Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Anyone at the BWI CL today? I just read on the BWI board that they are supposed to be updating the food offerings today. It sounded good and I was hoping that someone could confirm it for us.
I am interested in hearing this as well! We will be there in 20 days, our first girls trip! (My mom, daughter and I) They don't know I booked CL, can't wait to surprise them!

So sorry for your loss Trish.

We are heading to AKL club in 2 weeks
On our second day we are heading to MK which has early entry at 7am. Will we be able to get any breakfast from club before leaving? Assume we will be leaving by 630
Thanks all

Trisha
At age 16 dad took each of his 4 kids on a "dad and me trip". Anywhere in the world you wanted(he worked for an airline). I couldn't decide between Disney World or Paris. I picked WDW back in 1979.

5 years ago I took my parents for their first onsite stay and we stayed at CSR. When I am at HS I always think of dad when I get "our favorite" a cherry turnover.

It was awesome having them at disney all to myself with no grandkids or siblings for competition of attention. I was their personal escort and boy did we have fun!

I think Mom and I will need another CL trip for her birthday March1(we went on a mom n me at poly cl 11/14). Things should be settled down by then. Hmm I better go look for a visa discount for that!

Oh Trisha so sad to hear about your dad, sending you and your family deepest sympathy and best thoughts as you move through this time of grieving. Our dads love us so much, it is very hard to lose that presence. While their spirit never leaves us, it is a hard road for a while.

Your plan for you and your mom for her birthday is AWESOME!! It will be a special way to be together though a milestone day.

So glad to hear you're going back to WL CL in January. You won't regret it. COBBLER!!!!! The lounge lacked the magic of the prior area overlooking the lobby and Bay Lake, but it was lovely and CMs were fantastic. They really showed how much they care about the guest experience when I was there in July. They had lots of presence and I had wonderful interactions with them. Mike met me when I arrived and escorted me up to the lounge, so it was a great start to the trip to enjoy his particular dedication and kindness. Another CM told me that they were working out their schedules to have someone available to do curbside greeting because they heard from guests how much they missed it when it was discontinued. CMs were one of the most special things about my trip. The food was great, the hearty satisfying soups and stews (not to mention COBBLER!!!) are perfect for a winter visit.

Big hugs!!

I don't think you will be able to get any breakfast that early in the morning from the lounge. The BWI CL has coffee out at 6:30 in the morning but food offerings are closer to 7:00 am.

We want to do a split stay 3 nights BCCL garden view and the PolyCL for 5 nights.

We have never stayed at the BC, but are excited to do so. What recommendations do you have for requests?
Are there any requests to make?

Thanks!

I can't vouch for AKL CL but assuming it's like others, most likely no. I believe all/most start coffee service at 6:30 with breakfast at 7. If I were you I'd hoard a bit of breakfast food the day before and keep it in your room/fridge so you have something on hand, if that's important to you. Some CLs (like Poly) do tend to have wrapped apples and bananas out all the time, not sure if that's the case at AKL.

7AM MK opening - good luck with that! :-)

Thanks both. Coffee to go it is then.

Good to hear again nice things about WL CL. It was so fun being there with you last time 1/15. Our dates are 1/15-20/17 just in case you have a few days free.

Well it doesn't matter how old you are a female will always be daddy's little girl in her heart.

Poor lys lost one gpa the fall of her symster year of college and now the other her senior yr. She keeps asking me if we will see you again. So hopefully someday!

I have been wanting to book a different kind of adventure for us, so I have a Disney cruise to Alaska booked for next August! It's not Disney World, but at least it's still Disney!

I hope you enjoy your cruise! We've never cruised DCL, but have cruised Alaska and it is AMAZING! I'm sure you'll have a great time :boat:.

I went ahead and booked Poly GV CL yesterday and feel like it will be a great location for what our trip will entail. Very excited!

You will have a great time! Happy planning :wizard:.

What a great surprise! Hope you have a great trip :goodvibes.

I have only stayed there once. I know some ask for close to lounge. We were pretty far from the lounge but had a lovely view so I didn't mind.

They also have random bedding options so if you need a certain configuration ask for that .

We loved the new rooms and lounge. I posted pix in Nov 2015 on the BC thread if interested.

We are (myself, DH, DD11, DS3) looking at the Poly CL and the Grand Floridian (SL) CL as we have not stated at either resort. Which would you say has better food offerings?
What are your thoughts on the Lounges? I have heard SL is not very relaxing? Thank you for your help!

I totally agree with what others have posted in response to this. GF has the better food offerings -- better quality and more variety. It's not that Poly's food is horrible -- we're always satisfied with what they put out. However, having experienced GF, BC, BWI, and WL, we know that Poly rates low on the food poll. That being said, the first picture posted by GADisneyDad14 sums up why we actually prefer the Poly CL experience over most others, and that's the view from the Poly lounge. It just sets the tone for the entire vacation. What could be better than seeing that spectacular view first thing every single day and last thing every single night. While I have not stayed at SL (only RPC), I understand the SL lounge is "enclosed" (without a view) if that matters to you. To our family, the lounge is a huge part of our trip, so it's easier for us to weed out which CL's we like the most.

