Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Thank you for the pics! AKL is becoming a second home for you recently. 😆

Looks like a lot of folks on this thread have been on property over the past couple of weeks, including myself. I was at POR last weekend, my DS school field trip at AK and just left BC yesterday (yes, that's 3 different trips in 1 week) Is it just me or does it feel like WDW is having a bit of a renaissance? Maybe it's the time of year but we've just had the very best interactions with multiple CMs. Everyone seems so upbeat and happy to be a CM. Those little magic moments seem to be popping up again that just makes WDW so special.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!

AKL Desserts

Couple of cute holiday items. They set up a little make-your-own hot chocolate bar and had 2 special desserts for the holiday. Mickey Bars/Sandwiches and Strawberry Fruit Bars were out as well.

Ha! Happy to share! 😊 I’m glad you mentioned the staff interactions, because there are a few CM’s here that we adore. It’s honestly the best feeling when people remember you and you’re greeted by smiling faces and even hugs! They truly make our stay wonderful. It’s like coming home to family here. They’re truly great.

I like the little touches, including a little “find Ellie” stuffed animal scavenger hunt they have going on. I mean, the stuffed animal is literally right in front of the room, but they get all excited if you find it and will give you stickers and a cute little message saying “she’s going to tell Santa to put you on the nice list” lol I just can’t say enough. Here’s the notice on the CM desk:

Sorry there was a bad glare. I will get another one.

Ohh and forgot to mention they CALLED us 2 days before our trip this time! lol I was so excited to hear from them again. It’s been a while!! lol

I need someone to chime in who knows as I’ve lost track of the details, but I thought the YC rooms and lounge were getting a refurb early next year. Not sure if we know if that starts in January, but I’d probably want to steer clear of that.

So… a 9 day stay is pretty long at any CL. Food/offerings are generally on a three day rotation for the main offerings, with the auxiliary/side things nearly the same every day. If you’re planning on relying on all evenings for CL to be your meal, I worry a bit that’s going to get old quick. But if you’re mixing it up with other plans, then no worries.

Trying CL with such a long stay is always a risk, unfortunately. For some the convenience is totally worth it and it makes for a relaxing stay. Others worry about the cost and try to ‘get the most out of what you’re spending’ and may grow tired of the somewhat limited offerings. It’s so personal it’s impossible to predict!

For us, the convenience has always had a ton of value - coffee and breakfast items steps away, no messing around with the the BC quick service, etc. Especially if you’re not being a park commando and are around the resort more often than not. But I also want to be fair and say I haven’t totally enjoyed the quality/types of offerings lately (thinking about evenings mostly when I say this).

That said, we’re mostly all CL enablers around here so unlikely to tell you not to do it! Give it a shot and then you’ll know if CL is a good fit for you down the road.

Have fun!
Before the renovations we did not like the ones with the balcony but after the renovations I like the set up better than the other ones. There is a switch at the bottom of the stairs to open and close the blinds on the 2nd floor. I know I'm in the minority but I did not like cooking in the lounge, especially when they cooked fish. You could smell it everywhere even in the rooms, that's why we rarely stayed there. I have smell issues:crazy2: Now it has become our go to Crescent Lake resort as long as I can get a cottage or deluxe room.

In our room, what I assume used to be this switch was just a blank wall plate. No ability to open/close the blinds. :-(
🤔 Wonder why it was not there, maybe there was an issue with that one. All of our rooms had a switch for the blinds before and after renovation. They need to be closed at night because the light shines in right in your face. Better to have them stuck in the closed position 😂

Cross posting…

Fire Alarms just went off - we are evacuating the building. Did smell a bit of smoke on way out as we passed a kitchen. Will keep you guys posted.
