DH and i are right now sitting on the 4th floor of RPC enjoying desserts. Staff has been fabulous. We can see the castle in the back ground and the boat parade just went by

A previous poster said there were lots of flies around the food service area. Are you noticing that too? The last time we were at RPC was about 3 years ago & there were fruit flies there then. At that time, people said it was unusual. Bugs around food really gross me out & I'll be really upset if it happens again.

Not open directly to outside, but it on the 4th floor balcony area. So it is above the lobby. Still doesn't seem like there should be flies regularly. No more exposed than any buffet.

Oh my goodness - Poly CL is everything I hoped for and more! I'm in the lounge now enjoying a quiet breakfast and it's just so beautiful. Irv is here this morning and he really should be declared a national treasure - love him! All the CM's have been wonderful and really made us feel special. There was even a fresh flower lei and other goodies in the room for my birthday! We have a lovely view of the Oasis pool which is surprisingly peaceful and serene. I have almost another week here - will post a trip report and pics when I'm back. Not that I want to think about going home!!

Glad you're having a great time and enjoying Poly CL. We love the Poly and can't wait to return next summer and try CL. Looking forward to your report/pics. Enjoy the rest of your stay .

I have noticed that many of you post about a certain CM named Irv at the Poly! I am his granddaughter and I wanted to make a post about his popularity. He is very grateful that so many of you post about him and loves to tease me about how "famous" he is. He really appreciates guests like you guys that make his job so much more enjoyable. He loves working at the Poly and loves making guests smile. He always has a fun story to tell me about guests whenever I see him! Yes it is, this shall be our 7th year going down for Christmas , and 6th year in a row staying on CL for Christmas, kinda stinks that we cant get in a day eariler but ill take what we can get

Has anyone ever stayed in one of the Deluxe rooms at the Beach Club? We booked one for next year's trip. I know they are not terribly close to the lounge, but I'm hoping the big increase in room size will be worthwhile. We love the Beach Club, and I have been really wanting to stay there. I adore the pool and the close proximity to the WS in the evening. The rest of the family is fairly split in where they want to stay. My oldest wants to stay at the CR. We had a fantastic CL stay there two years ago. I loved the hotel, though the storage in the room was somewhat lacking. I remember that was somewhat less than ideal. We had a great time at the Poly. We loved the location, the beautiful grounds, and we had wonderful staff. The pool situation there is not the best - way too small and crowded for my liking. AKL looks amazing, but we need a suite and I don't feel that it is a good value since we dont spend all that much time in the room. We would splurge like that for a cruise but not a resort.

Thoughts? Any alternatives I should consider? We are looking at a 10 day stay.

I just received my welcome letter for our upcoming AKL CL stay and it mentioned wine and cheese in the evenings. On previous stays, offerings included several appetizers from Boma and Jiko. Does anyone know if they have changed the 5-7 pm offerings to just wine and cheese? Thanks!

They still have hot appetizers, in addition to the wine and cheese.

Poly CL is the one resort that I have a hard time leaving. Don't get me wrong, I love all other CL stays, especially fond of RPC, but there is something serene and calm about Poly CL that lures me in and makes me miss it while not there.

And I'm with everyone else about Irv -- he has been our family favorite for many, many years. Disney is very lucky to have him because it's hard to find employees who go above and beyond to please the guests. @thepiedpiper you have a wonderful grandfather!

Not a particularly critical question but just curious. I e-mailed the CR IPO today to add my room requests to a reservation. The human reply (not the immediate auto reply) came from the CR IPO e-mail address but the signature in the e-mail was the GF IPO with GF IPO contact info. I know some of the IPOs either share resorts or handle overflow, is that accurate? Would that be the reason for the GF signature? Or just human error?

Like I said, not critical, just curious. Thanks!

GF and CR share IPO. Or, at least they have in my past experience.

The CR IPO is the same as the GF IPO. They are located at the GF but handle both resorts