Well I got the call from Mom, they were having a great day and then my Dad just passed away at 1pm on Sunday. It has been a bittersweet week. We were thankful there was no pain and he lived a nice long full life of 75 years and 55 years of marriage. My 2 out of town siblings are staying with me and help with my older sis we managed to get through this week.

As I was getting ready for the Wake on Wednesday some of my Disboards buddies texted me the Visa discount was out. I was like now??? really? UGH ok I don't have time for this now but Ill look. I call dd21 to see where she wanted to go(at Target getting last minute needed things). We got 25% and ended up cheaper than our current booking at CR GV so ..... WL cl it is!

Just hearing some happiness in here voice was such a nice thing. I too am looking at doing the deluxe room. Thanks for posting the pix.

We stayed there in Jan 2015 so Its ok it not perfect this trip. Circus girl sent me pix of the temp lounge so I am aware of that. WL experts do you this the view of the current available deluxe rooms would be worth it vs only getting north wing rooms at the 7th floor?

We didn't care for the enclosed balcony on the 7th so maybe if deeper discount I might switch. I can;t remember the exact price (sure u understand) but just over $400 for Std cl and $510 for deluxe with visa discount so If general or pass holder lower I may switch.

Any input would be appreciated. Back to work and school for us today. It sure is nice having "dis" at times like this, the distraction is helpful.

Trish...
So sorry for your loss. I lost my dad two years ago and it's still hard.

Hey all - posted this on the GF board and figured I'd copy here too since we stayed RPC. Let me know if you have any questions about current offerings, etc at RPC - I'll lyk what I know/remember!

We had room 4320 on the 3rd floor of the GF Main Building (RPC) the week ending 9/24 and below are some pics. It's at the start of the hallway right by the concierge desks and the elevators. We could hear the people in the room next to us through the connecting door. The balcony overlooked a very busy entrance and we looked at the pool. We were able to see the Wishes/MNSSHP fireworks from the room, but during the day it was too noisy to really relax out there. The balcony doors are wood and didn't close completely so we had to override the sensors for the A/C because we walked into a hot and stuffy room our first night. Room size was nice and I liked RPC ok, but I like a nice quiet cup of coffee on the balcony in the morning and this was way too "middle of the action" for me.

This is one of the reasons I didn't care for SL. I enjoy sitting in a lounge with views, which SL does not have since the lounge is located in the center of the lobby as you enter the SL building :(.

To our family, the lounge is a huge part of our trip, so it's easier for us to weed out which CL's we like the most.

This is us as well :).

Thanks for your review, love the pics! My favorite view when staying RPC is overlooking the beach pool with the lagoon/Poly in the distance, but your view of the courtyard pool is also beautiful :cloud9:.

Trish I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom at the end of last year and it is so hard. Disney definitely made it better.:)

Thanks so much everyone for your opinions! I went ahead and booked Poly GV CL yesterday and feel like it will be a great location for what our trip will entail. Very excited! Now to stop myself from upgrading to LV or TPV before the trip:rotfl2:...... Erica will you please add me to your calendar for January 27-31, Poly GV CL:cool1:

Thanks again for your help!

Erica is you can change me to POLY TPV CL for my January dates. I knew I would have to do it...:cool1: I have become the queen of rationalizing!!!:dance3:
I also requested 3rd floor balcony. Fingers crossed:thumbsup2

I just have to say YAY to this! Every time I hear of someone booking my favorite type of room in WDW, it makes me smile :sunny:.
We also love 1st floor, but I think most of those rooms are now LV. Definitely not the same type of view as 3rd floor TPV.

Great pics and thank you for posting! I'm sorry it was too noisy to relax on your balcony. That's one of our favorite parts about staying there and Poly -- sitting out on the balcony/patio enjoying a drink and taking in the view. We stayed in Room 4313 during Easter week, which is on the 3rd floor furthest down the hall of the standard rooms (right next to the suite and the secret elevator), and our room/balcony was really quiet so maybe you were just in a high traffic area? I know it kind of dampers the trip. We had a room like that once while staying at WL but the balcony was closed panel so we really couldn't enjoy sitting out there with a view of the panels anyway lol.

I'm interested in the food offerings and what you thought of them. There are conflicting recent reports on the offerings. We went during last Easter while cutbacks were going on but we still felt like the food was fabulous, and I read that supposedly the food is back to the old standards so even better than we experienced. What did you think? Thanks!

Maybe we will run into you! My son and I will be at the Poly GV CL from Jan. 29- Feb. 2. We will be at the BWI deluxe CL from Dec. 4- Dec. 10 so I couldn't rationalize a TPV room at the Poly a month later. Though I did try!:)
