Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Well that was a FP 60 day FAIL!!! Sort of.

So like any good Disney planning nut I sit down around 6:45 ET this morning and get ready... :surfweb: :hourglass

The clock ticks 7am, I click to make FPs... only to find my dates on the calendar aren't available.:eek::eek:

Ok, don't panic...

Maybe I just have my 60 day count wrong. Checked a few websites and counted myself... no, today is definitely 60. :confused3

Maybe my reservation is messed up. Nope, all looks legit there. :confused3

Maybe Disney's website is just screwed up. Always a possibility. :badpc:

Starting to get desperate now.... I can smell FOP slipping away at this point. :cold:

I give up and call Disney for help. As I'm on hold, I happen to scroll down to the "Tickets and Passes" section on the website and notice the expiration date of my APs is in two weeks.:idea::idea::idea:

DUUUHHHHHHH!!!! No valid tickets = no FPs.

I scramble to renew the APs and then can finally go about making my FPs. But alas, NO FOP, which is frankly the only reason I was stressing about the 60 day thing to begin with!!! DOH! :yoda::yoda::yoda:

I'm mostly kicking myself for being so dumb but a bit annoyed that Disney has not sent a single e-mail or notification that it's time to renew our APs. Obviously totally my fault, but I just did not have it on my radar at all.

So, moral of the story... for those of you with APs.... keep track of your expiration date! :rotfl:

Sorry for the long OT rant! :eeyore:

Bummer! I just renewed my AP for the first time about six months ago. I looked back in my e-mail and I did get two reminders from WDW, but not until three weeks and one week prior to my expiration date - so they wouldn't have helped with FP booking. I hope you're able to find some FOP openings in the next two months! I've seen several people post over on the TPAS board that they've found them after their initial window opening.

But alas, NO FOP, which is frankly the only reason I was stressing about the 60 day thing to begin with!!! DOH

So what I would do is keep checking throughout the day, today and tomorrow. I think that a lot of people grab things when they are available, and then when they discuss plans with trip mates, things get put back into inventory. That has been my experience with ADRs; I'm guessing it works for FP too.

Because we just can't leave well enough alone ::yes:: - DH has been looking what seems to be non-stop for a TPV Atrium Club Level. Are these rooms typically impossible to get this late in the game for a Christmas trip? We'll keep looking but this is stressful. :lmao:

@GADisneyDad14 , sorry to hear this, but don't lose hope! There were no FOP FPs at our 60 days, but I have seen some pop up multiple times over the past month (we are now under 30 days). Keep checking!

Sorry you didn't get fop. Hopefully something opens up.

I did in July too. I posted late because somehow I was a page off ?

Need more coffee.

At least I'm not the ONLY one of this thread that takes pics of empty room refrigerators.... :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

So where ya going in 60 days?

Trying to cook up something good... :stir:

Hi, all. Does the Poly Club level open before 7am for coffee? Thanks!

Your question has been answered, but your post made me think of one of my favorite Poly CL lounge pics. This was taken at 6:19AM sometime late July 2016. One of my absolute favorite places to be before the rush of the day! :cloud9:

OMG!! I know how you feel! Between that and ADR’s, I’m pretty much shaking and sweating until everything is done!!!!! Don’t give up on that FP!!! Keep checking back, it will come up! Use the force, Luke!!!! :darth:

By the way, you wouldn’t happen to have pictures of the alcohol in RPC too, would you??!! :drinking1

I don't think the force can help with FOP, unfortunately. :yoda::yoda::yoda:

And no, I don't have any pics of RPC alcohol, sorry. Alcohol guard wouldn't leave her post long enough to get a clear view!

Did you get a free month? I got 13 when I renewed over summer.

Nope, just 12-months. I did get the 13 months last year when I renewed. Don't tell me they are still running that promotion and I missed it?!?!

How late were you by the time you got to select FP?

Despite the whiny nature of my post (which was a bit of hyperbole)... it really wasn't all that late... 7:30ish. Except for FOP there was tons of availability for everything else.

So what I would do is keep checking throughout the day, today and tomorrow. Thanks! I am sometimes guilty of that too. Book now, tinker later! :thumbsup2

Sorry you didn't get fop. Hopefully something opens up.

In retrospect, I likely had little chance at FOP even if I had been on right at 7AM. Short trip, busy time of year. There was availability on my departure day, but not until 4:45PM - too late in the day to be of any value as I don't want to fly out that late. :goodvibes

A fitting end to the way my day started with my 60 day FP/expiring AP issue....look what came in the mail today....

And true to typical Disney quality control standards, it is MY name listed after "To the Parents of" below. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Oh the irony! It's kind of like how I always get the email reminding me to make my fast passes...three days after my window opens!

If the stars align, I'm trying to get DH to bump up the Poly CL for our April trip. He hasn't quite worked through his waterfall loss issues , despite the time that has passed! And we've never stayed CL there. I am going to show him your picture above in my efforts to convince him - beautiful! And he's a big early bird...

Boy do I miss that lounge.. my husband is a big fat no on disney next year, he wantz the Carribean I'm debating a short mom and boys poly trip. I may have to promise him golf on our family trip. It will be weird traveling without him but we all really want to go.

Trying to cook up something good... :stir:

Because we just can't leave well enough alone ::yes:: - DH has been looking what seems to be non-stop for a TPV Atrium Club Level. Are these rooms typically impossible to get this late in the game for a Christmas trip? We'll keep looking but this is stressful. :lmao:

The chance is probably pretty slim, but I wouldn't let that stop you from continuously checking. People do cancel, so something could pop up. Good luck! :wizard:

Beautiful pic, very peaceful :cloud9:.

Yes, what mickeynut1 said, keep checking. Our last trip was booked relatively late for CL (about 62 days out) and I couldn't get what we wanted so I booked what I could find that still worked for us (BC GV CL and GF SL) even though the rooms and the dates (between the split) weren't perfect. I kept checking and things did open up and we eventually got the dates right and also the exact room categories we wanted about a week or two before we left (BC GV CL and GF RPC).

Agree with the PPs. You have a bit of an uphill battle given the time of year, but you never know! I had all but given up on my Columbus Day trip earlier this month... I probably modified that reservation five times before I finally got it dialed in the way I wanted it. There was a lot more availability in the 5-30 day out range than there had been previously. So much so that I was even mad at myself for stressing over the summer when there was ZERO availability. It’s sort of a pain but I would make it a habit to check the website every few days. Stuff eventually shook loose. Granted, that was Columbus Day, not Christmas, but anything can happen. Good luck!

Thank you all - well a TPV ACL opened up this morning, not under the Magical Promotion though, but DH gave me the green light to book it while it was still there. :hyper2: Only downfall is that he said if he really likes the CR TPV ACL, good luck getting him anywhere else. LOL. For now I consider it a win though! Our 2018 trip will be another story for another day. TPV here we come! :hyper: :dance3: :woohoo:

Ask for a room with an odd number to see the castle from your bed. Dd22 favorite thing is a dessert from lounge then eating in bed watching the castle change colors.

General GF resort question: I have a two queen room Main Building with 5 people sharing for our upcoming stay. My 3 year old will be sleeping on the daybed/sofabed. If you've needed to make use of that a) Is it comfortable? I know a 3 year old would care less than I would, but I still don't want her feeling lousy for 8 nights. b) Does Disney make up the room with the sofabed set up already since I have 5 people and they know I'll need to use it? Or do I have to ask for something special at check in? c)Do they change the sheets on the sofabed just as often as the main beds? Does it have a pillow already?
