Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I don't know if anyone can answer this question but over a couple of years ago i stayed at the boardwalk inn and got upgraded to club level. I loved it so much it was worth it.
My question is does anyone know what kind of coffee that was in the lounge area? I'm thinking it was joffrey's but not sure and if so what flavor, it was so good.
Thank you and take care.

I can't answer your question, but hopefully others will be able to help :flower3:.

wow! Thanks for this! Tried again and GOT IT! Now I’m excited!!!

It definitely pays to keep checking! Glad you were able to get exactly what you wanted! :wizard:

Ok, I'm fairly convinced a fall surge in Covid cases is going to shut things down again or will change the Disney experience so much that I won't want to go for my October trip. Soooo, I called and made split-stay reservations for March 2021 at Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge. Both rooms are called "Deluxe" (which we needed as a party of six), but only the WL has CL attached.
Can you ask to add CL to BC rooms like you sometimes can elsewhere?

No the WL is the only resort where it is possible to add CL access. They are able to due this since about 50% of the CL rooms were removed when 1/2 of the main building was converted into CCV.

I officially canceled my August trip. I had GF SL and WL CL booked. My kids weren't comfortable going this summer. My oldest (16) kept repeating how the governor doesn't want NY'ers there. Regardless, they want to wait. I canceled my flights but haven't pulled the trigger on the hotels yet. Disney 2021 here I come. Thinking early August Poly CL. I need something to look forward to.

Are your kids scared of being discriminated against because you’re New Yorkers? I’m sorry you had to cancel, but it’s definitely no fun if the family doesn’t want to be there.

I'm sorry you had to cancel, but you have to do what's best for your family. I hope everything works out for a trip next year :wizard:.

I think they are afraid they will be forced to mandatory quarantine. I believe at one point (may still be in effect), the governor said it was a 14 mandatory quarantine for NYers and out of towners. Everything is still closed here and my oldest is very science minded. We are still on pause and I think he worries about the safety aspect of traveling. I'm not thrilled about canceling but it wouldn't be fun if they were worried.

Thank you, I can't wait to plan. I'm still devastated over this summer but I have to look at the big picture. We're healthy and still both employed. I can't ask for more at this point.

Well, I'm out of CL for now. It wasn't an easy decision. I had been looking forward to the CL amenities. But, we have vacation time we have to use, and with our Spring Break cruise getting cancelled and our Memorial Day vacation likely not happening, we wanted to extend our 4-night stay at WDW in July to a full week.

Of course, CSR is fully blocked out in June/July (except for the priciest non-CL suites), so we changed to Poly. And, with the added days and added price, I could not justify adding CL.

Also, I'm not really sure what CL will look like once resorts re-open in terms of lounge offerings, and with my reservation already well within 90 days of checkout (I'm almost to my 60 days), the CL value proposition wasn't as clear as it had been before the closures. My original plan was to play it by ear and make changes closer to our stay, but with WDW freezing all resort changes and modifications for June, I didn't want to wait to drop CL and find that they were also freezing July and I could not make changes to the resort or our dates. I was booked with a FD BB, and the Fun and Sun rate was not as good, so booking a back-up reservation did not make as much sense for us.

Anyway, as you can tell from my post, a little bummed that we won't get to experience GDT CL this summer. Who knows if WDW will even be open. It's so hard to make decisions within this fluid situation.

Aww I’m sorry. I think a lot of us are in the same boat. We need to make a decision as well, and will do so in the next few days. We’re thinking of rescheduling our whole summer trip to winter. For some reason, I keep holding onto hope, but it’s getting harder and harder to stay optimistic. 😞

Same. :( We have rescheduled trips for July and August, but August may be too difficult for us, and July may be too restricting if open. That leaves winter or even next year. I'm losing hope for a summer trip.

Back on my favourite thread to vent a bit along with the rest of you Summer trippers! I guess Disney has pulled the plug on our annual week-long AKL club end of school trip where it’s just me and DS. Selfishly, I am saddened by the fact that we have a very finite number of these trips left that we can do before he goes off to school, no longer wants to travel with his mom, etc. I feel bad for feeling bad because I know that this situation has hurt many people in far worse ways...but I know that me feeling sad about my situation doesn’t change that, so I’m letting myself wallow ;).

I wish I could rebook, but this is a DVC stay and the club studios are pretty much the hardest ones in the system to get, so there will be zero movement on those.

An interesting fact about CSR- I scored a consolation prize today with 25% off the GDT Club Standard room for three nights. I half heartedly booked a cobbled-together-multiple-resorts trip for later in July, but I’m not sure we will be able to make it work for many reasons. Anyways, long story short- if you wanted CSR, it looks like they’ve opened it back up!

I dropped GDT CL Standard this morning - my dates were July 23-27. They were sold out even before GDT CL was blocked off. Maybe you picked it up? If so, it would make me happy that it went to a fellow DISBoarder.

I realize there are a lot of people that have been deeply affected with this pandemic. But, I look at it this way: me cancelling my vacation won’t restore someone’s health nor someone’s job, but by spending my money in a vacation, I may help someone from being laid off in the future (and that may be me trying to make me feel better, and that’s OK).

Haven’t been around here much lately, but I thought I’d stop by to wish all you great mother’s a wonderful Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow!!!

We will be busy as our middle son 17 is a 2020 grad and tomorrow we have things for that, our state has begun to open things a bit and the weather forecast is supposed to be fairly nice!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you great Mom’s!!!

My view on staying club level has evolved over the past few days. At first, I wondered if it would be worthwhile given potential cuts to services. Now, hearing more about potential restrictions as the opening gets pushed closer to our dates, I'm thinking that club level might be something of a haven, a way to get food (however it's provided) without worries of the restaurant having long wait times or no available tables due to social distancing, or worrying about your ADR being cancelled due to reduced capacity. And club level guests might get preferential treatment for whatever privileges there are to be had upon reopening. Just a thought. We have a split stay that was half club level, but now I'm leaning towards making our whole stay club level.

If I was still going I would definitely keep club level. Between that and room service you could avoid food courts. I feel with the unknowns it may be nice to have cl cms. Even if they stock your fridge with drinks.

Do you not think that need to enforce social distancing in the club lounges? Restaurants opening now in Disney Springs need to operate at 25% capacity, which I assume will then move to 50%, etc. If the club lounges follow the same rules, then if they currently hold 16 tables, lets say for example, then 12 tables need to go to start. Good luck finding a table under those circumstances. Expect club level staff being reduced accordingly, so service levels will drop. Then again, if club level reservations drop dramatically because people don't want to pay a premium price for less than premium amenities, then you might find a table where you can enjoy whatever kind of food they might be serving.

Are you saying you are willing to pay club levels room prices, and also happy to pay for the inflated room service menu prices, an 18% gratuity, plus a delivery charge?

I know I am not. If amenities and services are reduced, without a significant discount, we won't be keeping our CL room. I have a back up reservation at the Riviera and waiting to see 1) If the parks are even open and 2) What CL will be like. We have a villa with a full kitchen at the Riviera and can cut back on dealing with dining limitations by eating in our villa. I'm just not paying the inflated CL rates without CL service. They're going to have to find a way to make CL worth the considerably higher rates they charge for us to stay and paying for room service on top of the higher rates won't cut it. Besides, I can get room service at any deluxe resort. I don't need to be CL to do that. If they want to replace CL offerings with room service at no charge, that would be a different story. I don't see them doing that.
