Each resort got an allotment of FP's, you could easily get a FP for something that was otherwise unavailable. It's another perk they took away. Being able to book a 4th FP on the app is relatively new and CM's were making FP's for guests. I can see it being worthwhile for someone who doesn't go often and has a limited time to spend in the parks...but in that case a VIP tour would be a much better option. I would rather pay for the after hours thing, sorry can't recall the name, where you could ride all the rides you want with little to no wait.

We arrive to the Poly CL on Sunday, so it will be interesting to see if it’s offered to us. I doubt we would take advantage of it since it wouldn’t give us the ability to book the additional FPs more than a couple of days in advance at this point. As others have said, I’d be more willing to give it a try if it didn’t have the three day minimum.

It will be interesting to see the details. It would be a ton of money for the 5 of us. If it was just me and my husband I would consider it. I am interested in the viewing spot for HEA that is offered. I wonder if it is the old FP section. We always try and snag that one now and it is a perfect spot! I would hate for it to be gone!!

I'm reading all the CL reviews from the link, but in our experience we didn't get a magic "anytime, any attraction FP+ is added to your group’s account" as it states in the Poly review. There are times when we could get an additional FP through the texting service, and times when we couldn't. And it always came down to availability. I find this confusing.

The nighttime show viewing is the one piece that sounds like it ‘could’ be appealing to me. I’m a sucker for the dessert parties and similar events, not for the food, but for stress-free viewing. If this is offers a legit option, I’m intrigued.

But having had some experience with Disney and their “reserved” viewing areas in the past, I want to see the details on this big time, including exact locations, how access is managed, etc.

But yeah, otherwise, my gut reaction is this price is too steep for my family of four. I think I’d rather add another night to the trip?

I completely agree. The FPs are a nice to have but it is the fireworks viewing spot that’s got me interested. I like the dessert parties too and have done a few but for the stress free viewing. Maybe that 50 bucks would include a seat and if so I’m in!
But like you I would need the specifics!

I don’t know what after hours thing you may be referring to other than the Halloween and Christmas parties (and that pirate and princess party they had years ago that we never tried) but I would rather do a party too! Those are so fun! However, since they’ve introduced the new FP+ policy for good neighbor hotels, I’m very concerned that we won’t be able to get FOP for our Memorial Day trip because it’s already very difficult to get! So... I’ll probably buy the extra FPs. It’s a lot cheaper than the current Nights of Adventure tour that I have booked that was over $1000 for only one night at AK with the AP discount (for 5 people). It would be pretty nice to be able to do Soarin, Test Track and the Frozen ride all in one day too (not that Frozen is exciting but it’s been years for us because I don’t want to give up Soarin for that). But I have to admit that I’m disappointed that the perk isn’t included in the price of CL ...prices have gone up so much!!

Those are so fun! However, since they’ve introduced the new FP+ policy for good neighbor hotels, I’m very concerned that we won’t be able to get FOP for our Memorial Day trip because it’s already very difficult to get! I would jump on the after hours party at MK instead of this but they never offer it in the summer. EMM is great though!!

We will probably do the extra FP. Not excited about the price but we do park hop every trip so we could get value from it. We did an offsite stay in Dec and couldn't get a FOP FP for our entire week and I checked frequently. So it would be nice to possibly grab a FP for FOP at the 90 days out. The seating for the night time shows would be a bonus for us because I never FP those and it would be nice not having to hunt up a place to watch.

I sent a quick email to the YC/BC CL email to see what they say. (Maybe they'll say nothing before Friday but would love to know.... since we would be likely to book it...) If they get back to me I'll post the info...

Unfortunately I missed the call from BC IPO while I was in a meeting at work (which went about 2 hours longer than it should have so I missed the call and accomplished absolutely nothing at all this afternoon.) I intend to call tomorrow morning first thing. I think of the 10 days we're staying at BC club level (we're only 3 people) we may do this 5 or 6 days --- if for no other reason that to avoid the limitations of the Tier system and get more done for some of the parks. Love that maybe special viewing areas for nighttime events may also be available.

There's a ton of judgement out there about embracing this or not. The VIP tours don't work for us as we're only 3 people so we didn't do them -- we've booked a bunch of events that we're paying OOP for ... so if we can do all the big stuff in the parks without having to deal with lines/crowds we're okay with paying for it.... Does club level really make financial sense for most people? Probably not for most who book it - but the value equation isn't necessarily about cost --- it may be more about enjoyment and what you can do while at WDW.

We're at a point where the cost isn't an issue for us (thankfully) and the fact is that EVERY other vacation we do is not totally egalitarian... You pay more for a premium room/cabin --- you get more/better... you pay for extras/tours/etc... you get more... you pay more for your airline seat you get more leg room, luggage allowance, etc... It's really hard to imagine why a private company like Disney wouldn't do the same ...

Bummer! DS and I did it last year. One of our most fun nights (actually maybe THE most fun night) we had at WDW all year. With the AP discount the price isn’t all that bad either.

Oh, well. It will just be me and DH in February (no kids) so we’ll probably just want to hang out in the lounge anyway...wine and cordials! Besides, that DAH is a good excuse for another trip next year...but we will have to buy a car for DD14 next year so maybe not.

My DH said the same pretty much... Disney knows that people who are willing to pay more for the convenience of CL are also more likely to pay for the added convenience of extra FPs. Getting around those tiers really is attractive, isn’t it??

So very much "yes" for us. Add to that viewing areas for evening spectaculars where we'd previously booked Dessert Parties... then definitely "yes". While it would be amazing if Disney offered so many attractions that it wasn't attractive --- then we wouldn't do it --- but for what Disney offers right now it is worth it to us.

I'm guessing that WDW chose people who booked CL as they've already proven they'll pay more for extras... Good, bad, or indifferent this is likely part of it (doesn't hurt that it's a fairly limited audience --- which will allow them to assess how this affects the FP flow without adding a huge audience.)

Hmm. This is interesting. I wouldn’t do it if it meant 6 hours committed in the park(s) (meaning if it’s still one FP per hour). That would hog up too much of my day and be a waste of our time on filler stuff we’re not super interested in waiting for the next window to open. I’d much rather spend my down time at the pool or lounge. Allowing me to overlap the 6 FPs so I could get in mores rides and still have my down time, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

If it’s multi park, that’s appealing but again, it’s too much a chunk of the day tied up. We’re sleep in, hit the parks by 11am, spend 3-4 hours, pool, lounge, dinner/perhaps another park and more lounge people. With that pace, I can’t see carving out 3 more hours and not enjoy the resort amenities I’m also paying for.

That’s actually an excellent point that I hadn’t considered. Our style is somewhat similar so we would have the same concern.
