Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

We're staying CL at AKL this December! Anyone have a favorite room or section? Would love to hear some first hand experiences about your views and walk times to the lobby and lounge!

You will find varying opinions on transportation, but we've never had a problem with transportation at the WL. You have the boat to MK, which we love as it's a nice relaxing ride. There's also a bus that goes direct with no stops. The buses to the other parks (in our experiences) have always been efficient with no long waits/rides. I can't speak for CL/noise at the Poly as we haven't stayed CL there yet, but CL at the WL is amazing. If it were me, I'd go with WL CL deluxe room or Poly CL over staying GF SL again (just my opinion). Good luck and happy planning :wizard:.

@mickeynut1 , THANK YOU for your input! We're also throwing GF RPC into the mix, too... Maybe a split stay? All of this amazing advice is making for a difficult decision!

Hello,
I have a quick question.
First time CL, also first time Epcot area resort. (we've only stayed at Poly and CR deluxe, CBR and POFQ mods)
DD and I are staying at BC Club level for her birthday in March.
Is there any particular room area we should request? We would like to have a balcony that you can sit in, not just stand.
Any and all information would be appreciated!!!
Can you watch IllumiNations from your balcony? What about Star Wars FWs?
Sooooo excited!
TIA

We stayed CL poly last yr. It wasn't noisy at all. The ttc is a bit of a walk from the Hawaii building. We didn't hear any noise from it. Our room faced the quiet pool. There were a lot of people in the pool and resort. We didn't go to THE except for the store or ohanas, so no problem there. There were a few people hanging out on the beach waiting for the dinner show but not enough to make any difference. We found the poly quit peaceful actually.

I second this. Our favorite thing about the Poly CL is how peaceful it is. We like to stay Garden View facing the Oasis pool since it's so relaxing sitting out on the patio at night looking at the pool and palm trees (love first floor, but third floor would be equally nice). The lounge does get a little busy in the morning for breakfast and during the fireworks, but we've always been able to find somewhere to sit (more chaotic than BWI CL, for example, but it was also a lot kid-friendlier). 'Ohana was not our favorite for a variety of reasons, and was a bit noisy, but I don't remember thinking it was worse than a lot of other WDW restaurants in that regard. You really can't go wrong with Poly CL!!

Just no. If that happened to me I would ask for food vouchers, a price adjustment, or something. That's nervy charging $700 a night and running out of yogurt and donuts. I would be like, 'really?'

They were out of oatmeal and yogurt and at that point they weren't serving any eggs. Even out of packets of oatmeal and this was around 9:45am. We were given their last packet for our family of 6. All that was there was donuts and bread/bagels. It was during the construction and they were definitely understaffed. We knew the Poly was better than that so went back the next trip after the construction was done and it was much better.

I can't help with room suggestions, but wanted to say I hope you have a great time. We haven't tried CL at AKL but have stayed at AKL during the holidays and it is beautiful! Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

You're welcome :)

GF RPC is amazing! I know WL CL is one you're also considering and while I do love WL CL, RPC is my fav (although WL CL does run a close second ;)). You really can't go wrong with RPC, WL CL or Poly CL, but if RPC is doable, I would definitely try it. When we stay CL, I like spending time in the lounge just relaxing and RPC (to me) is very peaceful with beautiful views of the grounds :cloud9:.

Sounds very peaceful :goodvibes.

We're staying first time club level at Beach Club this November in a water view room. We've already stayed club level at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht Club and Boardwalk Inn. We've enjoyed them all but our favorite so far has been Boardwalk Inn. We hope to love Beach Club.

How was your experience at AKL? We're staying club level there in December!

We really liked it. We were there in November 2014. The food offerings were delicious. As we are big fans of Boma, Jiko and Sanaa, it was nice that some of the selections had that African/Indian flair. The club itself is pretty and it's fun to overlook that magnificent lobby but we missed the option of going outside on a balcony to relax. The only thing we didn't care for was the view from our room. We've had better views from a non-club savannah rooms. Our club level room was in a corner so the balcony actually sat above the observation area outsde the main lobby. We could see animals in the distance if we looked to the far left, but underneath us were guests walking about looking at the animals to our left. I believe the view was described as standard club level, so it was what it was, but still disappointing to us none the less. However, there are several areas along the hotel hallways (besides the main lobby viewing area) where there are outside decks with chairs to observe the wildlife. My boyfriend and I would definitely go back but with a savannah club level view, if possible.

I've heard great things about the food, so I'm very excited to try some of the offerings!
Do you remember what trail you were on and how many buildings down from the lobby? Ive been trying to figure out what kind of room requests I would like to make.

Kudu Trail. First group of rooms off the main lobby on the same floor as the club lounge. As I mentioned, the room's balcony overlooked the guest animal viewing area so you couldn't see much wildlife up close. We would choose next time a club level room further out on the trail. The food was VERY tasty!

Also, if they are offering the sunrise safari at Animal Kingdom....please take it. It was wonderful. Saw more animals than ever before at 7 am and it was followed by a delicious breakfast at Pizzafari. (Not sure if that place still exists with the opening of Pandora and Tiffins.)

Just came back from a CL stay July 18-22. I wrote a pretty lengthy review a few pages back. As far as room. Cash CL rooms are all on 4th floor if understand correctly. We put in a request for Bunk Beds (that was important to kids), Close to Lobby and Kudu Trail. We were in room4419. Got all of our requests. Room was not too far down the hall, Kudu trail is on the side of the pool/mara so that was good. We've stayed at Kidani at the end of the building, so this walk was much appreciated! No complaints there :) View was good! Arusha rock was just a little to the left. Giraffe's out by the rock all day. Mostly cattle, deer type things and some birds, but in the evenings a few zebras would come out. I suspect they had moved them there or fed them there as it was just in the evenings and every evening we were in the room.

Thank you! I will go searching for your post!
Your room sounds like it was in a great spot! How long did it take you to walk to the club lounge and to transportation from your room?

Sunrise safari is no longer, I think it was discontinued in 2015??? They still offer two other safaris but they stay at AKL.

Hmmm...we didn't time anything. CL is on the 6th floor, so depending on where you're at you'll have to walk the length of the hallway to the elevator then up to #6. Just depends on how long you wait for elevator, etc... I would say just a few minutes. It wasn't too long, but would have been nice to be on the same floors like some other CLs are in other resorts. To the buses, it's going to take a bit. It's a big resort and the bus stop is a good ways past the entrance/lobby. I would say 7-10minutes. I don't know though, I'm a bad time estimator.

It was wonderful, wasn't it? I was only suggesting it to the PP in case it were being offered again. We were under the impression (this was 3 years ago) when we took the tour that it was being "temporarily" suspended due to Pandora construction. But knowing Disney as we do, it's probably gone for good. Thanks for the input!:)

We've stayed CL at AKL a few times. IMHO the views get better as you go further away from the lobby/lounge area. We prefer to be about 1/2 way down the trail as a compromise. And if you don't have a wheelchair/stroller you can take the stairs up to the lounge instead of the elevator (but the AKL elevators are pretty quick). We love the lounge and how it overlooks the beautiful lobby, and think the food offerings are great.

Thank you! That confirms what I was thinking.
