Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Hey! Thanks for the reply! I'm sorry if it's confusing, but we all booked at Poly!!! None of us have stayed there before, so everyone is excited. They did call and speak to a CM and there were just no CL rooms at BC for them to book. They said there was nothing they could do. I was looking forward to the BC pool, but we can always stay there next year.

If that's the case and you are all happy with it, then I think it's great! I love the Poly CL, we have stayed there 4 or 5 times. The food isn't as quite as good as other CLs IMO, and the lounge can be an unbelievable zoo at 5:00 exactly, but the plusses outweigh these small things. The 2 story lounge with the 2 story picture window facing the castle is amazing, I love watching Wishes from the lounge with the music piped in, and the location to the pools can't be beat. I also love the Poly in general, the feel of the resort just resonates with my entire family. Also, except for around 5:00, the lounge is a great place to just hang out and relax, much better than the YC lounge for that. IMO the only things that makes the YC/BC better are stormalong bay and the ability to walk to Epcot and DHS, and that has nothing to do with CL. I prefer the Poly CL over the YC CL, i haven't stayed at the BC CL. Another huge plus to the Poly is the ability to take the monorail to the MK and walk to the TTC so you can take a direct monorail to Epcot.

I don't call IPO often (usually it is to give cc info) but I have never had to wait on hold for more than a couple of minutes. You could try 407-WDW-CLUB, if that goes to a different place I imagine they could also take your cc info. Or maybe email and ask if THEY can call YOU or give you suggestions based on your trouble. If your are in a time crunch and need to give them the info today and can't wait I guess you're kind of stuck. I'm always in a quandry - hang up and try again later or just hang on. I always imagine them answering immediately after I hang up!
As I was typing a response to you, they answered! I was so surprised. Our ADR window opens on the 6th, so I wasn't on a HUGE time crunch, but it was getting down to it. I'm glad that's taken care of now. Thank you for your help!

I'm so glad they answered. See, that's always my worry - the second I give up and hang up they answer!!! In your case it could have been true!

I don't get it- what's the big deal about Disney not giving out bottled water? For what we pay for CL it should be free! They give out beer, soda, ... for people to take. What's so special about water?!

I agree completely - I've thought about asking the exact question several times!!

May I ask... Does Poly CL serve those homemade potato chips? I don't see them mentioned or in any pictures. Thanks!!!

They have not for any of our stays, but the last one was last August. I want to say I have read at least one post since then that they did have the homemade chips. I was hoping they do have them now, we are staying there in August. I have to say, the Poly's afternoon snacks are by far the worst of all of the CLs we have stayed at. IIRC just cookies, some kind of snack thing (chocolate covered almonds, chocolate covered pretzels, a dried mix) , and something like gummie bears. Nice to have something, but at RPC, CR, WL, and YC they had quite a bit more for snacks, including those addictive chips with ranch to dip them in!

Oh I hope so too!!! The chips are our favorite!!!!!! I have been looking everywhere for updated pictures! Let's keep our fingers crossed!!!!!!

@mrsap we stayed Poly CL for 3 nights in April and they did serve the delicious homemade chips each afternoon! With ranch sauce if you like. Yummy! In fact one afternoon we arrived later toward the end of snack time and they were gone! But the other days there were plenty!

I hope they'll be available for your stay too. We really enjoyed our CL stay.

You just made my day!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU so much!

Thank you!! You're always SO helpful!!!!! I'm loving the lounge! The view is truly amazing! I like the convenience of relaxing and watching the fireworks each night. My kids liked the pool too, although they said the slide looked scary lol I just hope this is the last time we switch! :sad2:

Awww thanks .....and you're welcome :goodvibes.

I think your kids will like the slide as it's not scary ;).

Good to hear :thumbsup2.

