Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Have fun at UO! PBR is really confusing, IMO so if you need any help let me know.

Hi. I'm currently sitting in the piazza central enjoying my coffee. It's 830 and no one is up. We got a room as soon as we got here. She offered us that room telling us it was the end of the hall or waiting until around 4 for a closer room. We opted for the end of hall and omg, it is SO far. We are in the villa wing and we are literally the last room. .3 miles to the lounge according to my fitness tracker!. I can get to the lounge by crossing the piazza and can do the boat and pool. Anything else I need to know? It's beautiful here. We got off the boat last night and some was singing in the square. So lovely. My family napped after breakfast in the lounge so I went to the pool for a drink. The bartender grew up a half mile from where I live now lol. She was shocked that was what I was offered room wise. She said it's so quiet. The park was empty and we stayed until dinner at Margaritaville. One and done for us here. We always go when in the Bahamas and it's so relaxing and nice. Here it was loud and gimmicky. We made breakfast and dessert. Breakfast was bacon/egg/cheese, pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit, potatoes. Very nice breakfast. Today seems the same but sausage or ham instead of bacon. Going to make the long trek back to the room now and wake them up. Makes YC seem close fwiw, I ended up liking that location.

Oh wow, you are further than we were. Our room was overlooking the beach pool, right on the corner across from the elevators. If you take those elevators that go to the pools, cut through the villa pool, up the stairs, the central piazza will be on your right. We tried a million different ways and we thought that was the best. To the boats, if you take those same elevators to floor 2, there's a door on the right down the hall just a bit. Go straight (it looks like a dead end but it's not), you'll go down the stairs (between the west wing and and the boats will be right there. I'm attaching a screen shot so maybe that will make more sense. Purple to CL and green to boats.

Thanks. I will try that. The elevator to the pool is like the half way mark to the lobby elevator. We're tired by the time we get to it if you pass that elevator and go to the end of the hall that's us. I literally didn't go down last night for coffee because it was too far.

This is always my complaint about the hotels at Universal, they're just so massive. I always make a joke about being a mile away from everything at Disney resorts, then I go to a Universal resort and I'm like "OMG......I need a water break". They're gorgeous, but much like Swan and Dolphin I get lost and tired.

What were the red/white wine selections at the AKL-CL last night with appetizers?

They were the exact same as before! Two African selections of whites plus the Jam Jar sweet white, and three varieties of Red from Africa. The beers looked to be the same selection as before as well but I didn’t look closely at those.

The Sparkling is the same South African one as well .

I’m really torn. For our Thanksgiving trip with two small children I have poly and WL booked. I really wanted CL in both of those, but they aren’t open yet. Seeing these reports at AKL CL has me really tempted to switch over at least part of our trip here. The convenience of breakfast and dinners plus easily accessible beverages is super tempting. But we LOVE the poly, and WL is just so Christmasy.

CL hotel rooms are on the 4th floor. The 5th floor is DVC AKV-Jambo House (not CL). The handful of rooms on the 6th floor are DVC CL rooms (the only DVC CL rooms of any resort).

The end of each hallway on the fifth floor are DVC three bedroom Grand villas. This large image will help you immensely. Anything shaded in is DVC, the rest are hotel rooms including suites.

It’s been quite awhile since we’ve stayed there.
Does anyone else remember when they brought the best of GFs RPC CMs to be at the AKL CL?
DH and I were there for inaugural opening and the next 10+ years.
This CL, at that time rated as one of the best on property.

Any chance they adjust club level opening dates? Staying at Wilderness Lodge until 12/11 and based on the current dates will miss the lounge by 5 days! Have dates been changed elsewhere?

I’d WL/AKL CL. Coming out in the morning to the tree at WL is pure Christmas magic. But be nice to yourselves and enjoy some easy planning days with AKL. Kids should still like it as they’ll get a chance to see animals and it will be a total change of pace from MK Area resort.

With reports of folks bailing on bookings left and right a month out from trips right now I would not expect Disney to accelerate any reopenings, including for the CLs.

No, Lorenzo has always been at the Boardwalk. I was texting with him earlier this morning telling him he had better be there only temporarily! I have known him since his days as head of bell services at Disney Institute. He has been with the company over 30 years. He is quite close to lots of Disney elite also. Lorenzo is, in my eyes, what Disney is all about! He is engaging and wants to make every guest’s experience as magical as can be. The guest’s experience is his main priority.
