benefit is that you will definitely get a boardwalk view.

we have done both and the extra 200+ square feet of what we call the 'bump out' is really worth it; first the views from all 10 are the best boardwalk views; then that extra sitting area with couch and lamp and TV are great late night when others want to sleep; of course that couch is a sleeper as well; if you can afford the extra 100+ per night go for the deluxe; and the bakery aromas in the morning wake you up to pure magic; we have the deluxe booked for our march spring trip already;

Thank you! I have already booked it for our early January trip and have noticed they are no longer available but the regular ones are now so was contemplating. I will think about it no more because it sounds great and will keep it!

Ridiculous photographic decision aside I think it’s inspired from DLR… Steakhouse 55 was known for its 24 layer chocolate cake. Disneyland destroyed chocolate lovers across CA when they axed the menu item. What I’m seeing here is a pale imitation of that for suckers who don’t know that Disney is completely capable of making that desert twice as better.

Obviously I’m not still bitter about the loss of that awesomeness :rolleyes1

You'll be very happy with your decision!
