Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I have a dilemma...I have GF GV booked for the three days before our RPC stay...well I checked this morning and the 1st three days in RPC are now available with a discount... do I switch to RPC or save money and keep GV? I know this is the wrong place to ask that question. :rotfl2: I want to do it, but I'm paying a ridiculous rack rate for RPC for three nights...hmm maybe I shouldn't add it all up but just look at each one separately...Ya know, Disney math :D

I see no dilemma here.

Fast forward to being there. You’ll be sitting in your GV room….probably looking at a bush or tree, maybe the grounds if lucky…counting how many days you have left until you move… asking yourself why you didn’t just book RPC when you had the chance.

Or at least that’s how my mind works. 😇

Yah know - very true! It's one of the reasons I've actually fallen in love with this sub-group. I don't feel like someone is shaming me for spending the amount of money I do at Disney and no one is constantly complaining about how much everything costs ;P

Oh we will complain about the costs. But still mostly pay them anyway. 😎

But I agree - this thread is why I started coming around the DIS, and has always been a rather friendly spot with good people. 👍

This thread is the best! It's my favorite thread and has the best people. You guys have helped with all my stays, even my upcoming UO. I'm not afraid it ask questions here either, other ones tell you to use the search feature🙄

I think GADisneyDad is right, you will be waiting to move and kicking yourself if you don't switch now.

I would look at the total cost. We are doing 3 nights reg BWI and 3 nights CR CL. I am already over what I want to pay so I'm not upgrading anything. Plus my family wants to eat at certain places and I think CL is a waste when we have those plans. Instead of paying extgra $200/night for CL we will use that money for dinners.

I understand that, but we spend way less money on food when we stay CL, I'm not a big eater so we don't book a lot of meals. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary that we had to cancel last year, that's why I am willing to pay rack for 3 of those nights not available with a discount.

You are absolutely right, I would be looking over there and counting the time until I could check in. My mind works that way too. :D

I agree, this is the best thread on the Dis. I don't post a lot but most of my posts are on this thread. You are right I would be kicking myself for not booking it.

Thanks everyone, I knew you would all understand. we are a bunch of enablers. :rolleyes1 I did it.:dogdance: I took it as a sign that I should do it when I saw the room available this morning. As long as I don't look at the total cost it doesn't seem so bad. :D I booked the GV room before CL opening was announced, and I know I wouldn't be happy there if a CL room was available.

:D

My husband & I were up at 4:35am CST this morning to make ADRs for out Oct trip. Everyday I lose a little more hope that maybe the Tonga CL access will be available - but I'll still have some sliver of hope until I hear an actual Poly CL reopening date. I still have the GF RPC reservation and that'll what I'll stick with come final payment time if there's no definitive confirmation of CL type amenities at Tonga. For us, CL trumps the suite if I can only get 1 or the other - I might feel differently if they were priced the same, but the 1BR is 2k more than RPC for the 6 night stay.

We made a lot of ADRs... and a lot of new places we've never been either because this is our first real trip as parents vs DINKs. I am so not into buffets, but as a mom of 2... I will get down on family style ALL DAY because it makes my life easier. CRT was the only thing I really wanted but didn't get - so I'll keep the lookout for that. I wanted an 'Ohana dinner, but got a brunch before we fly home, which will probably be better for us anyway.

Lunches: Coral Reef, Tusker House, Mama Melrose's
Dinners: San Angel Inn, Citricos, Chef Mickeys, and BOG
Brunch before flight home: 'Ohana

So, I want to ask here since many of the other threads are a tad, shall we say *snippy* (and we did discuss this here earlier). BUT do you guys think they will release any tickets for the "sold out" Boo Bash dates? I waited a day too late to buy a ticket (for Aug 24th party) and I just need one 😅 (And, in all honesty, if I get one, I'll probably sub it for going to MK earlier in my trip)

I saw on Disney Food Blog they ended up offering a few tickets last night at Guest Services, I'm guessing for all the cancelled trips.... or maybe they decided to increase capacity a tad?

I think you'll only get one if you're at the park the day-of the party selling them for walk ups for those canceled tickets. So hard to plan around.
One of the blogs literally posted a picture of the 'sold out party' sign during the middle of the day. But by the time the party started, they put out the 'we have tickets' sign.

That's what I was afraid of - but am still wondering about them upping capacity a bit and selling more? Because I would much rather plan for it if I could (especially since 9 PM is usually my bedtime 😅 )

It was interesting that tickets were available for a bit yesterday. I’m sure the shuffling of plans given current circumstances is a decent slice of folks.

I’d hit up guest services on your first day, plead your case, and see what they can do. If they can’t do anything, then try same day like what happened yesterday.

Disney is in money making mode (my opinion) - show up enough times ready to spend, maybe something will work out for you. :-)

I think they definitely will. It may be hit or miss and I think it will be in park only. I would check with guest services daily when you go. August 24th is my party night. I hope you get one. I do see people canceling them just don't know how many people and when. Maybe ask on a chat from MDE.

They definitely have my number - and my credit card :rotfl2:

Seriously, they HAVE been in money making mode based on all the trips I've done post Covid (This will be my 6th trip) so I will stay hopeful, keep stalking the Boo Bash ticket page, and like both you (@GADisneyDad14 and @jods said, check when I get there with guest services.

I arrive late on the 21st so I have a couple of days to keep trying.

I am usually a MORNING, Rope Drop person, but I am challenging myself on this trip to not rope drop every single day...especially since I'm there for 2 weeks. And going to an After Hours Event would definitely encourage me to rest a bit the day of...and the day after, I have a 9:30 breakfast at Topolinos....

I have Topolinos the day after too! But 11 or 1130😆 my kids like sleeping.

This should make you feel better. It’s from the BooBash thread. (Reports were tickets were “sold out” according to the park signs until a couple hours before park close when they changed the signs so if you get denied early on, I’d check by later.)

DSS called yesterday for our 9/30 CR stay. Just said call us if you need to book any reservations. Nothing interesting.

👋👋I'll be excited women with 2 tired and cranky teenage boys. Hubby is planning a golf day.

I'll look for you for sure! I'll be the single lady with some sort of blingy mask chain and Minnie Ears 😅

That's kind of what I was hoping for - would just love it if they could get them loaded for purchase before.

I think I'm going to be optimistic and bring my costume (a Minnie bound) in case.
