Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I don't disagree at all. They should do better, without a doubt. Especially since it's a service they advertise.
Though I wonder, if someone books online without reading what CL is, does it ever mention IPO services? I can't remember

The only thing I found about IPO was on the disney site where you choose your room. Under "amenities" (which you have to click to open the section to read it) it says
  • Pre-arrival Walt Disney World Resort itinerary planning
So maybe everyone's definition of itinerary planning is different? In any case, I'll be at the GF so no matter what it's better than being home mopping floors and watching ESPN!

Just back from Poly Cl. The resort was beautiful - loved the transportation options. Buses even came quick. Was not greeted at curb but was directed inside Main Lobby to check in - after completing process that CM walked us to the Hawaii building. Don't know if this is the new process. She even grabbed our welcome packet as the Hawaii CMs were all busy. Our room was ready and we received our request(3522)- this room is far from the lounge (what I wanted) and on 3rd floor*(I had requested 2nd or 3rd.) Beautiful view of Oasis pool which we swam in and loved. Now some negatives - we have stayed numerous times at WLCl so I am comparing to that. The CMs at the desk in Hawaii were not very friendly - didn't even say goodbye on our last day as we passed them with our luggage. Only two CMs in the lounge were friendly - rest just greeted you, nothing else. Breakfast was fine - usual stuff - liked having hard boiled eggs. Dinner I thought was skimpy on variety. They kept replenishing which was good. WL offers more but that may change when they move the lounge. Wine is still self serve. I guess I was expecting more as it costs more to stay there.
Please don't let my review change anyone's plans. We did like being there - room was lovely. The resort has a ton of positives - just felt that the CL part was less than magical.

I am a long-time "lurker" on this thread, and wanted to thank everyone for all the amazing info and updates they have provided on here! I am currently booked in a garden view room (non-CL) at Beach Club for a December girl's trip with 3 other friends (30-somethings). While I've spent tons of time on the disboards and watching reviews, I am still very torn about what to do. We definitely want to stay deluxe, and the only hotel that was voted out was AKL. (I'm staying solo a few days there at the beginning of our trip!) The only experience I've had with CL was at AKL in the short time earlier this year in May when the club lounge was relocated. It was ok, but I know it could have been so much better! I guess my question is, what Epcot resort CL would you recommend? I understand YC will be in refurb mode, and while I love the renovation pictures from BC, I'm thinking that BWI might be more adult-friendly (we're there the week of Pop Warner). Does anyone have a clear favorite for an adult trip, especially in December? (Side note, I originally had booked Poly CL but changed when the discounts came out. Most regular MK resort CL are booked when we're there, Dec 8-13.) TIA!!

Can anyone confirm that the menu for the Contemporary listed on this thread is current?
Just curious what they will have and While I know it doesn't change too often - the one listed here has been the same for a looooong time :)

I am staying here now - I don't know what the menu posted is but for breakfast they have oatmeal, yogurt (both with stuff to mix in), fruit, cheddar and Swiss cheese, hars boiled eggs, some meat and maybe smoked salmon, pastries, bagels, cereal. The pastries rotate.

Snack has cookies, chips, granola, yogurt pretzels, plain pretzels, goldfish, gummy bears and m&m's. They have little snack bags.

Evening apps for kids they always have peanut butter and jelly and rotate corn dogs, Mac and cheese and chicken tenders. They have a soup, crudités, cheese tray, and two hot appetizers. We have seen pork pot stickers, lamb meatballs, duck quesadillas, tuna bites. Don't recall the rest.

Desserts are the cookies, mini cupcakes, and then 2-3 other things - A smore's dessert, mint Oreo, caramel popcorn, blueberry. I have enjoyed many.

They always have out sodas and whole fruit.

I remember writing a few picky critical comments afterwards about RPC but looking at my photos just now, I WANT TO GO BACK!!!

RPC will do that to you ;).

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry about the not-so-friendly CMs, but glad you enjoyed the Poly overall :wizard:.

We've never stayed CL at any of the Epcot resorts, but if I had to choose, I'd go with BWI CL as that seems to get the best reviews (IMO). Good luck :).

