Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I really feel like we have to give the GF another try. We did not like SL when we stayed there. This was many years ago but the CMs were so cold. Didn't like the building and the noise of the lounge as our room was right above it although the food at the time was so plentiful. Also we did RPC during budget cuts. I guess we will have to try RPC again. :D LOL
In terms of our favorites it is so tough. BWI, Poly and CR are our top 3. We actually are staying CR Tower CL this trip as well which we haven't stayed yet either.

I bet we will love AKL as well - we have a 2 bedroom suite and we can't wait. :yay: All fun stuff!
Please please please come back and let me know how CR went. I'm going in February and I'm very excited! I would love to pick your brain!
Sparkle on!

How is WL club lounge? I have booked for next year but it seems like it doesn't rate well. I also heard that it closes earlier than the others.

It has the same hours as all other CLs, so no difference there. The lounge itself is always open, the serving area is in a slightly separate area that can be closed off between services at times.

We stayed there just after the new lounge opened in Nov 2016. I thought it was incredibly quaint, cozy, and loved the overall vibe. These are a bit too old to be relied upon for the food, but i posted pics here:

WL CL Food - November 2016

WL CL Lounge - November 2016

Really no complaints on the CL/lounge part from our perspective.

I really truly didn't mean to make you defensive, maybe I shouldn't have quoted your post!!! It's just something I've been wondering and this seemed a good time to ask, that's all, I promise . And you did answer it, anyway- if it makes fun sounds when you open the door then that's at least an interesting thing to try occasionally, particularly for kids. It doesn't seem like something particularly useful or necessary for most people, but as you said just another neat option to try that certainly isn't a detriment or anything.
I must have skimmed and missed these posts lol.

Thanks for asking what I would have.

My kids always have their phones out so they can open the door for me.

If not with me I'm like you with a plate of food trying to open door.

Sometimes staying cl I put a spare band on the strap of my purse. Lifting that up and aligning seems to work better then trying to wrist it.

AKL is a beautiful resort and I'm always reading great things about CL, so I'm sure you'll have a great time! :wizard:

Thank you so much. We are taking it easy at the AKL - so we can enjoy the resort. I will be sure to check in while we are there.

Hope you have a nice, relaxing stay! Looking forward to hearing all about it :goodvibes.

I will absolutely give a report. :flower1: The CR is at the end of our 12 day trip.

Have a great time! :)

Yet here you are again beating that dead horse.
Er, I was responding back to a lengthy criticism of me with an apology, but er, if you wish to characterize my post that way , so be it, though I totally agree with the next post you made.

Sorry to say, I've been posting to this thread for a very long time, and for years, it was always a refuge from the anger that appears elsewhere on the DIS. People in this thread debated the good and bad of CL, without any of the bullying you see on other threads.

It be great to get this thread back to normal discourse.

That 2 bedroom suite at AKL looks amazing!!! That would be my dream room if we stay at AKL CL again. We did like our standard CL room ok, but we'd need to bring an air mattress next time if staying standard. Two beds just don't work anymore once the kids are teens! Can't wait to hear how you like it!!

We had similar feelings about our SL stay. No noise issues for us, but more we didn't love the building. However, I think it's because we were coming off a stay in RPC and nothing could really compare to that! RPC, yes, that deserves another shot!

Do you have any trips coming up?

I booked bwi std then move to gf rpc. Then I remembered dh has to catch his ME from bwi. ( he leaves and dd arrives)So I am going to load an app for uber and Lyft and let him choose. It would take as long to get from gf to bwi as it would just going to the airport lol. (More or less)

I just booked another BWI CL stay today! We are going April 2-9. With my cast discount the only thing available was the garden suite, so I took it. We also have one booked in February for our anniversary. We have never stayed in one, but I love the BW so much and the 50% off certainly made the decision very easy for us!
So, I now have 3 trips to my favorite resort planned, December, February and April!

I'm beginning to think you just have a collection of gorgeous sunrise and sunset pics from Disney Resorts! Seriously though, Disney should hire you for these photos because they can literally sell a person on staying somewhere!

No skill, all iphone. :-)

With the kiddos... the precious, fleeting.... quiet.... moments of sunset or sunrise (alone) on the balcony are a high priority on my list! :rotfl:

Thanks for the nice note!

Is there a page that keeps track of which resorts are reviewed on which page of this thread? I’m specifically looking to read reviews of GF RPC and SL in case anyone can link any to me. Thanks!

Not really - but RPC is frequented by many on this thread so you’ll likely get plenty of feedback. Tagging @trishadono!

We stayed at SL in April 2017 so these are getting to be a bit too old to be of value, but here’s what I wrote at the time. Ignore anything that’s too negative in what I said then. SL isn’t my favorite CL, but it has its pros and I’d stay there again. :-)

GF SL April 2017 - Room

GF SL April 2017 - Food

Hope that helps!

For us GF SL was our first CL stay ever at Disney and was so turned off by it. Not one CM in the building was helpful or nice. It was so weird. Our 2nd CL stay was the BWI and they were polar opposite stays. So we went from our worst CL stay to our best CL stay. We will definitely try RPC again.

We are a family of 6 (teens and up) so we would need two rooms anyway - we were so excited to get the 2 room suite at AKL. Thanks.

I'm also one who didn't care for SL. I think the building is conveniently located, but other than that, I didn't like it. I agree, though, that RPC is amazing ;).

I am convinced we have to try RPC again. Thanks.

I keep looking at that room too. The AP rate for sept is 40% off.

Our SL stay was exactly the same. We loved the GF overall - it's a gorgeous resort. But, their CL was so disappointing. The staff were extremely cold and unhelpful. They wouldn't help with anything and seemed annoyed when you asked for a drink...even when the beer and wine were out. The food disappeared quickly and wasn't replenished. I don't usually complain and roll with the punches but I was very honest on our survey after that stay and we got some money returned to us. But, I would still stay at the GF again in a heartbeat!

Looking at CL at BWI, BC, or YC for December. Never stayed CL at Epcot area resorts. Which one would you chose and why? My family includes DH and 2 boys (12, 7). Last year we stayed at the Poly CL and it wasn’t our favorite. We liked GF RPC and Contemporary in the past. Price wise, BWI is cheapest and YC most expensive, but not significant difference between them. Thanks!

My DD and I had a fabulous stay at the BWI CL 7/28 - 8/1. It was our 1st CL stay ever and it couldn't have been more perfect. We had room 4223 water view. We arrived at the Inn at 8:30 am after a 5:00 am flight from Philadelphia...o_O We were walked up to the Innkeepers Lounge by Judith, who provided us with valuable info about the hotel. Once we arrived at the lounge we were met by Brittany who checked us in and made us feel welcomed during the breakfast offerings. Each of our nights there, Reggie prepared delicious dishes from the Flying Fish restaurant.:yay:Absolutely the best Disney resort experience we've had in the 10+ trips!

Yes that was exactly what we experienced at SL. One day we wanted to make dining reservations (this was way before the app) and the CM at the desk made my mom and I stand there while he was working on his computer. He didn't even look up when I said hello. Finally I said excuse me we need to make a reservation for dinner and he said he was busy and we had to come back later - barely looking up. That was just one of the many cold shoulders that we got on that trip - no smiles. Again that was many years ago and the rest of the resort was friendlier. We will try RPC again.
