Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Very excited we're down to 30 days before we're back in Disney!! (37 till we're back at WL CL!) our family is really looking forward to it!!!! Anyone else going November/December?

Have a great time! Disney during the holidays is always fun :santa:.

I just asked this over on the Poly board but I'm looking for some room help. I tried to get an AP rate for three nights at the Poly CL lagoon view and of course no go. All three views of CL show availability but for rack rate only. While talking to the CM they mentioned they did have an AP rate at the Tonga building in the king bed honeymoon room that is $200 less than my CL room. Do I take the Tonga room or stay in the lagoon view CL room? My biggest problem is the walk to the lounge and the fact that it's a suite on the first floor. I know that I could get a ground floor room at the club level long house but I am strongly asking for second or third floor. Any help would be great.

Thank you very much! I honestly cannot tell you how much I love being there for the holidays. It truly is magical and really puts you in the Christmas spirit!!!! :santa:

I am trying to figure out how to do a quick trip to WdW before Soarin closes for refurb 4 Jan.....

Good luck, I hope things work out and you are able to take a quick trip :wizard:.

Not sure what the fares are now, but check SWA (if that's an option for you). We fly out of Chicago Midway and a couple of months ago I saw one way fares as low as $49 & $59.

Some people might say take the savings and stay in the suite, but I would keep what you have as it sounds like you wouldn't be happy in the Tonga building. $200 is a good amount to save, but if being in the same building as the lounge and (possibly) getting a 2nd or 3rd floor room is a priority, I'd stick with what you have booked. Good luck with your decision.

You're welcome! :)

I agree, Disney at Christmas time very magical :wizard:.

Club level with a peanut allergy-are they as good about it as the restaurants are?

We don't have experience with a peanut allergy, but we have stayed CL at RPC GF, WL, and Poly and dealt with gluten allergies. They all handled them differently, and each resort had some things that were great about how they handled it and some things that were just meh. I would have to say the Poly and WL were slightly better than the GF in our visits, they just had better offerings for us (not to say the GF did't have anything. They just didn't go above and beyond like the Poly does at breakfast and appetizers, and the WL did for "appetizers". I will also say that we noticed the IPO wasn't very helpful prior to our arrival, but once we got there and talked to the CMs/chefs in the lounges we had a much better experience. Email the IPO with your needs and questions ahead of time, and make sure they notify the chefs that you will be coming, your allergies, and dates. Then, on your first day, go to the lounge and talk to the CMs there who will then either get a chef for you or tell you when the chef will be on site so you can come back and talk to him/her then. At the Poly we always had to talk to chef Eugene between like 4:30-7,and in the AM we talked to the chef through private dining on the phone, At the GF I think the chef did talk to us at breakfast, and at the WL I can't remember if we talked to the chef or just went through the CL CMs. Every resort is different.

Having said that, that was just how they handled it with us. I also realize a peanut allergy has much more serious consequences than a gluten allergy generally, but I thought our experiences might at least help you know how an allergy in general was handled. In general we thought CLs were good with our allergy, but not as good as the TS restaurants. It's just easier at the TS locations, and they have a more standard way of handling it. If you want any more specific info on how those CLs handled allergies, feel free to send me a PM. Again, gluten not peanut for us.

aackk! we leave in four days and I can hardly wait. Quick question regarding evening ADRs when staying CL.

I was able too snag an ADR for Kona (our first night at the poly) at 6:45. That said, I know there are evening appetizers. This morning I was able to grab another reservation for 8:15. Which do you think would be better? We will be getting up early that morning and arriving at the resort at about noon and then heading to Downtown Disney. I suspect we will eat at WP or something similar. With that and the evening reservations should we go with the later ADR? My DH thinks the opposite...thinks we will be tired from traveling and will want to eat early. Any advice would be appreciate so I can cancel the other ADR asap.

I think 6:45 is fine, however, when I go to the evening lounge hours, I never eat a full dinner. I make minimal evening ADRS because we are just not hungry enough for a full meal after food and drinks in the lounge. We'll grab a snack if we are hungry later.

We decided to keep the original 6:45 ADR. It's going to be a very early morning for us so I think we will be pretty tired come that evening. That's part of the reason I booked Kona...so we could just walk over and not have to deal with the logistics of going to dinner elsewhere. I am kind of counting on what you mentioned about not eating a full meal after appetizers at CL. I can see a few of us splitting a dinner or eating something very light instead.

aack...We leave for the airport in less than 36 hours!