I would highly recommend the BWI CL but at this late date I think all the EPCOT resorts are booked solid. I know for my dates 12/3-12/10 they are showing only an opening 1 or 2 days together at most.

Hmmm, right now all three have CL listed as available for my dates...although from the 5-8th there is pretty much nothing available, I'm glad I at least got a decent price at AKL! I'm really tempted to switch to BWI, right now the only thing available is Boardwalk view. It would be 1200 more than my current BC room, and 800 more than YC CL. I'm sure I'm going to have to do some number crunching and more over-thinking! :ssst: Thanks!

Sooo excited. DH and I are exactly 3 weeks from our 20th wedding anniversary trip. Staying AKV Club Level 9/8-9/14 and this is our first ever CL stay. We have studio and I have requested a savannah view, but I am thinking about sending a separate request for a specific room. Which studio has the best view? I have read that they are all a bit obstructed.

Any advice on services that we should take advantage of (other than the food/drinks in the lounge). :)

Ralphmiller007- Wow I just looked and your right. Our dates are Dec.3-Dec.10 and there is nothing but once you get to the 8 a lot of rooms open up. I would jump at the chance to stay at the BWI CL but I just love the CM at this hotel so I'm a little biased:).

Thanks for checking in after your stay! Glad you had a good time overall. Been to Poly CL several times now and I will recommend Poly CL all day long, but I can't say I really disagree with any of your observations. It's funny, I've had great Poly front desk CL CM experiences and some really bad ones where I left never wanting to come back (but of course I did). And I totally hear you about walking out with no goodbye - that always seems to happen to us too. Although our stay a couple of weeks ago rated pretty high on overall CM friendliness/service. It can be inconsistent unfortunately, but I guess that is the hospitality industry in general (not saying that's right or not, just an observation). Also unfortunately, more money doesn't necessarily mean "better" CL experiences when it comes to food/variety as Poly CL can be on the weaker side in that department, again, relatively speaking.

Thanks again for posting! I have WL CL in my sights once all the construction is done someday.

Last fall we had one sweet young girl from GA (she was actually from within 15 miles of our hometown). She went above and beyond for me, went to the CM break room to get me food storage containers and packed up our uneaten 'Ohana bread pudding and banana sauce from our room service meal so that we could take it home with us. Other than that, pretty much exactly how you described it, although we were able to get continuous carafes of filtered water to take back to our room (was told that wasn't available at BWI)

Poly is my fav hotel so I also agreed with both of you about the poly negatives. They are minor so I keep going back.

Jan 2014 dd and I tried WL CL . I really loved it. She didn't like the food but I loved the more homey stuff! Cobbler every night was so yummy! Hands down the CMs were the friendliest of any of my CL stays. I loved sitting and looking down towards lobby or out the window. My friend Circusgirl sent me pix from her last stay and I don't think I'd enjoy the current set up.

I have been busy and need to check to see what the final set up will be.

Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts. This is right on par with what most people say/think. We are in the same boat -- we love Poly CL and it is our favorite place to stay in Disney. I agree about the negatives, though, but we can live with them obviously since we keep going back! I think it's the superb views and location of the CL building that seals the deal. The food is fine for what we want, but after experiencing other CL's it's very glaring that Poly is poor in that department.

Good morning! :)

So sorry for the delay with updating the guest list, I was out of the country with limited internet access. But I'm back now and I don't have any travel plans for a couple of months. Hooray!!! :D I swear I haven't been home all summer, I'm exhausted and ready to settle down into a normal routine.

If I missed anyone who wants to be added to the guest list just send me a PM and I'll take care of that asap! :flower1:

I can't help with views as we've never stayed AKL CL, but wanted to say I hope you have a great anniversary trip and enjoy CL :wizard:.

I don't think you'd regret it. WL CL gets a lot of great reviews. We loved everything about it and will eventually go back after we try a few other clubs ;).

I agree! :thumbsup2

We (myself, DH and DD) have a reservation from November 15 -23 at GF SL. We started out at YC, but with the refurb starting soon, I didn't want to chance it. It was work, but we were finally able to move over to GF. Have only stayed CL at AKL a couple of times before (and 1 time BC at CS). We are looking forward to a new adventure! Not quite the RPC that I would REALLY love, but baby steps....maybe next year