Less than a month to go for our first Poly CL stay! I'm getting a little excited... :)

So far the only interaction I've had with IPO was when I put in my request for a high floor room and to inquire about Tiffin's reservations. At the time there was no date set for ADRs and they told me to keep checking so I booked it on my own when it opened up. I had asked if there was anything planned for the weekend of the 4th and they said they had no idea - even about whether there would still be a spot on the beach for us - back then either (March 8th). We also went ahead and got our own FP+ reservations at the 60 day mark since I wasn't sure what asking them to do it would have entailed. I haven't really been impressed with their pre planning at this point, so hopefully it is much better once we are there! :)

I have never had the IPO be able to get a reservation I cannot get. I have used them to get all of my ADRs at the 180 day mark and had good luck with it getting everything we wanted (except BOG back when it was pretty new and way harder to get than even now). The first time I did that was because I was away at a conference and there was no way I could be on the computer booking at 180 days. It went so well I have used them since then, just to avoid having to be doing it myself at 7:00 AM. But when it's less than 180 days and I can't get an ADR, and I ask them to check, they just say no, nothing available. Then if I ask about continuing to check they say something about putting it on the list, but I have never had that come through. I've always found them myself. If they check at all I think it's once a day. I have found that once you are there you can get better responses from the CMs at the desk, but the IPO has never wowed me. It is nice to have them for routine things, though, so i don't have to wait in the call queue forever. You can just call them and ask your question, etc. I seem to get very generic responses to questions ahead of time, like how gluten free is handled in the lounge, or special events, upcoming things, etc...

I know I've seen this question before but I can't find it - when do you lose CL access on check-out day? Is it 11am when you have to be out of the room or all day? We're moving from YC CL to another hotel so we're planning on checking out, spending the afternoon at Stormalong Bay, and then moving to our other hotel later in the evening, but we were wondering if we're cut off at 11 or if it'd be possible to head back up to CL at any point in the afternoon while we're still at the resort or to grab some snacks before heading out.

You have access to all resort amenities up until Midnight of your check out day, including Club Level access.

This is a good question....We are going to be doing a split stay for upcoming trip 6 days at Poly CL then 4 at OKW on our DVC...OK...here is a little twist we discovered 2 weeks ago when we split a stay at Kidani....You can not check into the 2nd resort. Once you do it will deactivate that MB from your first portion of the trip. We had MB's associated with the 2 resorts, they were not interchangeable. This was a new twist as in the past they could be used. So in July, I am going to not check into the OKW until late in the day. I believe it is when you tap that MB on the door to the next reservation it shuts off the first. Does anyone have "real experience" with this recently? We intend to use Poly CL that day before moving over. I thought about calling but you know the info given will not be gospel.

They tell you that however a friend recently had a split and her MB's work d at both resoets to access CL on her transfer day.

I have a split this summer so I will find out myself.

Others asking about water...... Poly will give you a carafe of water to take the room when they have them, some do have bottles upon request, and sometimes I am told just to fill the coffee cups up and take to room. So you can have water it's just each CL lounge varies and it's ever changing too.

FYI I ask for milk and chocolate milk during the day usually with success.

I posted a long review of my recent stay at the Yacht Club Club level over on the Yacht Club thread. I thought I would copy and paste the club level part of the review- which actually seems to be most of it if I include info on the room itself. But I did pare a bit out on just the resort in general (which will probably be hard for you to believe once you see the length that is left! :rotfl2:. I also added a few things that I thought of specifically in regards to club level. If you have any interest in the rest, it's over on the Yacht and Beach Club info thread. So here it is:

We just got back from 8 nights at the YC, I'll try to do a quick review of the hotel portion of our trip. Overall it was a great trip - we loved Stormalong Bay, the rain and storms always happened at good times for our schedule, and we had no big family fights :D! We booked a standard club level room.

We arrived around 1:30 PM on Saturday May 14 on the Magical express. We walked into the lobby and someone with an ipad asked us our name and was walking over to the check in desk. I mentioned that we were club level and I thought we checked in upstairs, and it turned out that our reservation had not yet popped up on his Ipad or I assume he would have then taken us up without my prompting. he took us over to the elevator and up to the 5th floor to check in, then he got my DH and I glasses of wine and our sons milk. Check in was smooth but for some reason took forever. Me paying with gift cards for the gas points didn't help, but they were $500 each so it's not like I had tons of them. The lady checking us in was very friendly.

