Welcome everyone to the 2017 edition of the Club Level (CL) information thread! :goodvibes

Here on the DISboards we have many members with extensive experience staying in the various club levels on property. Many of us are happy to contribute information, personal experiences, and opinions to help others who might be new to club level and the amenities they offer. Here on this thread I have provided many of my personal photos and trip reports having stayed at every CL on property. I'm always looking for new/updated pics and info from anyone with a recent stay so please feel free to private message me your photos or updated CL information. I'd love to incorporate it into our ever-changing collection. :)

Over the last 15 years I've been posting here on the Resort Board probably the #1 question I get asked is "What is club level?", which is then shortly followed by "Do I need it?". Hopefully after reading this information thread, looking at photos, and asking questions of our experts, you'll be able to answer that question for yourself! ;) But remember, sometimes you may encounter negative reviews here. We welcome everyone's opinions and reports here rather it was a hit or a miss. Every resort on property can have a bad report from time to time. I recommend gathering multiple reviews before forming an opinion, or best of all try it for yourself. :D

All eight of the Walt Disney World "deluxe" resorts offer club level. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's Boardwalk Inn, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Club level is a specific booking category that has an additional cost. The amount will vary depending on the resort and the season... also if varies depending on discounts you might be using (ie. Annual Passholder, Florida Resident, etc). For specific rates please check the WDW website or with your travel agent.

***Disney's Coronado Springs Resort (a moderate category resort) also now offers a limited club level service in their business class, please refer to the CSR FAQ for more information***

Each club levels has their own IPO (Itinerary Planning Office) that assists club level guests with many needs. Dining reservations, dinner shows, Cirque du Soleil tickets, private fireworks cruises, recreation, golf tee times, childcare, spa treatments, special occasions and events, photography, Birthdays, special requests, etc. If they can't specifically do what you need to have done they can at least direct you to the person you need to contact (ie. Disney Florist, Cake Hotline, VIP tour guides, etc). Many DISers report having great success with the IPO staff finding hard to get ADRs (Advanced Dining Reservations) like Be Our Guest, Wishes/Illuminations dessert parties, etc. You are always welcome to book your own dining, but if you'd like assistance from the IPO staff you'll want to provide them a list of restaurants and preferred dates and times before you hit your 180 day mark (if possible). Even if your vacation is coming up in less than 180 days IPO staff can still help by putting you on their "keep checking" list for those locations that don't show availability. In my own experience they've even been able to find BOG ADRs on short notice! :)

***If you have a confirmed reservation to stay in a club level room or suite you do NOT need to wait for the IPO to contact you, you can contact them by phone or email at any time!***

Over the years this thread has had an immense amount of support from the DISboard community. Thank you so much to everyone who shares their thoughts, opinions, reviews and photos. :)

    ...... Here we go! :wizard:

First off, let's start with some general contact information. Below you will find the email addresses and phone numbers for the various IPOs. Please do not contact them until you have a confirmed reservation for a club level room. Once you have a reservation you may be contacted by the IPO or you might need to reach out to them first. It seems to be hit and miss these days so I don't recommend waiting around for a welcome email if you have questions or need assistance. :thumbsup2

***Texting services - Some of the club levels are now giving guests a phone number they can text during their stay when they are in need of something (dining reservation or a 4th fastpass for example). Resorts possibly using this service are the YC, GF and CR. There could also be others but information is sketchy. Remember this is in a test phase and might not be available during your upcoming stay. When using the service for a 4th fastpass you must use your first 3 fastpasses before requesting the 4th. After using the 4th you can then request a 5th, and so on. The texting service castmembers are available 7:00 AM til 10:00 PM daily. When initiating the texting conversation first type your name and reservation # or room #. Then wait for the castmember to respond before making your request.

    Tipping Guidelines:

    1) Club level CM's can be fired for taking cash tips.
    2) They are supposed to refuse up to three times. If you ask a fourth time, they take it, but, they must immediately turn it over to a manager
    3) The tip goes into a fund, and the manager buys donuts or coffee for all.
    4) If they do not turn in the cash, it can be immediate termination.

NOTE: They can accept gifts of up to $75 value (like candy, snacks, homemade items, flowers, gift baskets, etc).

I've been told that they appreciate small gifts (especially edible gifts!) that represent where you come from, for example, I'm from Massachusetts, so perhaps something cranberry-based. I'd try to bring some lobsters, but I think that'd be a bit tricky to get through the airport security.

