Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

But with unlimited water and a large area/space between water spigot for all but the largest of bottles, this seems more appropriate for personal bottles to me. Or is that still a no-no when it comes to hygiene? What says the group?
I think that water machine in the picture is perfect and they should install them at all the lounges. I always bring a refillable bottle and usually have to fill it at the counter service location at each resort. I don't like bottled water because of the taste and the waste. If Disney's goal is to generate less plastic waste then they need to install many more water stations than they have now. :)

On the topic of water - we generally will buy 1 or 2 bottles after going through security at the airport on our way to Orlando, then carry one when going to the parks, refilling it when necessary, either from water fountains, or from paper cups that we get from some of quick service places we might eat at.

As for set ups in the lounges like the one pictured, we always fill a new cup or glass first, then refill the bottle from that, unless there is enough space to fill it without the bottle touching the spout.

Freezing up here in Maine and dreaming of my May trip stay at AKL CL!!!! Does anyone have any current pictures of CL offerings at AKL? I have seen postings of when AKL CL just opened, but nothing more recently!

This is the 1st time I have booked CL (though I was upgraded to YC CL a few years ago). This is a big splurge for me as this most likely will be a solo trip! Normally I do 2-3 trips a year and have an AP...but this will be my only one this year! I normally take my mother with me, and have her on my reservation but unfortunately she's battling a very rare cancer and blood disorder and won't be able to go! I keep her on all of my reservations though because she likes to see the planning and feel that she was included in the plans!

I've been to Disney several times as you can see by signature and have stayed at AKL several times! I debated between AKL CL and GDT CL for my 1st official CL stay! I went with AKL because I find staying here is like having 2 vacations at the same time. You get the craziness of the Parks and then the peacefulness and the feeling of staying on an African Safari at AKL! It also helped that I was able to get 25% off with the AP Discount!

Anyways, if anyone has some current pics of AKL CL offerings I'd love to see them! In particular evening offerings! I've seen the butter chicken .... but surely that can't be offered every night! Thanks!

Any recommendations for room requests for WL Std CL? Right now my only request is two queens and idk if anything else should be requested.

OT, but since I can't get the music out of my head as the movie plays daily in my household at an ever increasing volume level... Disney needs to quickly put together an Encanto fireworks spectacular for DHS this summer like they did with Frozen many years ago. Run it May-Sept and make that the big summer DHS splash. Presumably F! will be back at some point too so DHS can regain some of its evening glory. And throw in all the merchandise possible. C'mon Disney, it's a no brainer.

Having Frozen craze flashbacks over here.
I hope Disney feels the pressure like a drip, drip, drip that'll never stop to make this happen....'cause seriously, my kids right now -_-

So speaking of water... what's the consensus here on machines like this one at CR when it comes to filling up personal bottles? Appropriate? Not appropriate?

I know this topic has come up in the past, although that discussion has generally been regarding the CLs that just have the containers that need to be refilled by a CM and have spigots that are low. I know I've cringed in the past at Poly when people would fill up their personal bottles/cups and it was almost impossible to not touch the spigot, not to mention they'd clear out 75% of the container all at once.

But with unlimited water and a large area/space between water spigot for all but the largest of bottles, this seems more appropriate for personal bottles to me. Or is that still a no-no when it comes to hygiene? What says the group?

Fill yourself as you wish is my opinion, unless they say do not

June will be our first trip without Magical Express and also our first time doing a Split Stay thanks to our Galactic Starcrusier voyage. I have CL stays booked on both sides of that voyage, but looking for some advice on transportation options while there. I have already decided on a Town Car of some sort to get from MCO to our first resort (BWI) and from our last resort (AKL) back to MCO, but not sure of our best options to get to the Galactic Starcruiser from BWI and from Galactic Starcruiser to AKL. My husband is adamant that he does not want to drive while we are there, but he may relent to a rental car if we do a day trip to Kennedy Space Center while there. Not a fan of having pay to park at the resorts now, so rental car is not the most attractive option. I've not ever done Uber or Lyft, but I'm perfectly willing to use taxis if those are even still an option within WDW. Just prefer to plan ahead if I can. Happy for any advice you can offer as I know many of you have done split stays with no problems.

There are still taxis around. I always use Uber myself. Never used it anywhere but use it at Disney often and it's so easy and I've always been happy with it. We use it on property and to go from Universal to Disney, plus airport. We used Uber well before ME went away. I found ME too slow, both coming and going. With PreCheck we don't need 3 hours at the airport

The FAQ for the Starcruiser states that transportation to/from the hotel will be provided if you are staying at a WDW resort before or after your stay.

How far in advance do you receive your email from concierge about dining reservations?

I used Tony Hinds to get from wdw to Universal and then to the airport. I have used him prior to get to the airport instead of MDE. Very happy with them and will use in the future as well.

Good to know. Last time we stayed CL in '09 they sent emails asking for what we wanted. Do we have to do our own now?
Yes, they have said that you have to do your own. Besides that, it's much smarter to do your own. Left to them, they won't even start to work on them till several hours after the booking windows open. Add on top of that they can't make spur of the moment decisions on if a specific time works for you or not, you stand to miss out on most all your requests vs. doing it yourself.