Our room was ready, room 5150, and when we got in it I realized we had been upgraded to a garden view room. Later on I checked MDE and it did say YC CL GV then. We looked at the gazebo, and if we looked left we could see the lake and the Boardwalk. The room also had a daybed, which I had requested. So as far as requests went, it was perfect. I had requested 1. Private Balcony 2. Daybed 3. View of something other than the front entrance or service areas. I used touring plans fax, emailed IPO, and called reservations with the same requests. The location of the room was perfect. It was only 2 doors down from the lounge, but the club level CMs and a hall were between the lounge and us so it wasn't like sound or foot traffic was an issue. We made multiple trips to the lounge each day, and it was super easy from this room. The desk CMs would say something pleasant every time we passed. You definitely couldn't do something devious from this room, you passed them every time you left :P.

My thoughts on the room itself, just in random order as they come to me.
1. I thought it looked great for being due for a renovation. The only thing I noticed that was overly worn was the bathroom door knob - for some reason it was all beat up.
2. Great drawer space. We like to totally unpack, and usually don't have enough drawers for us all (GF, I'm thinking of you!:D). Here we totally unpacked everything and even put some non clothing in drawers and had 2 empty drawers. That's amazing for the way we use a room.
3. The room seemed big enough, and I liked having the daybed, but I did notice it was smaller than the CR, GF, and Poly. Just less room by the balcony to hang out.
4. Even though the room looked good for being due for rehab, I noticed some things that I assume the rehab will remedy. The safe was tiny and in the wall like the moderates with an actual key, not like the larger safes that I have been used to in the MK resorts. There were no USB ports for charging. The heat/AC did not have a thermostat, we had to use AC until we were cold and then switch to heat until we were hot. There didn't seem to be any middle ground - just like in the office at work! Also, the carpet goes all the way to the door and bathroom sinks. In the renovated rooms at other resorts it's usually (fake) hardwood or tile in that area.
5. The outlet on the desk didn't work, but they did fix it on our 3rd day after a text and a stop at the desk.
6. I liked the was the daybed was just a big couch with huge removable throw pillows instead of the ones that you have to actually open up.
7. Lots of counter space in the bathroom. Around the sinks, a shelf elevated above the sinks, and shelving below the sinks.
8. The actual bathroom, with the toilet and tub, was tiny. They engineered the door perfectly so it just missed the toilet when it opened and closed. But it worked fine.
9. Our fridge was smaller than some other resorts, but it worked well It even froze a lot of our drinks, we had to be careful where we put them. But I love cold drinks, so I didn't turn it down, just avoided packing them around the freezer area.
10. I miss the alarm clock a lot. I meant to ask for one, but just never got around to it. It's much easier and more convenient to glance at a clock than find a phone and hit the home button. I also hated waking up at night and not knowing if it was just about time to get up or still early without actually having to reach for the phone.