    Lounge access:

You may check-in early and immediately begin using the club lounge on your first day. Rooms are typically ready by 3:00 PM, and the lounge is available to you while you're waiting for your room. Many of us here on the DIS enjoy an early check-in on club level so we can have breakfast in the lounge before hitting the parks. You may also continue using the lounge on your check-out day, which is especially convenient with a late flight.

The club lounge is only for club level guests. Family members or friends not staying on club level should not enter the club lounge. Food, beverages, and seating are in short supply and cannot accommodate visitors. :crowded: Please be considerate and realize guests on the club level are paying for these amenities.

Please be considerate and share seating in the lounge with other guests. There aren't enough tables for everyone to sit so when you are finished please allow others to have a seat.

Please do not enter the club lounge in swimwear or pajamas. Guests in the lounge do not want to see your Tinkerbell pajama pants! ;) Treat the lounge just as you would a restaurant, clothing and shoes should be worn at all times. Please do not sit on chairs in the lounge with wet bathing suits, this leaves a wet seat for the next person.

Please wear shoes and make sure your children wear shoes as well.

Most important of all, please assist your children in the lounge when choosing their food and drinks. Children should not be taking food with their bare hands, this is really disgusting and a chronic problem. In my many years of club level stays I have seen hundreds of children taking food with their hands, dropping and touching food then putting it back. :sad2: This can also be dangerous to people with food allergies so please take the time to assist your child with tongs and serving spoons. Young kids who aren't able to use tongs properly should not be coming to the lounge without an adult. Please don't allow your children to run back and forth to the lounge unsupervised.

In the event of a PROBLEM:

If you have a problem with your room or with your stay do not bother using your in-room phone. It will only give you the call center. You'll need to walk down to the CL-castmember desks, or if it's after hours you'll have to walk down to the resort lobby. You can't reach management from your in-room phone directly. This is probably the #1 recurring problem folks run into when faced with an issue. They report a problem to the call center thinking it's someone located in their hotel, by the time that call center person forwards their message it can be a long time before anyone knows you have a problem. If they even get the message at all.
Your in-room phone is only good for making requests like extra pillows, bedrails, blankets, or contacting the valet or bellman, or ordering room service. Your basic hotel needs. The call center castmembers are not good with handling problems that would be better solved by a member of management.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa offers two distinctly different club levels. The Royal Palm Club in the main building of the resort and a separate exterior building club level called Sugar Loaf. You will notice a significant price difference between the two levels. Both offer various view categories as well as suites.

    From the previous thread:

The third, fourth and fifth floors of the main building are home to the 83 club level rooms (including suites). Access to these floors is by private elevator only. Staff is available on the third floor to assist you. (see list in first post of this thread for a list of services)

The Club Lounge is located on the fourth floor. Here, guests may enjoy a continental breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The continental breakfast includes danish, bagels, cereal, fresh fruits, coffee, tea and juice. "Daily Delights" from 11:30am to 2:30pm (the menu varies daily, but usually includes a meat dish, fruits and a vegetarian dish, including cookies, coffee, sodas and juices). Afternoon tea from 3pm to 4:30pm (includes scones, fruit breads, cookies, jam tarts, and of course, tea). Twilight Refreshments from 5pm to 7pm (includes wine and cheese, with appetizer type dishes served. "Grand Indulgences" (desserts and cordials) from 8pm to 10pm. UPDATE: The food offerings at the Royal Palm Club are now the same was the outer Sugar Loaf building.

Guests who need to connect to home or work via the Internet while vacationing, will find high speed internet access via WiFi.

Rollaway beds are offered free of charge. Guest may request bed boards, bed rails, down pillows, heating pads, microwave oven (limited number available), extra pillows, blankets, towels, robes and International Electrical Adapters. Call Housekeeping to do so.

If there are more than 2 adults in the same room, there is an additional charge of $25 per person, per night. For families with very small children, cribs (the pak-n-play variety), playpens and high chairs are available by calling Housekeeping or Guest Services.

A limited number of handicapped accessible rooms are available. In Sago Cay, there are 3 rooms, Sugar Loaf has 2, Big Pine Key has 2 and there are some in Conch Key as well.

Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m. Guest may check in as early as 7 a.m. and if the room is not ready, store luggage with Bell Services and head for the theme parks when they open.

