Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Sooooo.... it's official that the club lounges aren't happening this summer? Funny to think that earlier I had asked something like:

Q: How will they address the problem of serving the club lounge buffet food?

A: By not having club lounge at all.

Our split-stay resort-only trips for late July (WL + BWI) focused heavily on being in the club lounge (and pool). I guess this kills it?

Should we be getting an email soon informing us of this? Will they just lower the prices down to regular room rates?

I’d sure hope so! There’s no point in paying CL prices without CL.

I remember the last time the Rangers won, me and my friends had a slumber party watching the game at my one friend's house in Long Island. A bunch of 8th grade girls screaming like that you could have probably heard us in Jersey lol!

Man I just really miss sports...almost as much as I miss Disney.

OMG I love it!!!! I love hearing about other people’s experiences!! I was a sophomore in HS when they won in ‘94! I cried like a baby and screamed so loud I had no voice the next day! As you could imagine, most of my friends were Devil fans, which made for some great arguments, and extremely fun games! When they beat the Devils first, and then won it all, I literally lost my mind!!! I tortured them for awhile, and I loved every minute of it!!! I even had a jersey custom made that said ‘Stanley Cup 94!’ Good times, great memories ❤

People just notice one day their reservations don’t say club level anymore and the price drops. Only happened to a few so far. Doesn’t seem to be a method to their madness yet.

Ouch on your plans, it does appear to kill it. But maybe you’ll end up like some folks in the June-July pre-park opening batch and get moved to a DVC room where it will be easier to do a DIY CL? (Unknown if late July reservations will need to be moved to DVC or if Disney will start opening hotels by then.)

We have Beach Club CL room/tickets for August 7-10. Our dining reservations were canceled last week, we couldn’t make Fast Passes at the 60 day mark, Stormalong Bay is closed & The Club lounge will not be available. And now our Jet Blue flights were just canceled!

Would you wait to see what happens, or take a hint and get a refund on the deposit? I would need to rebook flights out of a different airport.

We were supposed to be there the beginning of August but decided to cancel even before reopening guidelines were announced. Once the guidelines/restrictions were announced, I knew I made the right choice for us. Now seeing that CL is temporarily gone (we were staying CL), it makes me feel better about our decision because it just wouldn't be a very magical trip to me with all the cuts/restrictions. With all that said, I would cancel and reschedule for another time if that's possible. Good luck!

I have a cl stays booked July, August, October and January.

I don’t even know if the July will be without cl because so far Disney is only doing stays through 7/4.

I assume it will be canceled but until that time Disney has not changed the cl in my description for any of my reservations.

If US continues to have cl wdw MAY change their mind but again wait n see is all we can do.

I have my stay soon and I will report what I was offered for July when I know.

I did see one poly cl person was moved to BLT in a 1 bedroom. That is on dd and I list of acceptable trades, fingers crossed!

yeah I am still not convinced my CL disappeared bc of the temporary no CL. My stay isn't until September....lots could change in that time or it could be as you said. I am still waiting to hear back from them about my stay.

Anything could change. I think there must be a very small team handling CL as we've only had a few reports. Alas the few reports seen are seeing reservations as late as Dec being changed and that's why I hold very little hope for this year

So here’s an idea I’ve been thinking of regarding the club level reservations that were adjusted to non club level rooms as part of removing free dining and adjusting the package to reflect the 35% off the room...is it possible they have not yet made a decision to do away with CL as far out as we’ve seen (Dec), but that they have locked the CL rooms out of the system and the CM adjusting the packages were not able to access them? Terrible, I know, for those effected, but I’m wondering if it may be as simple as that. It has been a bit of a clumsy roll out with adjustments after all. That doesn’t explain why no one is able to get any answers on their adjusted reservations. Just something I’ve been thinking about.

yea I am wondering if it’s somteething like that because my phone calls have ended with them basically saying they are waiting for word? Approval? Permission? From
Higher up to fix/make changes to my reservation.

So DVC CL at AK opened up for reservations today. DH was able to snag us one night. We have never stayed CL. We aren't going until late August but I'm reading all your posts and wondering if I'm wasting my points on something I've always heard was a great experience only to be let down.

I'd love to hear the opinion from you the experts. I know things can change is a heart beat as Disney is constantly changing and updating things.

Wow! That’s great news. Maybe there’s hope for all our club level stays after all!! We’ve never stayed AK, but we have YC CL stays booked for July & September. Fingers crossed CL is open!

I don’t want to be a downer, but the reason that AKL CL opened up was because all booking categories at Jambo, which had been completely and inexplicably blocked to DVC members for the last few weeks from now until 2021, suddenly dumped rooms into inventory of every category and size. Unfortunately, CL for DVC is simply a booking category and I would not read its availability to mean anything at all in terms of the larger operations of CL across the resorts. They weren’t even smart enough to block off Jambo prior to June 22, so it’s not like they actually know what they’re doing.

I just cancelled our July CL stay at AKL after losing hope but am clinging to our week at the end of August so believe me, I want this as much as anyone, but I wouldn’t read anything into the availability of DVC CL rooms being available again.