Thoughts on CL and the lounge, again in random order.
1. I hate how it closes for an hour between services, except between appetizers and desserts. It seemed like we always wanted something or had a little time to kill between 10:30-11:30 or 4:00-5:00. I don't understand why the MK resorts can keep the lounge areas open and just change out the food, but the Epcot resorts can't. They said it was to clean, but the CR, Poly, and RPC manage to do it with the lounge open. Our room was being cleaned once when we came back from the pool, and since the lounge was closed so we had to go down to the lobby in our wet suits and coverups while she finished. We also couldn't grab a diet coke if we got back after 10 and hadn't remembered to keep extras in the fridge. It was just a nuisance. They could easily rope off the food area and keep the seating open, just like at other resorts. Or put a permanent way to close off the food area, like at the WL.
2. It seems odd that they couldn't have managed to put the lounge somewhere with a view. The balcony looks at the front entrance, while the other side of the building has a beautiful view of crescent lake with some minor fireworks views.
3. We definitely felt like this Club level lounge/area is the most sedate/stuffy of all them that we have stayed at. People seemed more dressed up in general, it was quieter with possibly less children, and just seemed less inviting and comfortable, and more like your grandmothers formal living room. We very rarely sat in the lounge, we took everything to our room. When we stay at the Poly, RPC, or WL we often choose to eat in the lounge, just because we liked the atmosphere. Here not as much. It's likely that it's just a personal thing, but my husband noticed as soon as we checked in and stated that it is his least favorite lounge (we have stayed CL at Poly, CR atrium, GF RPC, and WL). I agreed with him, but not quite as vehemently. I think part of it is that it just goes with the theming of the resort.
4. I thought the food selection was very good. 3 wonderful salads, 2 hot apps, and a plated option for the 5-7, plus veggies, cheese, crackers, apples and caramel, buns and peanut butter with jelly. Breakfast included hard boiled eggs, meet/cheese, grits, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, muffins, pastry, bagels. Snacks were nothing special, but I do like their home made chips, and the kids ate their weight in Swedish fish. I have no idea how anyone can eat more than a few bites of the apps and still eat a TS dinner - I can't. If we are at the lounge for appetizers, we really don't eat dinner and just have a shack somewhere. When I book both dinner is a waste.
5. My DH and both sons have a gluten allergy. They did have options, and a couple of times the regular options were just naturally GF. I thought they did pretty good with the GF options, but it was kind of hit or miss depending on who you asked. They aren't consistent. I would go down in the morning and they would bring me 2 toasted bagels with non contaminated cream cheese and 2 donuts. My DH went down and they gave him 1 un-toasted bagel and he had told them it was for 3 people :confused3 But when I went and spoke with them they did bring more out, so maybe he just didn't communicate with them well. So overall, our feeling with being GF in the lounge is that it was adequate, but they did not go above and beyond like we found they have at the Poly and WL in the past. Passable, but didn't knock our socks off. My DH is looking to be wowed when we stay CL, not have passable service. The chefs did come out and talk with me at each dinner service we were there for, and of the 3 chefs 2 were very good and one not as much. As a summary for being GF in the lounge I thought it was good, but I do not have to eat GF. My DH, who does have to eat GF, thought it was just ok.
6. The lounge CMs were fine. We didn't find any that we thought were amazing, but they were also not rude or surly. They were pleasant.
7. We did get some of the feeling that some people were regulars and the staff would hang around talking to them. We saw a few people get off the elevators to check in and get big hugs from the CMs. In a way I don't mind and think it's nice, but in a way I feel like it makes everyone else feel kind of like second class citizens or the poor redheaded stepchildren.
8. I didn't really mind that they serve the wine, but I also much prefer when they don't. This is our second experience with the staffed bar area, the first was at the CR over Christmas. One girl gave very small wine servings, but for the most part they gave a nice full glass and didn't make me feel weird for getting 2 glasses at a time, or going back for more. The would not put it in a to go cup for us, which we found odd, because we learned to ask for it in a to go cup from the CMs at the WL and Poly. They said they couldn't, but we could just immediately pour it into a to go cup ourselves to take to the pool.
9. There were times when the lounge was fairly busy, but it was never crazy. You might have to wait 1-2 people for an item, or you could just get something else and then go back to it. We really didn't sit in the lounge, but I don't think there was ever a time we could not have gotten a seat at all, and if there was it would have been short lived. There was never anything even close to what we have witnessed at 4:59 PM at the Poly King Kamehameha Club, that was a zoo! :sad2:
10. They didn't run out of food early very often, except for some desserts. There was one dessert that was like a custard with raspberry sauce and a raspberry on it (I can't remember what is actually was called). Regardless, it was delicious and easily the best one there IMO. Clearly I wasn't the only one who thought so, because they were usually our of that well before 10. They did run out of the meat at breakfast, but I didn't go back to make sure they didn't eventually get more out. I also never checked on the hot apps at close to 7:00.
11. I was surprised they didn't mix the desserts up at all for the week. They were always the same. There were probably 8-9 different ones if you count the cookies, but there was no variety. I can't remember them all - 2 kinds of cupcakes, 2 kinds of small cakes, rice crispy treats, a brownie, the raspberry thing, and 3 kinds of cookies I think. At the Poly and the CR there were only 3-4 each night, but they changed them up and they were a little bit better. Unless that has changed in the past 5 months for the CR and 9 months for the Poly.