Here is a sample welcome packet the IPO would send you before your vacation: https://word.office.live.com/wv/WordView.aspx?FBsrc=https://www.facebook.com/attachments/file_preview.php?id=409663895866550&time=1424629440&metadata&access_token=1159185171:AVITVanN4fK0AqqqM1l7ihgvLmU4ZiJti5n2BCYHy_x6nDyL&title=Blank+GF+PIP+12+21+14.doc

    Pre-Arrival Information

Once you make a club level reservation you should email the IPO and touch base with them and introduce yourself. Or you can choose to wait until they contact you, but sometimes that doesn't happen so it's really best to email them. Then about 2 weeks before your 180-day dining reservation window opens send the IPO a list of what ADRs you want (restaurant name, date, time, party size, allergy info, celebration, etc.)

One of these benefits is personalized itinerary planning. The benefits of an on-site Itinerary Planner are substantial, providing your Clients with a “seamless vacation” and giving them the best opportunity to participate in all the activities and events that interest them during their stay. Personal Itinerary Planning assistance includes :

    - Recreational Activities
    - Entertainment
    - Childcare
    - Dining
    - Special Arrangements
    - Special Events
    - Spa Services
    - Golf

New CR Atrium Club pics and report: https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...-and-questions.3414590/page-589#post-58158329

    Older pics:

Both Club Level floors offer service which includes personalized front desk and guest services, turndown service, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening wine and cheese, beer, and evening cordials and dessert. The Atrium Club is on the 12th floor and is comprised of standard rooms and has full Club Level service. The Tower Club on the 14th floor offers the same full Club Level service. When you arrive tell the Cast Members working at the bell services desk located outside you are staying Club Level. They will call another Cast Member escort you up to the 12th or 14th floor because they already have a key which is coded for either floor that needs to be inserted into the elevator, so once you arrive on your floor you can check-in up there.

Difference between the 2 Club Level floors

The Atrium Club Magic Kingdom View and Bay Lake View became available by reservation on 01/09/09. Prior to that all you needed was an Atrium Club reservation and you would end up with either view.

With the Tower Club there are a total of 16 rooms, 5 standard rooms and 11 suites: 1 & 2 Bedroom Suites, a Vice Presidential Suite and a Presidential Suite. With the standard rooms, there is no guarantee of a Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake View. However with the Suites, you will be booked into a particular view which will indicate the Magic Kingdom View or Bay Lake View. Finally there are 4 Standard Magic Kingdom View rooms and 1 standard Bay Lake View room.

The lounge on the 12th floor is bigger with more seating than the 14th floor club lounge. They converted 3 standard rooms into the 12th floor lounge, so there are 3 balconies available on the MK side for all Club Level guests to watch the fireworks. The lounge on the 14th floor also offers seating outside on the balcony, which is something that is not offered on the 12th floor lounge.

Finally both floors serve the exact same foods for breakfast, afternoon snacks, 5:00 PM hors d'oeuvres and 8:00 PM desserts & cordials. The 12th floor Atrium Club is less expensive then the 14th floor Tower Club, even though on both floors offer the exact same service. The 14th floor is more expensive because fewer number of total rooms and Suites.

CR Resort Fan 4 Life: "This past August when I was in the lounge on a Thursday night they ran out of the BBQ Short Rib in Spring Roll and replaced it with the Beef Wellington that was on the old lounge menu. (just in case it ever happens again, if someone was looking forward to a specific item.)"

If you are staying in an Atrium Club - Bay Lake View and want to watch Wishes, go to the lounge on the 12th floor to watch them; they also pipe in the music over there. The same thing can be done for guests staying with a Bay Lake View on the Tower Club 14th floor. The music is also piped in up there. Finally on nights when the Magic Kingdom is having Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the music for either party is also piped into both lounge balconies.

    From the previous information thread:

There really is no reason to wait, especially if you have dining reservations that need to be made.

    Updated new information:

The 200 day mark is the latest date you should wait to hear from the Planning Office. If you haven't received a call by then you need to be sure you contact the IPO asap.

Disney's Beach Club Resort is steps from Epcot and known for its expansive pool area called Stormalong Bay. The theme of this resort has a very seaside/beachy feel. It is laid back, casual, and very cheery. We've all been waiting on pins and needles to see the newly renovated and expanded club lounge, so here you go!!!!

