Page 2 Rescue...
I'm back for one last update from my Poly CL trip from two weeks ago, this time I'll focus on the room and room view. Apologies in advance for photo bombing the thread.
Most of my prior Poly CL trips have been TPV reservations but I've done GV and LV as well. For my TPV stays, I've requested and fortunately received a third floor room each time. I knew someday my luck would run out and I'd get the second floor, and sure enough, this was the trip.
I figured this trip might be the one - at two nights it was by far my shortest Poly CL trip and I'm assuming it's much easier for the room assignors to slot in a two nighter in a less requested room type.
So yes, the 'dreaded' no balcony second floor! I have to admit, it really wasn't that bad at all. I mean sure, it's not ideal - we just tend to really enjoy our balcony time - but it wasn't nearly the detriment that I had built it up in my head to be, perhaps perpetuated in some way by the comments you read around these boards. I might have been more bummed if it were a longer trip, but for a short trip, not a problem at all.
As a side note, unsolicited by me Disney did acknowledge the fact that they couldn't accommodate my room request. I didn't ask or even mention it, I was surprised they did.
So anyway...I was in Room 2505. I like being on the lounge side of the building, so this room was PERFECT for that. Not right by the elevator but a few doors down. I have had third floors rooms in the xx04-xx08ish range and those have been my favorites by far.
Here's a map...

Room was in good shape, but perhaps not totally immaculate. Just a bit of wear and tear. Nothing bad at all though. I'm talking small things like the carpet could maybe need replacing in another year, some bathroom wallpaper curling up ever so slightly at the bottom. I'm nitpicking for sure. The rooms here wear incredibly well but are roughly 4 years from the last refurb, if I'm not mistaken.

If you look close enough at my photos you're sure to find a Longboard somewhere...

The view...this was sunrise one morning. The room is not really as dark as the photo makes it look.

You can be in bed and see the GF. Not too shabby in my book.

At least they still do a personalized welcome card. Some other CLs don't do that anymore.

Not sure how long this will be going on... it's one of our favorite activities....

Love this addition. If you can't see the card, it says it's complimentary. Wonder if they will start charging someday like most hotels...
