Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I saw an old picture of a gluten free donut from someone staying BC CL but I have no idea if they got it from the CL or on their own elsewhere. Has anyone gotten a GF donut at CL breakfast? (Or maybe it came from the GF bakery in Disney Springs?)

FWIW, We have never noticed donuts in any of the lounges, but we weren't looking for them either.

Perhaps donuts used to be part of the offerings long ago, but are no longer?

I have seen GF options brought out in separate, pre-prepared plates from the back for folks who I assume have arranged special dietary alternatives in advance. Presumably these are prepared by a chef/kitchen somewhere on property with access to GF items. I have not seen GF options out in the lounge for everyone, if that's what you're asking. Hope that helps!

ETA - I should probably caveat that I have not looked for GF options so it's possible I have just never noticed!

Yes, they brought me out GF donuts at the Poly CL.
I was chatting with the chef about what was gf one evening and he said would you like a donut? I said yes since it's one of those food items I don't see a lot of when you are GF.
He brought be 2 cinnamon and 2 glazed! My family is used to eating gf with me so we all enjoyed them!

I have come across the brand before in the market. It's a long name.

I'm sitting here wavering on my commitment to CL at the Poly this summer. I just keep thinking that it's $2k more than the standard room for our 9 nights, and even though we can afford it, it might not be the best way to spend the money. Ugh. Someone talk me in or out of it!!! LOL

Any chance the summer discounts that will be out soon could lessen the pain? Yeah, 9 nights CL starts to get a little pricey, no doubt! Have you thought about splitting with another resort/CL that's not as expensive as Poly CL?

When I start thinking rationally like that, I look at my photos and drift off to this beautiful setting, think about the peaceful calm of the lounge first thing in the morning, the wonderful view, the great times we've had here...

Sorry, I'm a total enabler.

LOL, You are not helping!!!

No, this is already with a heavy discount. It's $491/night (including taxes). :crazy2:

I would get bored with the offerings and schedule. It is easier to just use that money and buy food and drinks that work for you. Room service would be fun too.

It might be nice to either start or end the trip with 2 or 3 days cl?

Right. I'm thinking we could just bring snacks/drinks with us and we have TON of ADR's this time around, so I'm not even sure we'll get to use the lounge as often as we'd like to make it worth it.

Yep enabler here. We have 9 nights reserved at Poly CL for May of next year. I can't even think about a split stay...moving the 10 people in our group including 3 preschoolers and a baby. I won't get tired of the ease of continental breakfast and evening apps and wine. Of course we could eat at fancy restaurants every night for the less than the price of CL! But this trip is about 3 generations keeping it simple and hanging out together. I think we will appreciate the lounge.

I am thinking of booking CL at the Poly. I have an amazing rate through a TA and the CL for 7 nights is $1,113 more than no club level. Which is $2k less than the Disney CL rack rate.

Trying to decide for the 4 of us if it is worth it. (me my niece 28, my twin girls 15). I have stayed CL main building in GF and CL CR tower in the past.

Is the CL building a more desirable building/view than what I would get with a standard garden view room at the Poly?

Do the white wine offerings include a Pinot Grigio or a Sauv. Blanc?

Do they have bottles of water that we can take with us?

Can we get get a glass of wine or a beer during the day?

What is the CL experience like at the Poly? Compared to CR or GF?

Thanks for your input!

Considering the ages of your kids I would want the extra space. Coming from a family of 5 the extra space CL provides can be a lifesaver! So, when you're considering if it's "the best way to spend the money" also take that into consideration.

Since you can afford it, is there something else you'd like to do on vacation with that money? Tours? If so you could make a list of the other things you could do on your trip with the 2K and see if the food and space of CL still appeal to you. Personally, the best use of my vacation money is whatever makes vacation most relaxing (to the extent my vacation budget can afford it!). Concierges to assist instead of a front desk to fight, easy breakfast, relaxing appetizers and space to get away from the hotel room without being in the hustle and bustle of the parks is what makes CL worth it to me. (Even though there are a million other things in life that I could do with the extra money CL costs!)

We really have enjoyed CL when we have done it (at WL, BC and YC) but the space isn't that big of a deal to us. We are the same family who has 3 couches in our living room, yet somehow all 5 of us end up on one...:crowded: We enjoy being close to each other, LOL.

I'm actually thinking that the $2k would go to next years' trip. We go annually and chopping $2k off of that trip right off the bat would be fantastic! Or we'd buy our annual passes for next year and 2019 since we are planning on doing that again.

OHMYGOSH that picture is beautiful! I SO want to add on a couple days Poly CL now to my fall trip but F&W is the point of the trip and you can't beat BC for that... But darned if Disney shouldn't pay you a ridiculous amount of money to feature that photo to upsell people to Poly CL!

I'll likely end up keeping CL. I mentioned it to DH and he's already stomping his feet. ODD wants her dang cookies. Oh well, next time!!

We are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary after all...

Our rate is only slightly higher than what we paid for our GF standard room last year, so I can't complain.

You poor thing!

We did 10 days there this past January and it was an amazing trip. We did break it up at the mid way point and spent a night at Royal Pacific and 2 days at Universal.
For my family, it is all about the convenience since we spend most of our time at MK and Epcot. We also love the atmosphere.

Also, we loved grabbing breakfast in the lounge and going. We are a RD family so it was so easy!

But our CL rate (garden view) was cheaper than my original room which was a TPV. I do not like the buildings for the TPV and knowing beforehand that we were in the Hawaii building- saved my anxiety of not knowing where we would end up :)
