Lounge experience ...
I don't know whether it was an anomaly or not, but on Saturday the number of people waiting for rooms late on into the day was astounding. By counting groups with leis (thanks for the visual clues!) there were at least 5 families still waiting for rooms when we were there around 3:30. Some were quite content, some visibly a little bothered and one woman so annoyed she had taken it upon herself to lay down and have a nap on the bench.
For those traveling with guests around 21 - our 22 and 25 year old daughters were freely given access to the wine area and beers in the fridge. The only time my younger daughter was 'carded' was when her father sent her to get a couple of 'pool beers' at 11:30 am and she had to ask for them.
Breakfast was basically the same every morning (oatmeal, breads, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, fruit) with the extra protein changing from day to day. Thursday - turkey, Friday - chorizo, Saturday - ? since we were headed for AK at 6:15 am, Sunday - smoked salmon.
Mid-day - beers now make their appearance in the fridge - was basically the same (make your own trail mix, cookies, chips) and make-your-own lettuce wraps with the protein alternating between small shrimp and chicken. Most days there were goldfish, one of our 4 days it was gummy bears instead. I have to say I loved the wonton chips!! (worked nicely with the peanut sauce from the lettuce wraps)
Evening - wine and Ku'ulei's punch now make their appearance on the wine bar. I did not write down any of the appetizers, I'll see what I remember. Each night had bread and spreads, crudites (on Sunday it was in individual cups vs. a large platter), peanut butter and jelly uncrustables, fruit, cheese selections. I can't remember the first 2 nights specifically but involved were pot stickers, california rolls, Hawaiian meatballs, seared tuna, and some other seafood items (I don't eat seafood, so my attention span is shorter for those items) Saturday - pork belly, tuna crudo, beet salad, pot stickers; Sunday - pulled pork (I could have eaten a salad bowl of the thinly-shaved pickled cucumbers and radishes used as garnishes), teriyaki chicken skewers with pineapple salsa, shrimp salad, pork pate
Night time - cordials make their appearance, wine and punch stay - we were only there one night since we usually go to the parks at night. On that one night there were cookies and I remember a cream puff, a peanut butter and chocolate pastry, a strawberry cheesecake and I can't remember the last selection.
If you would like to bring with you a bottle of Myer's dark rum - it makes the perfect tropical drink when mixed with Ku'ulei's punch

- particularly if you put some in to-go cups in your fridge for the pool the next day

My daughters also enjoyed the combination of the punch and sparkling wine.
I know it has come up in discussions for different club levels - the Poly CL did not stop anyone from taking closed beers or wine glasses out of the lounge.
I also must say that I was dismayed at the behavior of some of the guests in the lounge - for the most part all were considerate, but there were exceptions. I thought the CMs were great, friendly and showed a lot of grace and patience.
