Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Hello CL experts!

We are considering booking CL at either Poly or BC in August - September 2018. Those are the only two resorts with CL offered with our TA's discount. It would be our first CL stay so I have a few questions:

For those of you who have stayed at both, do you prefer BC or Poly CL?
What time do they start serving alcohol? (I like a mimosa for breakfast sometimes on vacation )

I have stayed CL at both and prefer Poly. I think that the food was better at BC CL than at Poly CL but I love the lounge at Poly and I love the atmosphere. It is so easy to run to the lounge for a drink or snack from either pool. I LOVE that sparking wine was added at Poly and many nights (and days!) enjoyed some along with POG juice. I just love hanging in the Poly lounge watching the lake and boats and seeing the castle. Fireworks are awesome to watch from that lounge and I love see the EWP go by too. Poly is just our home! We like BC CL but would choose Poly over it.

I'm new to the boards so please forgive me if this is the wrong place to post. I'm staying RPC at GF in February of 2018 for our first family vacation. Is there somewhere on the boards that show a list of the wine/beer/spirits offerings that are currently available? Also if you have the Disney Dining plan, do you find any reason to hit up the lounge in the evenings? Since we're going when the parks close around 8PM most nights I figured that my husband and I or my parents could enjoy the lounge in the later evening, any idea when the desserts/drinks are put away for the night? Sorry for such a newbie post.

8-10 for desserts and drinks. The lounge is technically open since its in a hallway. You can linger in the many couches and chairs scattered everywhere.

My March Sugar Loaf 8-10pm pix show:Baileys, Kahlua, Grand Marnier, courvoisier, a Reisling, some sparkling, a cab and pinot noir. Bud light, angry orchard, hopscape(?) and another beer in an orange bottle I can't read. Beers and wines do vary but they usually have a decent selection of those out 5-7p..

You can get 2 per person at a time so stock up if near 10

Also upon request all day. I have gotten the cognac mid day on going home day to ease the pain of departure.

Thanks for the information! I figure we won't be back until closer to 9 PM most nights but we are traveling with a 3 year old in tow for her first visit so we might be "home" earlier than expected. Would be nice for the adults to be able to grab a drink or two while one set puts the little one to bed in the room.

Sometimes I grab a wine mid day when not busy and put in my room or frig for later if you have free time earlier. I put plastic over top or put in a coffee to go cup and take a glass with me. Its nice to have that night cap waiting after a nice disney night.

I’ve stayed in 1204 before. We absolutely loved it. It was a free upgrade...we could never actually afford to stay there! I’d stay there again in a heartbeat if I could!

Is there some reason you went to the CL to refresh rather than calling housekeeping?

It was a nightmare! You are talking to central reservation and not someone
from the hotel it self. First time we called housekeeping er mousekeeping
and ask for towels, we were told an hour or so wait. Plus they didn’t have k-cups either. The suite was nice but very plain we thought. After they refurb the suite they lost the touch.
No jacuzzi, no DVD , no special touches. No robes. There was a sunken tub one person( meaning very tight for plus size people) and no grab bar. Plus when we wanted to sleep in and the don’t disturb was up mousekeeping keep knocking. CL
food was small pickings . Less food.
Gardens are beautiful and relaxing.
That was the only positive thing. So for us Polly, AKL or Beach Club

We would stay at Polly. Friendly CM’s
Food and Drinks,Pool, Fireworks on the beach, and ” live shows”. Everything
Love it!

We liked poly cl way better then bc cl. I didn't care for the service at bc. The evening food was better at bc but the service this past august was terrible. We waited over 10 minutes for a drink, several times. The cms were right there but were busy just chatting with other guests. If they were assisting them it would have been fine, but they werent. It was someone they knew. One time I gave up waiting after 15 minutes. I asked about a welcome drink and was told to go into the lounge and grab something we will never stay there again. There was another dis member there the same week as me and they had a good experience.