UPDATE: Alcohol is now being served to guests at the Beach Club, it is no longer self serve.

    Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Disney's Yacht Club Resort is connected to the Beach Club Resort and offers access to Stormalong Bay as well. It's a bit further of a walk from Epcot, but very close to the boat dock for Hollywood Studios transportation. The theme of the resort is a luxurious nautical theme and the club level offers standard, garden, and lagoon/pool view rooms as well as deluxe rooms, 2 bedrooms suites, and larger suites.

    Disney's Boardwalk Inn

Disney's Boardwalk Inn is conveniently located near Epcot's International Gateway, as well as a peaceful boat ride from Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Boardwalk area offers many dining and entertainment options which makes this resort extremely desirable. The club level has been scrutinized for its difficult and long journey from the lobby, requiring guests to manipulate through several turns to reach the Innkeeper's Club. However once there you will find some of the best castmembers I've ever encountered on property. The club level offers standard and deluxe rooms, two story garden rooms (maximum occupancy of 2) as well as suites.

    Contact Information:
    Phone: (407) 934-1448
    Fax: (407) 934-1487
    Email: Boardwalk.Itinerary.Planning@disneyworld.com
(Please do not contact the IPO until you have a confirmed reservation.)

The Club Lounge "Innkeeper's Club" hours of service are:

Doors open at 6:30am, for Coffee & Tea Service
    Continental Breakfast from 7:00am to 10:30am;
    Refreshments from 11:30am to 4pm;
    Wine and Cheese Selections from 5:00pm to 7:00pm;
Cordials and Desserts from 8:00pm to 10pm
Doors closed at 10pm each night

The Garden Suites are designed for Honeymooners and groups of 2. Parties of 4 are no longer booked in the Garden Suites.

There are a Total of 57 Club Level Rooms
The 14 Garden Suites are on the 1st Floor in the "Quiet/Garden" area.
5 Deluxe Rooms are on the 3rd Floor (Two above Flying Fish and 3 above Kouzzina's) (BoardWalk Views)
5 Deluxe Rooms are on the 4rd Floor (Two above Flying Fish and 3 above Kouzzina's) (BoardWalk Views)
The Steeplechase (Presidential) and the Sonora (Vice-Presidential) Suites are on the 4th Floor (BoardWalk Views)
4 Two Bedroom Suites (NO BoardWalk Views)
ONLY 8 Standard Club WITH BoardWalk Views
Leaving 19 Standard Club with Garden (Quiet Side) View.

3rd Floor Deluxe Rooms (Total 5) are not behind the Security door and will require either a stairway access or a elevator ride up to the 4th Floor Lounge. There are 3 rooms on the 4th Floor (1-Deluxe, 2-Standards) that are also outside of the 4th Floor Security Door, just around the corner from the 4th Floor Check-In Desk.

These limitations sometimes make it difficult to meet multiple room requests. NO rooms are near an elevator. Few rooms in the standard catagory have a BoardWalk View.

    (Thank you Crazy Hakim)

Thank you for the new thread, Erika!

Today is the day for the mad packing scramble. We will be leaving the house at 3:15 am tomorrow morning, so we're just about 24 hours from arrival at MCO. Thank you all for the fantastic information from the CL thread contributors. I'm hoping I come back with lots of pictures and information to share. If I have a chance, I'll post pics in the thread here as we go.

Please keep fingers crossed for great travel weather tomorrow!

Erika...thanks for the new thread!! As for pics...I didn't take any of the 14th floor lounge but I do have a few of the 2 BR suite on that level if you'd like. Kook also posted a link to them in the CR thread.

Last October, DH & I received a wonderful upgrde to a 2 BR suite on the 14th floor which was absolutely amazing!! While the lounge seemed small to us, it never was crowded while we were there and the view of the fireworks from the balcony was impressive.

Couldn't see the Atrium CL from there (or at least I never noticed) and while I had been told that Tower guests were allowed to use both CL lounges, we were told that was no longer allowed and our magic bands only worked for the 14th floor. CM's were nice and the offerings were good but we found ourselves having to ask for things as they didn't seem to replenish all that much. We really enjoyed our stay and found that floor to be very quiet compared to some of our other CL stays at other resorts. In a couple of months we'll be staying at the CR again but this time in a TPV Atrium CL room so I'll be able to compare the two lounges better. Loved it there and can't wait to go back. HTH.
