Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I know most of the lounges have a couple staple snacks or treats that they have out during the day (goldfish, gummy bears, etc.) before the appetizers are available. What does sugarloaf have like that? Thanks!

Right before evening appetizers the there is afternoon "tea"..with scones, trifle, raspberry tarts etc..also a variety of cookies and gummies and goldfish ....

Texting question ....Does anyone know if the texting option is available at the Poly these days...we are planning a summer stay there...and are hoping that they have now added that...TIA :flower3:

thanks for your opinion I also found out that the garden view does not have a day bed only the water view does can anyone confirm thanks!!

Are you speaking of the Beach Club? We are a family of 5, and we have only ever been able to book a standard room in the club level due to those being the ones that have the most daybeds. The garden and pool views mainly have just the two queens (a handful have daybeds), which is why they don't allow families of 5 to book those categories.

We just booked a trip this August for the Poly. I always loved visiting there from the time I was a little girl, but never stayed there. How do you guys like club level there? Thus far our favorite club level has been the CR. We are looking forward to trying the Poly.

It sounds like you're not picky. In that case, I would leave it up to fate and not make any requests. The couple times our requests weren't able to be met we ended up with awesome rooms/locations that we would have never thought to request. I can't imagine a "bad" room in Sugar Loaf.

I agree with dansdad to not make any requests and leave it up to fate. As posted above, SL doesn't have any bad views, IMO, as both marina and courtyard views are very nice :goodvibes.

Feel selfish for saying this, but only 4 sleeps left! Telling DS tomorrow. Looking forward to giving RPC a try!

Not selfish at all. RPC is amazing, I'm sure you'll have a great time! Hope you report back after your trip :).

Not selfish at all! I'm right there with you. Looks like the weather is going to be pretty nice for us. Have a great trip.

Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

As I mentioned, this is our first time staying at AKL. We visited for lunch to check things out during our last visit, and knew we wanted to stay on our next trip! And I definitely won't change my mind about CL! I can't wait to have a cup of morning coffee on my balcony watching the animals! I just can't wait! Thanks again!

AKL is awesome! We've never tried CL so I can't comment on that, but the resort is beautiful with a great pool and great dining options. Hope you will report back after your trip. Have a great time! :wizard:

I can't answer about texting, just wanted to say "hi".

I can't comment on CL as we haven't tried CL at the Poly yet, but the Poly overall is great, IMO. We have loved all the resorts we've stayed at, but the Poly is our favorite. With that said, I have read a lot of great things about CL, with the view from the lounge being one of the best! Hopefully others will chime in from personal experience :goodvibes.

TheFloatingBear- I think I saw that you are going in April. We aren't there again until the end of May. Would you care to report back on the evening offerings and what your kids liked? Also, we like to request a room down the hall a bit so that we are closer to Mara and the pool. It is a little bit of a walk to the lobby, lounge and the bus stop but we don't mind the walk.

My signature probably says it all. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I've done both TPV and GV rooms, love them both. We're not long-term Disney pros but have been fortunate enough to go several times over the last few years. It has become one of our favorite places to go.

WE stayed in GF SL last November. None of the rooms have a view of fireworks (However, outdoor viewing areas are nearby at the boat dock or in front of Gasparilla's Grill Rooms face either the marina and another building across the marina (Sago key, I believe) or the courtyard pool and Big Pine key. We had a closeup and personal look at a tree! It totally blocked our view of anything else. Not exactly stunning, but it wasn't all that bad. We could have moved a couple of days later to a better view, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. All standard views are nice at the GF, but none are amazing, IMO. The rooms and balconies are all pretty much the same except for the dormer rooms which are on the top floor. The balconies are smaller and enclosed on these rooms and the rooms themselves are smaller. However, the rooms are very quaint and the higher ceilings give a feeling of spaciousness. My Mom loves the dormer rooms. I slightly prefer the regular rooms with the more open balcony.
Basically, you can't get a bad room here and the difference between the rooms isn't a matter of much concern, IMO. If you do happen to get a room that you aren't happy with, they will endeavour to move you as soon as something else is available.

The SL lounge is basically the central lobby area on the ground floor of the SL building. There are no windows, but you can look out through the glass doors leading outside if you sit at one of the tables lining the walkway to the exit. I don't think that the area was originally intended to be a CL lounge. The same area is in each of the exterior buildings in the GF with seating areas. The area is small and getting a seat can be problematic at peak times. Food is fine, but not fabulous. You will get a nice continental breakfast. There is afternoon tea with fresh scones and cream that is lovely if you are at the GF in the mid to late afternoon. You can also get afternoon potato chips and cookies. We find the afternoon and evening offerings nice if you happen to be around, but not worth a special trip back to the resort. We occasionally took advantage of a few hors d'oeuvres before heading out to dinner and on some evenings picked up a dessert on our way back to the room for the night. Breakfast was the most convenient of the offerings by far.

The location of the Sugar Loaf building is very convenient. it is centrally located near the courtyard pool, boat dock and main building. Personally, I think that this is the best part of a stay in SL. We LOVED the location! The CM's were nice, but we didn't really have a lot of interaction with them. We did try to change our room upon arrival, but they weren't able to do anything until later in the stay. At that point we were settled and the issue was too small to bother moving.