We Agree! Same thing happen to us.From the time we arrival till time we left poor service. August till September.Never again.

I can't answer any of your questions but want to help you NOT feel bad for a "newbie" post!! That's exactly what a lot of people on this thread love to help out with!!

Someone has probably already answered you but at Poly, they put beer in the fridge around noon. You can request beer/wine from any of the CLs at any time. It’s not all that common but I’ve seen people request beverages with breakfast.

Full disclosure, I’ve only stayed one night at BC CL vs lots of nights at Poly CL, but for a first CL stay I think I would vote Poly. To me it’s more of the “whole package” when it comes to CL vs BC CL.

Although if this were me, I’d first answer what’s more important to you in terms of location/resort amenities and then see what resort fits best. Here are some random ramblings:

BC - F&W will likely be going on so the easy walk to Epcot could be a big advantage if important to you. SAB is a great pool but depending on the ages of your kids may be ‘too much’? For slightly older kids they’re probably going to love it. (ETA: Sorry, I just saw in a later post BC is your favorite resort so you already know all of this, sorry!). The BC CL is nice but doesn’t have a view of anything and closes in between services. I really liked the food/beverage there (more than Poly CL), but it’s just a different vibe. It’s a bit more of a generic setting.

Poly - MNSSHP will be going on then, so Poly is a bonus if you plan on attending (location) or just want to watch the special fireworks from the Poly beach or the Poly CL lounge. The Poly CL lounge is arguably the best on property when it comes to size, views, and overall vibe. Except for peak breakfast and evening app times, it is one of my favorite physical places to be in all of WDW. I’ve done some Sept stays at Poly and depending on when in Sept - have REALLY enjoyed the pools there with lower crowds.

Overall our family tends to be more MK-centric than anything else, so the MK resorts have to date been my location of choice, for the most part. Poly is great with Epcot too since you can walk directly to TTC to catch the Epcot monorail.

FYI, to answer your question about somewhere on the boards to find a “list” - unfortunately that’s tough to come by. Food/beverage offerings tend to change and evolve over time, so a ‘list’ doesn’t really exist. The best thing to to is watch this thread for people’s trip reports. I know several thread regulars will be at RPC in the coming months and are likely to come back with the latest details.

Also someone recently posted LOTS of RPC photos on the GF thread, I think sometime in the last month. I can’t remember who or exactly when, but if you go there and start looking through posts from 9/1+, I think you’ll be able to find it.

Sorry I can’t be better help - sometimes with DIS you have to spend a lot of time searching and asking to find stuff.

Also lastly, I was just looking at my RPC photos from Feb 2016 the other day and it had me all . I need to find a way to get back there myself sometime!

Thanks for all this! Definitely makes me lean towards Poly. Sadly though I got my quote back and it's a huge jump from standard view to garden view CL, even with my TA's discount. DH got my hopes up requesting a quote, then he was shocked by the price so crushed my dreams It was more than I thought as well. I just compared the difference between SV and GV CL on rack rates, and it was less of a jump than the difference with my TA's rates. Makes me wonder if her quote was correct. Maybe I'll double check it.

BC SV CL is probably within the budget, but since we'll be at BC two months prior to this trip I'm not sure that it's worth the bump to CL over trying somewhere different (kind of - I've spent 2 nights at Poly in the past)

Your questions have been answered, but I wanted to say I hope you have a great time as RPC is amazing! The lounge is large/spacious with beautiful views of the grounds and it's relaxing sitting with a snack/drink while listening to the orchestra play. Hope you have a great time .

I am thinking about changing my dates for next year to the Labor Day Special, (when its released) at the Beach Club CL for a few nights instead of in May. Probably will run close to the same price, so why not? I've never done CL, so I am seriously thinking of treating my family.

It's been released - I just booked today

The discount for CL (at Poly) wasn't nearly as good as I expected though. We went with SV Poly. I didn't get BC CL quoted.
