Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Just stay away from the Martin Luther King weekend and you shouldn't have too much trouble finding something in late January. :)
Yeah I thought of that! As much as I'd like to be there on the 23rd for my 40th ;) we'll aim for a 24th arrival to avoid the holiday.

A PSA for those with stays the next few weeks - weekends are still blocked for discounts, but if you’ve struggled with getting discounts (paltry though they may be) for your Sun-Thurs dates, there seems to be some availability for GF RPC. I never did see any discounts for resort view CL, even when they dropped - it was deluxe rooms then only (and they were more $ with discount than resort view rooms at rack rate). I spotted this room category with an AP discount late last night - had to juggle with dates to see it - and was able to get it applied to my weekday by calling. I had to split up my res, which is a little irritating, but it does save me $150, hopefully they can continue me in the same room so I don’t have to move. My stay is next week, btw.

I was playing around with some December dates for weekends and found GDT for ~ 30% off with FL resident rates.. However, it's showing rack rate for a standard view GDT CL at almost $1000!, that's insane. So it puts the room still at $700. I just cannot justify that, when a non-cl room is $250 with the discount. You could do a fabulous make your own CL and still come out ahead.

It’s obscene. I’m going next weekend, and paying rack rate over the weekend - my sister couldn’t go another time. Non-CL was also obscene, so I have been cutting as much as possible the rest of the trip and invested in both BJs and Sam’s gift card deals. Still hoping to knock some $ off the first night. But I will not be paying rack rates again, period.

I like GDT, but it's not worth more than $450.00 a night. I'm not too impressed by small pours and and cold tomatoes
spread on bread. Beautiful lounge and nice rooms though.

I’m not sure if this is truly recent, but I’m going to post… let me know if this is old news?? Looks old but was just posted lol
Yes this is old news but it might be new to the folks over at DFB. This is what the rooms looked like as of August, 2023. Yes last year 2023 when the BC guest room update was complete.

I was just going to delete it!!! So weird, they just posted it!!!! I thought they looked the same but never stayed in that room. Just looked it up on the booking page and saw the same room! So weird. Thanks!

The room rates for CL would be even higher if they added a round trip for the airport transfers for a CL resorts / rooms. The Minnie Van (MV) premium is about $50 each way vs a limo service and if you need / want Car seats it is a great for small groups.

The MV airport transfers are also still limited to CL guests as Disney tries to manage the limited availability.

$50 each way?? or $200 each way?? as someone mentioned above. Also what is the expected gratuity? I am guessing if the ride is $200, are they expecting Disney tipping expectations of 18% and above?? making a round trip close to $500 for a minnie van pickup?

Yep. $200 each way. I haven’t taken one from the airport, but I’m guessing they expect the 20% tip. It’s more than a $50 premium IMO. The town car service I use is $190 RT. So I think it’s a $100 premium. Each way.

As I posted previously the Minnie Van (MV) airport services is about a $50 premium each way vs a limo or car service.

I normally pay about $150 for a limo to or from MCO. A traditional Lyft or Uber is usually under $60 (varies based on surge or traffic) each way. There are additional options available for Airport transfers.

To confirm @focusondisney post above the MV Airport service is $199 each way and may include configurations with up to 2 Car Seats while reducing seating / luggage availability. Again it is currently only available to CL Guests by calling Disney Signature Services (DSS).

Tipping is another topic so I will leave it to you to decide how to proceed.

If you’re paying $150 each way for a limo, saying a $50 premium makes sense. But I take a towncar & have looked into several companies & their pricing lately. Every one has been about $190 round trip. I compare Minnie Van more to a towncar service than a limo. So that’s $100 more each way vs a car service.

Thought I'd chime in to say we were really surprised to see the comparatively reasonable rates being offered at Universal's new Helios hotel next year. The summer rate for the non-park view club level room is $522 for mid-Aug weekday, though it is important to note that Helios won't get Express Pass. It has Early entry and a dedicated park entrance to Epic, but not Express. (Same dates, theme park view is an upcharge of $131.)

Another plus of Helios CL is that it is supposed to have turndown service.

The How to Train Your Dragon suites also have huge potential, sadly there are not no CL themed suites offered. For now, the website only has artist rendering of the kid beds, but they look adorable.

Yes it’s $199 each way for CL guests through Signature Services. I like them better than Limo services since they will pick me up 2 hours before my departure flight. Also I have had dirty cars and aggressive drivers with limo services so I feel the extra cash is well spent. I usually tip them $20 each way. I also like the easy CM discussions. It’s all personal preferences. Paying big $ for CL what’s the extra cash. At least my trip won’t be ruined

Thanks , I was confused by the term premium... what is that ?? A perceived value?? I was also more wondering is tip included in those costs or an extra figure we need to save for?? My last trip we used Black Chariot Orlando and their pricing was all inclusive of tolls/gratuities and everything included. I am considering a minnie van as we are staying club level for our upcoming trip.

I think premium can mean perceived value or an additional cost, over & above something else. We use Tiffany Town Car, it’s $190 RT, tip not included.

As @focusondisney suggested it is simply an extra cost for a equal or similar product. Is there is real or perceived value or is it more convenient for you or as @Ricguz was benefiting by only needing a 2 hr window window vs other providers requiring a 3 hour advanced pickup time for an airport return. If you need 2 car seats that would be real value that you realize by paying a premium for the MV since they have up to 2 car seats available.

There is no tip included in the $199 fixed fee for airport transfers. Since you don't use the Lyft app for this service you can't add a driver tip at time of drop off within the Lyft app so you would need cash to tip your driver.

As to how much to tip your driver? There are many views but since this is a personal service you should consider a range of 10-25% for the service. However since this is a fixed fee I would be fine with a $20 tip for a MV airport transfer even though it is only 10% of the fixed fee unless the driver provided extra or exceptional service.

I am considering a minnie van as we are staying club level for our upcoming trip.
Do you want or need any of the features of the MV service? I always use the 2 car seat example since the other ride share options only offer up to 1 car seat. Another example would be to have the driver meet you and assist you with collecting you luggage.

Do you need a dedicated MV or could you use a Mears bus, shared shuttle, Mears car service or a regular ride share. Only you can decide what works for your group.