So my summary: we had an amazing trip, I think one of our better ones. I loved Stormalong bay and was happy with Club Level but not quite as much as the other resorts we have stayed Cl at. I would rank the YC CL as pretty good as far as food choices, with RPC as better and tied with WL and CR, and better than the Poly. However I would rank the lounge as my least favorite, with the RPC and Poly in a pretty close tie because they have different plusses, then the WL, then the CR, then the YC. That doesn't mean I didn't like it, I just personally preferred the other lounge areas more. My DH said the same thing - he commented that he liked it but it was his least favorite. Having said that, I would happily return. Although next time we stay in this area I might risk not getting a full balcony and try the BC just to check another resort and another CL off of my list and because that theme does appeal to me. Hope this helped someone and was at least slightly interesting, I know I can get wordy!

ETA: I forgot about the texting service. I really liked this, I wish they would bring it to all of the club levels. I think they really need more plusses to club level, and this would be small one that they already have started. I did notice that they were not nearly as quick to respond as they were when we stayed at the GF ~1 1/2 yrs ago - when it was brand new. I wonder if they have gotten busier and they can't get to it as quickly, or if they have less people working on it so they take longer? Either way, I found it very convenient. We didn't have to use them for additional FPs since you can do it on the app now, but I did ask a few questions and have them cancel a few ADRs. Also, we all got an additional FP good on anything when they cancelled fantasmic due to rain. For some reason when we rode Toy Story with our regular FPs it took the extra one for both of my sons and we were only left with 2! I texted and they were able to put the extra FPs into our MDE immediately! That in itself made the texting worth it.

I was also happy they gave us the phone number to their desks on the 5th floor. I may be wrong, but at the Poly I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do this. They didn't have texting and to actually call them was like trying to call the White House, you could only call the general IPO or physically go to the desks in Hawaii. I never actually had to call the desk, particularly with the texting service, but I was glad to know I could if I needed to

I wrote a long review of YC CL that was so similar to yours it's amazing...but I can add additional info on comparison of Poly CL. My husband loved YC CL as the food was outstanding. In March we stayed at Poly CL and let me tell you, it is a world of difference than the YC food. He was SOOOO disappointed, but he liked serving himself beer and the other perks of Poly. I can tell you we are going back to Poly CL for July 4th. I booked it on a bounce back but the price difference between the YC and Poly is not comparable. Poly is much more expensive. We did love the room at the Poly...large and in excellent condition. YC was nice but worn. We did have a fantastic view of Epcot Fireworks every night. There are minus and pluses for each resort, but if food is your draw, YC hands down won that contest. Glad you had a nice trip.

Hello CL fans! :) Last September we had a wonderful CL stay at WL, and although we are DVC members, my evil plan worked and DH is gunning for another CL stay! :yay: We have our September trip planned for BWV, but we are hoping to book CL @ BC for December. I am going crazy trying to find an email I received from Disney Destinations in April that contained an offer code. I know it will be a waste to call them without the code, so I guess I will just wait and hope for something soon, perhaps next week when the other room only code ends. Now I am off to re - read reviews on BC CL.

I have a split this summer so I will find out myself.

Was your friend there in the last 2 weeks of May? We were just there and experienced this new twist to the bands.

We will be there for the week checking in on the 2nd....it should be fun...I spoke to the Chef and Staff in March when we were there, they have a nice time planned for 4th with an American "spread" created by Chef! The beach will be available for CL guests.

We're checking in on the 2nd too! There are so many of us from this forum going that I can't keep track of the user names when I see these posts. We usually go to Poly for the week of the 4th and it is indeed a nice little American spread they put out. I've posted pictures in the past, but from memory it's hotdogs (boiled-ugh-not my favorite but I add relish and everything is ok:)), baked beans, chicken wings, a great salad, a very clever fruit mixture red-white-blue.... It's so exciting to sit in the lounge enjoying all this while watching the outside area getting ready for the festivities!

And I agree regarding the CL food offerings -- I wish Poly would up their food, but I guess they realize there are enough other perks with staying at Poly CL that people will keep coming back!
