Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

it is alive and well, I totally forgot to post that a few days ago. Sugarloaf blows RPC out of the water in every aspect. Mind you I'm kind of getting some VIP treatment but my kids are having a blast and the CMs are literally "wish is my command" it's incredible here. And the decorations are simply amazing!!
I'm glad to hear that the GF is redeeming themselves. I hope you have a great time. The gingerbread house is amazing. :)

Well, we're here with good news & bad news. The bad news is the standard King club level room we booked wasn't available. The good news, we got upgraded to a 2 Bedroom suite. I was really looking forward to the MK view from the standard King room. But, I can deal with this. Guess I'll just have to get my fill of the MK view from he lounge!! :goodvibes

Congrats on the upgrade! Enjoy :wizard:.

We renewed our Annual Passes last month via the Disney website. We received a receipt but there wasn't any kind of instructions or voucher that said we had to get the AP's activated at a ticket window before using them. We received that voucher last year at renewal time, but not this time. Did they do away with the vouchers? Do you still have to go to a ticket window or guest relations booth to activate the AP's? Has anyone done this lately? I would assume we would need to do this in order to get the AP hard ticket, but I wanted to make sure first.

Thanks.

We renewed ours about the same time, and didn't get anything but I was able to pick out a new AP MagicBand and I know now that I have that its is activated on all of the other 10 or so magicbands I have

oh and by the way i will have to bug our CM who made the reservation if she got that email for the beach club on tuesday. I am guessing if the YC is doing the BC has to be as well

We have our AP band, too. Are you going to go to Guest Relations to get the hard AP card?

Although the two resorts are connected, they don't always do the same things at the same time. I hope all of the club levels are going to participate in the texting service. It's only fair. ;)

Planning our first Club Level stay at Beach Club for Christmas holiday. I have a food allergy - gluten. Normally, I can find things to eat anywhere on property, but I am wondering if the Club Lounge will be worth the extra money for me. Will I just be watching my family eat there and looking for food in my suitcase?

Anyone else have a food allergy and were they able to accommodate it at the concierge club lounge? Do you talk to someone ahead of time from home to see if they can help? I really need to decide quickly to stay club level or put the money elsewhere.

Please help. Thank you very much!

My brother in law has Celiac disease (absolutely no gluten), so I have talked to chefs at several CLs (including BC CL) about this, although we don't have any real experience yet...I've been scoping out the different resorts;) Supposedly, you note the allergy on your reservation before you arrive, and someone will contact you. I have heard mixed reviews about how helpful the chefs are, but the ones I've talked to acted as if they do it all the time:) I know there are a couple of people on here that have actual experience with allergies and CL, so I hope one of them can better answer your question, but if it were me, I wouldn't hesitate to try it. Some of the items may be pre-packaged, but from what I've seen, that's what you get at a lot of the parks too. Good luck, and please post your experience if you decide to stay CL!

Any texting services offered?
There were no texting services offered at BWI, but one CM did say that if we had already used the three and were back at the hotel, he might be able to schedule more for us...better than nothing, but we really didn't spend much time in the parks. We spent a lot of time in the lounge and LOVED it!! My DH loved the 65" TV!! Lorenzo is amazing, and evidently, Gary Sinise and his family know and love him too! They were gone by the time we arrived. We had Neil Patrick Harris at our CP, but I don't know where he likes to stay...evidently not BWI. The only complaint I have is that on our departure day, one of the CL managers was in the lounge...after talking to us a bit in the lounge (we were resting before returning to the Christmas party at a little after 5pm), she realized we had already checked out and said "once you check out, you are no longer supposed to have access to the lounge because you aren't included in our count...but it's ok." What!!!!???? I was furious!!! I have stayed at several different CLs many, many times, and I have ALWAYS been told we have access to the lounge until the lounge closes (some 10pm) or midnight at the ones that don't have doors that close. She wasn't ugly about it, but she actually believed that was true!! From that point, I really felt like she was guarding the food and wine! We had dinner with Blueskies (GF thread knowledgeable CL DISer friend of mine) and she couldn't believe the manager thought that was true! I hope this isn't a new policy because we always get a later flight out! Anyway, I had such a good time at BWI and enjoyed the sitting areas (porches outside primarily) where you could have a drink and chat with friends. The CL even gave us a tray to carry some desserts and cordials to the porch since the lounge was closing! I have numerous pictures, but I'll just post a few. Let me know if there is a specific thing you'd like to see, and I'll see if I have a pic! The clam chowder was delicious and the cucumber tea sandwiches in the afternoon were as well:)