I probably would stay in SL again if we had a good deal. I might not make the same requests again that I made this time (for an open balcony with a nice view). We did get the open balcony. Whether or nor the back side of a tree is a nice view is debatable, but we weren't impressed. I'm actually not sure that I would stipulate open balcony next time. Perhaps I would rather have a dormer room and be able to see something other than leafy branches. My best recommendation would be to ask for a room with an unobstructed view.

ETA: you can see some room views on the Touring plans website. They don't always seem to be 100% accurate, but it will give you a good idea what to expect. Using their email for requests has never worked for us, but it might be worth a shot. just don't count on it.

Enjoy GF SL!!

Thanks for the review. We have booked a 1 bedroom suite in SL in May 2017. We have stayed at the GF previously, but this will be our first SL stay. I liked the location of the building and the idea of a CL outside of the main building. Thanks for the detailed review. We are taking a small trip next month to WDW for F&G, but I am really looking forward to next summer for the GF!

I haven't been on the boards lately, but just recently booked a stay at BWI for Nov. I'm considering club level, but I have a few questions. How is the alcohol served at BWI Club Level? Do cast members serve beer/wine at a serving cart? Thanks!

It was self serve when we went last year but I think I heard that they now serve it to you . We are leaving in two days with a split stay of the GF RPC and the BWI CL so I will let you know when we arrive at the BWI on the 26 if they self serve or not and what type's of beer and wine are currently being served. Any thing else you want me to look into for you?

Thank you so much! No that's it. We last stayed club level in 2014 when they were first introducing the wine/beer cart at the Yacht Club. We're not big drinkers, but we don't like the idea of our alcohol consumption being monitored and rationed, especially taking the bottle cap off the beer so it has to be drank right away. On our last stay this past June, we just stayed standard and ordered what we needed from Garden Grocer. Thanks again!

Hi Disneytam, I'd love to hear your thoughts on your BWI CL stay when you return. Maybe some highlights of what was served in the lounge, and your thoughts on your experience overall. Thanks very much!:goodvibes

No problem! The Dis has helped me out so much over the years so I will be glad to send back some info on both the GF RPC and the BWI CL lounges.

We stayed Poly CL last summer and we really enjoyed it. Our view was of some grass and trees and the quiet pool before construction started. We were on the third floor and I definitely recommend it. Second floor has no balcony and we just prefer to be off the ground floor. Lounge offerings were very good and we loved that it never closed and you could grab a coffee, hot chocolate or soda any time you wanted. Also the view from the lounge is beautiful. At night during wishes you have a great view to watch and listen as they pipe the music in to the lounge. The pool is steps away from the building so its very convenient to grab something from the lounge during snack times and then go out to the pool. The CMs were very helpful and very friendly. If you already love Poly then club level is just the icing on the cake IMHO. Have a great stay and let us know what you think when you return!

Hi,
We stayed BWI CL over Christmas and loved it so much that we're returning next Christmas. The beer was self serve from the fridge however the wine was served. The CMs were constantly asking if we wanted refills!!

Happy to hear about the beer. Sometimes my husband and I like to have a drink when we get back from the parks and the kids are out cold. Being able to grab one for later and not have it handed to you open is so much better. Do you remember what types of soda they had? I can't have caffeine and sugar often too and sometimes the lounge doesn't have an option for that.

they didn't have texting at the Poly CL when we were there in Jan. Could be available now, of course, but it wasn't at that point.

Cl at the Poly is awesome! We had a TPV room, so we watched Wishes form our balcony on the third floor, but the view from the lounge would be beautiful! We enjoyed the breakfasts and some snacks in the lounge and found the CM's to be very pleasant and accommodating. Hawaii is nicely located with everything you want just a short walk away. The only negative that we found (and it was very minor) is that this was the first time that our request for bottled water to bring to the room was denied. They simply don't seem to have any. Not a real problem - we just purchased a case, but it feels like you shouldn't have to do this at Club Level. It was still a magical experience. Enjoy your stay! I am sure that you will love it!

Yes, we really enjoyed our SL CL stay at the GF. SL is in a great location, so there were definitely some aspects of staying here that we even preferred to RPC. Enjoy your stay! The GF has really nice CL offerings and the rooms are super comfortable. All the views are at least fairly nice and we can attest to the fact that even the tree views aren't all that bad! LOL! Enjoy!

We had the same experience as saintrob on our recent BWI stay...also lots of variety in the wine category..and friendly and attentive CMs...

I just posted this over on the Poly thread. ..lol...as I hadn't seen any responses here..guess I should have checked one more time! Thanks Babsy! :goodvibes wasn't available at the BWI either...but was at the GF...I'm surprised that it's not available at all of the CLs by now...

What a terrific review!! :thumbsup2 Makes me even more excited for our first ever Poly summer stay...we enjoyed a winter trip and truly enjoyed the spectacular view from the lounge in the evenings..but thought..as your post confirms that there is alot more to enjoy in the summer months...
