Staying at GF SL in August. Can you get water bottles from the lounge or am I better off getting a couple of cases from garden grocer?
So I am seriously considering moving our reservation from the BC CL back to YC CL we have 2 rooms booked as my adult kids are joining us (1 lagoon view for hubby and I and 1 standard view for the kids.) if I want to be close to the lounge at YC will Lagoon view offer rooms close to the elevator/ lounge? Don't want a long walk. Also is the garden view category bookable!? Is it the same as a standard view? For DH and I , I chose Lagoon view as I'd like a view of the boardwalk/ lagoon (lighthouse) where the boats to DHS come in. Wanting to be not too far from the lounge and hoping for a king bed room for Hubby and I. Would like the kids' room to be close to us it won't likely be joined I know as they are in a standard view.
FWIW, we didn't this last trip but usually will buy a case of Dasani from the resort store and keep them in the room fridge.
Hey ☺ thanks for your reply! Lagoon view is a bookable category at YC CL, the room is costing me more than the kids SV room. I'll be sure to request close to the lounge ☺ if you're close to the lounge are you generally close to the elevator too?GV CL at BC and YC is close to the lounge. As far as SV and WV, it's just a request. You could be very close or pretty far from it. The touring plans "room finder" thing is pretty good at showing the layout of the floor and the room types (just don't trust it as far as the # of beds though).
Thanks for your reply Babsy! I'm confused, is there a boat dock to the back as well as the one to the front by the lighthouse? Maybe I'll look at changing the kids to a garden view and I'll be sure to request a view of the front / boardwalk area for our lagoon view -- realizing it's just a request of course / I would think a view of SAB could be pretty too, sorry you had a cruddy view and I hope you where able to change rooms??? ETA I think I realize what you mean by the back boat dock views - that is actually considered the back of the resort?? The front is where you drive into check in and where the buses are/ lol - to me I always felt the back felt like the front I would love a "back boatdock view" lolFYI:
The view of the 'lighthouse' is a request only. Booking the lagoon view is also booking a pool view as I learned to our sorrow on our last trip to YC CL. the views looking out to the boat docking are gorgeous and close to the lounge. However, the pool view overlooks an ugly roof and can be very far from the lounge. I really don't think that you should pay the same price for these two room views. I would prefer a parking lot view to the one we had of the roof and Stormalong Bay. We will never book lagoon view again at the YC because I NEVER want to look at that again.
However, the rooms overlooking the back entrance and boat dock are extremely nice. We were in one of these the trip before and they are truly awesome!
There is a garden view as well as the standard view also available as booking categories in CL. There is a small increase in the charge for garden view over standard. Standard view is of the parking lot, garden view overlooks the grounds or wooded areas. If the kids are in standard view, they will likely be facing in the opposite direction from your room.
Silly question, but do you remember how much they charge for a case of Dasani? (is it the regular bottles/24 pack)?
Not sure if they provide them but if they don't, most resorts sell 24 packs of water bottles in the gift shops for ~$6.50.Staying at GF SL in August. Can you get water bottles from the lounge or am I better off getting a couple of cases from garden grocer?
Probably a really dumb question but here goes...as far as the Polynesian club level goes...it seems if we've got our hearts set on a balcony we would be better off booking a non CL room? I'd like to try CL but am hesitant to because of that very reason. Any thoughts?

We would book garden view. Thank you for your replyIt depends on your view category, to some extent. Which view category in Poly CL are you considering?
For example...
Poly CL GV - 1/3 chance of first floor with patio, 1/3 chance of second floor with no balconcy, 1/3 chance of third floor with balcony.
Poly CL TPV - Rooms are mostly second (no balcony) and third floor (balcony).
Poly CL LV - Rooms are mostly first floor (patio). (There are exceptions but I'm simplying for the odds)
You can request a third floor room to increase your odds, but requests aren't guaranteed (although I've generally had good luck with my rooms requests at Poly).
The other resort longhouses are the same as Hawaii - first floor patio, second floor no balcony, third floor balcony (except that one that is two stories). The three longhouses that were built later that have a second floor balcony are now DVC.
Hope that helps!

Yes it is. I used water view instead but I think we mean the same thing. Most of the SV rooms are across the hall from the LV rooms, and they are spread out all over the 5th floor. So I would definitely ask to be close the lounge if it matters (and yes, that also means you will be close to the elevators). Hope this helps.
We would book garden view. Thank you for your reply![]()

Thanks so much. That's a great price for a resort store. I'm sure it's just the 16.9oz.I'm 'pretty sure' it's $6.99, minus the AP discount if that applies to you. It's a very friendly price for Disney standards, IMO.
They are regular size for my definition of regular (not sure of actual water measure) and it's a 24 pack. For the size, they are smaller than the single bottles you buy in the park, but larger than the 'minis' they have in the lounge.
Hope that helps.