I am sorry, that was really uncalled for. Regardless of whether she believed that to be true or not you do not approach a customer with that attitude. Lately I have had a lot of friends comment that while they enjoyed the BWI CL they found several CM's that seemed to be "resource guarding." They either need to up their counts to provide more or initiate rules on limits if they find it to be that problematic to manage. Our last visit there they were frequently out of everything in the lounge with nothing to replenish with.

They didn't seem to have a problem running out of anything while we were there, which made it that much more insulting! If we truly weren't allowed to have lounge access after check-out, then why did our magic bands still work on the "security door" to enter Innkeeper's Club? It was just ridiculous, but I did like BWI for a change...but I'm not sure I would've been happy if they had put me in one of the cottages or outside of the security door. If we go back there, I will definitely keep my mouth closed about having checked out already, since they seem to think the rules are different over there.

Yes, my band/key has always worked for the cl floor even after official check out time. If this is an actual rule I think many would rethink cl, I know many use the lounge as a more comfortable/private area to wait for transportation when leaving.

Its just funny that was brought up because we have always been told we have access at the the BC/YC til "last call" on the day we check out whoch we are never there that late but its nice to know

That's a bunch of bullcrap, pardon my French! I swear I have gotten to the point where I don't even talk to CL CMs anymore. Half of them are new and don't know anything, the other half seem annoyed all the time because they have to carry dead weight. I'm not a huge fan of the BWI CL to begin with, but I do find their desk CMs to be really nice. Pete has helped us through some nightmare situations. During my last BWI CL stay there were a couple of loud mouthed lounge CMs who really got under my skin. When I'm down there in the mornings early, just trying to drink my coffee and wake up, I don't want to hear CMs bellowing to each other.
Did you know this manager? Was it someone new? I think that is incredibly rude. I would have sought out another manager to correct her... that would have really bugged me. :sad2:

Unless this is a new rule being implemented very recently then it is completely false. I will ask the CMs at the GF and BC next week and see what they have to say. I really don't think it's true.

When you renew your AP online you don't get the green voucher card anymore. Your AP renewal should be listed on your MDE account under "my reservations and tickets". Your new AP magic band order should automatically show up on your MDE account under your profile where it says "magic band and cards" within a day or two. You only get the voucher card if you renew over the phone. Also if you renew over the phone you don't get a magic band order automatically. You have to take the voucher to guest services to activate it then you'll get an AP magic band order later.
When your magic band order arrives you'll have your new AP discount card inside the box. If you don't have time to order your AP band before your trip just go to guest services and get a hard ticket to use for your AP discount. It works the same way. We had to do that last time because I didn't renew the boys passes until right before we left. No time for the magic band order to arrive.

I agree 100%!! We have always booked the last flight out so that we can have one more day at the parks (which for us is always just a few hours). We always rest for a little while in the lounge before heading to
the airport. I really do hope that this is just one misinformed CL manager!

We have been told the same for many years at GF SL and RPC, BC, and Poly. This was our first trip to BWI CL. I don't think this will keep me from staying there again because it is a really nice resort, but it was humiliating!

As per GF SL the policy is you have use of all amenities until midnight on your checkout day which includes the lounge

One would think the policy would be the same throughout all of Walt Disney World. Blueskies said I should contact the GM at BWI. Perhaps I should??