We had only positive experiences with this issue. We have stayed club level at BC, YC, AKL, and WL and they all supplied breakfasts, apps, snacks and special desserts for my son who is severely allergic to peanuts. Make sure you let them know ahead of time and tell them again when they give you the lounge tour upon arrival.

I have some of the chefs station that I took this past weekend but I cant get them to post. Erika can you PM me your email address and I'll just email them to you?

NicoleLarson- Can you tell me about the evening food offerings for kids? We stayed last May and they were no longer doing offerings for kids. We are going back this coming May and trying to figure out if they have added back any kid friendly evening snacks. They only thing they had last May was apples.

I think you made a good choice, especially with it being your arrival day and having an early morning start. Have a great trip! :wizard:

They had cheese and crackers. Veggies and dip and the apples. The kids buffet is still MIA, which we do miss but I do understand why they took it away. Since it was out of the way it wasn't "patrolled" at all and unfortunately too many parents let their kids take whatever, whenever. I saw several times when a child would grab something and put it back.

Thanks for all the peanut allergy replies. Now I have to figure out if it's worth the money.

Just got back from 5 amazing days at the BWI CL - we were in room 4271 and had a great view of the boardwalk and the lake. We were just down the hall from the elevators and the host desk, a little further on to the lounge - amazing location. Housekeeping was fantastic, always leaving us taffy at night and turning down the beds, lots of extra shower gel etc and fresh towels. I had a birthday card, balloons and box of chocolate waiting for our arrival.

We checked in at 930 am but the room wasnt ready, had a text at 3pm that it was, this was fine since we were at Epcot all day.

The staff was outstanding, went above and beyond with service, remember our names and such - our favorite stay CL so far. I had made purchases and had them shipped back to the room but instead of going to the Screen Door to pick them up the CL delivered them to our room!

99% of the guests in the lounge were older people, they seemed to hang out all day - we only saw children twice and it was for a few minutes, it was so relaxing watching the Epcot fireworks from the lounge instead of the crowded park.

There was an incident where I had to go to the Celebration hospital at 5am and the staff was able to get us a taxi voucher so I didnt have to pay for the ride. (Thought I broke my wrist, it was a calcium deposit that "broke free" and tore the ligaments/tendons in my wrist. I was back in the room by 830)

Breakfast offerings were cheese and sliced ham, salami etc, plain and cinnamon raisin bagels, danish, croissants, hard boiled eggs, muffins and croissants, oatmeal with all the fixings, juice, white and chocolate milk, apple juice and sodas, melon berries etc as well as bananas, apples oranges, coffee cake, cereal, coffee and teas and the best Nespresso cappuccino machine that I want to buy for my house! Same items every single day, they had all the jellys, peanut butter, cream cheese, butter etc for you to use as well as flavored syrups for coffees and teas, honey lemon etc

Afternoon snacks were lame, do it your self trail mix, gummy fish, chocolate chip and sprinkle cookies, house made chips with hummus and dips, peanut butter jelly rolls - same snacks every day

We only made it to the dinner offerings twice. The first time was tomato soup with mini grilled cheese sandwiches, veggies, meats and cheeses, peanut butter roll ups, breads, hummus. The second time was amazing, cream of potato soup with chopped chives and bacon to add (real bacon!) cous cous, veggies, meats and cheeses, foccaccia, rolls, chicken nuggets, pork belly sliders, peanut butter roll ups. We canceled a dinner and just ate in the lounge it was sooo good! The CL host was able to cancel 2 of our reservations for us without penalty as they had other guests that wanted the same reservations - win win

Dessert at night was not bad - the same cookies again, chocolate and vanilla cream puffs, chips and dip, key lime tarts, cinnamon coffee cake, fruit tarts, mini smore tarts, mickey mouse ear bon bons, brownies etc

I just cannot tell you how friendly and fun the staff is - they really made our stay alot of fun Next time I book the BWI it will def be CL!

Do you think it is worth upgrading from art of animation cars suite to wl deluxe room with club level? The price difference is $3000 for a week. The deluxe room had two queens, a living room with a queen pullout and a wet bar with microwave, fridge and coffee maker. We are dvc and I'm a bit leery of staying in a value.
